"Alright Shindama, today is going to be simple, we just need you to re-paint Miss Hiyata's house for her. Think of this as a community service of sorts. You will do whatever she asks and will execute the mission properly. If you do not you will not pass, you will fail... do you understand? don't mess up okay?" the Jounin sensei said to Shindama, he appeared to be half paying attention. Shin scratched the side of his head, looking a bit confused before smiling big. When he smiled you stared up at the higher ranking ninja and nodded. "Ya I think I got it, sounds rather simple actually!" he sounded quite happy to have taken this task. Although he really was not all that excited, Shindama was not the painting kind of kid. He was a fighter, he rather be off hitting things. Regardless he would not screw this up, he had to pay for food some how.
"Very good, now take these," a paint brush and canister of paint, "try not to make a mess will ya, and don't put any holes in buildings like last time." Shindama just sort of smiled at what he said and gave him a thumbs up. He took the equipment and headed off. Making it down the long staircase out into the Konoagakure warm weather. This made him smile, all the more happy to be out and about. For a second he thought maybe he should of went to see what Akemi and Yasuhiro were doing. But it was too late, the mission had already begun and he would not want to fail. So without wasting anymore time Shindama headed off to find Miss Hiyata's house. He was sure that the Jounin had told him but... he forgot already. Naturally Shindama began to ask around Konoha. After a few people not knowing, he ran into a small family who claimed to live near her. They gave him proper directions so that he could carry out his mission.
Without anymore delay he headed towards her house, climbing on the roofs to get there in less time it would take to walk. This also gave him an excuse to jump around and enjoy himself. The sound of his sandals hitting against wood and metal was hear every so often. This went on until eh had reached the old ladies house. Not everyone in Konohagakure actually got their very own house, so he was impressed. A lot people just had rooms, much like row houses, or apartments. Shindama would know, he lived in one himself, it was just a kitchen, and then another room off the side where his bed was. Nothing too impressive, not like Miss Hiyata's house anyways.
Shindama ran up to the door and knocked on it, waiting for her to come out and greet him. He stood there for about a minute before she crept the door open slowly. "Hello..." a little voice crept out of the doorway, it was her. The client that he was briefed about before heading out. "Hello! I'm Shindama, I'm the one painting your house today for you Miss Hiyata, it is a pleasure to meet you!" he said with a large smile as the door opened even more. "W-what a cute boy, welcome, should I make you something to eat?" she seemed to get off topic faster then he did. "I uh, no I really shouldn't I'm here to do a mission, but food does sound good right now." Shindama's own stomach was winning the fight over mission and food. 'How about I cook it while you work deary," she said as she began to walk back inside. "Sounds great!!" Shindama was excited, and now more motivated to work twice as hard, a free meal with his mission, he should paint houses more often.
Beginning, he cracked open the cane of paint, painting over parts of the house that seemed like they were faded. Brushing nice and easy, trying not to make a mess of things or get it all over himself. He was bored already, still painting where it needed a new coat. Moving all along the house, he would find these spots everywhere, the place seemed very old. Oddly enough though he was almost done, the place did not need completely re-painted, just nicely re-done in certain spots. This made everything a lot easier on him, if it was not for that fact he would mots likely need more paint. He was actually already running out of paint, but luckily, he had finished. Just a little bit of paint left, he decided to go around and just tighten up his work a bit. The paint was not completely depleted, and he heard Miss Hiyata calling, "food is done!" Shindama ran back without any hesitation, he was starving.
She had made rice balls, one of Shindama's favorites, one could tell by how fast he started stuffing his face with them. "Thank you!" he said his mouth full of food, "I better report back now though." Miss Hiyata nodded to him and smiled, "I'll be sure to put in a good word for you," she said. Shindama smiled brightly and jumped off, heading back to accomplish his mission and gather his reward. When he got back the Jounin acknowledged his completion, and Shindama headed off with his reward. It was just another day as a Genin for young Shindama.
