DIFFICULT TAKES A DAY, IMPOSSIBLE TAKES A WEEK
{ Team 1 • I hope you're ready to work! • Weather Conditions: Cold & Damp }
"Engetsu, I have your genin team ready for you. I would like it if you were to meet with them a.s.a.p to ensure they are ready to be ninja. You do have the option to send any of the three back to the Ninja Academy for another year if you deem them unworthy. But I beg you to exercise caution and not just base your critique off of their appearances." The Mizukage spoke to the younger individual as he slid three sheets of paper across his desk to the wild haired jonin across from him. With a silent nod, Engetsu reached out to pick up the papers, raising his right brow as his gray eyes took notice to the first picture on the first page. "I've taken the liberty of sending letters to them that should arrive at dawn, giving them ample time to meet you at the training grounds where you are free to make your assessment of them." Lord Mizukage added as Engetsu shifted pages to look at the second of the three pages of files on the genin.
With a bow to show his respect, Engetsu then turned on his heels and walked toward the exit of the Mizukage's office. Judging by the time, Engetsu had no more than 10 minutes before dawn which was then the letters would arrive hand delivered by a chuunin of the village. This would give him more than enough time to get to the designated training field they were supposed to meet at. As he flipped to the final page of the set of three, Engetsu's lips turned up in a sort of grin as he started at a picture of his son, Izūgetsu. "Hmph, well that makes one of them that I can rely on." He spoke as his feet carried him through the empty village streets. Shop owners were moving around, preparing to open their businesses for the day, sharing "Good morning" with one another as they passed. Engetsu's gray eyes caught sight of a local popular fisherman who always had the best quality of fish at his stand on ice. The silent swordsman turned his head just as the heavy set male slapped a fat tuna on the section of crushed ice to set out for display, jumping up in a blur off the streets as he took to the rooftops to make short work of his little trek out to the training fields. He wanted to claim a good spot for his squad.
Landing with a light thud at the foot of a sizable lake, Engetsu would quietly observe his surroundings for a few minutes as he gauged the size of the area that the Mizukage had chosen for him to meet his team. "This'll do.." he murmured quietly. Yes, this area was absolutely perfect for the genin to spend a day training with Engetsu. They had a large mass of land to utilize however they wished, with the standard three logs placed in the middle between the lake and the wooded area that lead to this clearing. With the current weather though, Engetsu knew there was a possibility the genin would complain about the conditions and how they didn't want to work so early in the morning. Grabbing his forehead as he closed his eyes, Engetsu pushed such thoughts out of his head quickly due to an oncoming headache just from imaging the whining the kids would give him, all besides the little frost of course. With a heavy sigh, Engetsu decided it was just best to wait for them to show up before he'd drive himself crazy with negative thoughts on how the situation could play out. Looking out into the large lake, Engetsu awaited his first student's arrival.

What will tomorrow be like? Izū kept asking himself that question throughout yesterday, and he's been asking himself that question for the past week. This was due to one and only one reason: "Assigned Team." He wonder when, or to be more exact, what his teammates and jonin sensei be like? A question he dwelled on for the past while, albeit unable to do anything but wait for the inevitable revealing. He realized this fact, but no matter what his mind kept coming back to those alluring mysteries. His teammates will indeed affect his life from now on, especially his Sensei, and he needed a good Sensei to be better than his father - Engetsu Hōzuki. To make him proud.
Resting his head on his pillow, he rummaged around as if in discomfort - he couldn't rest nor did he want to wake up to an unfulfilling day surrounded by solvable mysteries. GAHHH!!!" He screamed in painful frustration. He couldn't sleep, had no reason to get up from the bed, no motivation for training, and absolutely no fucking peace of mind in sight. It was at the moment where he was ready to literally knock himself out that a knock brought itself to his door. Hm? Dad? He wondered if his dad had come home early, despite not being on friendly terms due to him trying to distant himself from his father to improve his skills of his own power, he still liked it when he was home when he was and their small conversations around the house. Albeit he'll never admit it or call Engetsu "dad" in-front of him.
"Chunin Delivery Service." Despite it sounding nature, it's such a derogatory thing to say, where you're a chunin, one of the middle-class military officers having to deliver messages to those who are lower status, or maybe it was for his dad? "Aight, gimme a sec." Trying to diminish the amount of procrastination built up over the wee hours of the ending night, he got up in a sluggish posture and dragged his body towards the door. "I'll be there in a sec!" Stretching a bit and slapping his face, he opened the door with the same sluggish way he carried his own body.
"Here's your letter, Izūgetsu Hozuki." Hm? He grabbed the letter and the chunin departed. It was for him. Opening it slowly with heavy anticipation that this be the letter for his squad invite, and indeed it was. Like flash, he was already ready to depart upon the reading of the word: "Squad" Off he went towards the designed location, already there before the sun had risen up from the horizon. "I wonder who'll be my sensei."

She wanted to look good for today, but apparently her hair and wardrobe had other plans. Her long, flowing hair was a source of great pride, and probably her favorite thing about herself; it was the whitest white she had ever seen, and while she usually tied it up for missions and stuff, she had wanted to let it hang free. But it was frizzy and absolutely refused to lay straight, and the genin had given up and braided it. So that was one problem grudgingly solved. Next was the outfit. Iku always wanted to dress to impress, and with her hair tied up like this it was going to take a really nice-looking outfit to offset it. Well, someone had spilled grape juice on her white dress and, instead of washing it or giving it to their mother to clean, they had dumped it in the back of her closet. The genin knew damn well that she hadn't done it herself; she loved that dress more than she loved her mother and would never have done anything to hurt it. The only other person that was ever in her room was that damnable brunette twin of hers. Not that she was blaming Kazue or anything. Nope. And she certainly wasn't going to give her sister a good thwack or six with her quarterstaff. Not at all. So she had settled for a long-sleeved blue top and pants, because it was cold and damp outside and freezing her butt off was not fashionable, no matter what anyone said. Therefore, in her personal opinion, Iku looked like a mess and was not happy about it. Dragging her staff with her, the genin headed downstairs to find some breakfast. And then someone knocked on the door. The teen stormed over, yanked it open, and growled at the chunin. "Are you fucking lost, or something?"The chunin opened her mouth to retort, thought better of getting in a stupid fight with a genin, handed her two letters, and left. Iku noticed that there was one for each twin - of course - and ripped hers open. Her expression soured even further afterwards. Great. She was going to have to meet her sensei and her third teammate - because she had no doubt that Kazue was on her team too; you just couldn't separate twin power like theirs - while she looked like shit. Great."Kazue! Get your skinny ass down here!" she shouted. She put both notes down on the table, grabbed the rest of her gear, and left. It was important to be on time if you wanted to make a good impression, and she could not wait on Kazue. Her twin would have to live without her for a little while - tragic, she knew, but unavoidable. She arrived at the training ground to see at least one person already there. Well, he had better turn out to be an interesting person that wouldn't be annoying, or she might have to give him a good beating too. Ass-kicking always put her in a better mood. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, width:100px; background-color:#2d3a4d;][atrb=vAlign, top]we are one and the same.... But you... Are mine | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, width:350px; background-color:#091930;][atrb=vAlign, top] BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIING Her alarm clock went off at five o'clock in the morning sharp. However by that point in time the young genin had already been out the door leaving the clock, once again, for her twin sister or mother to turn off. The chocolate haired genin was already running down the streets of Kirigakure with one hand firmly grasping her scythe as she rested it on her shoulder. She ran past the various shop owners that were already out and about setting up for that day, stopping only at the produce stand to get a juicy red apple as was her morning routine. Thanking the nice lady for her apple, she ran off once again one hand on her scythe, the other now on her apple holding it up to her mouth as she took a bite out of its side. Kazue Yasui had been planning to work on that technique with her scythe again today. That one that would allow her to attack seven enemies simultaneously and take them all down within moments, only she hadn't managed to pull it off, not even once. It was frustrating that she was still so far behind as to where she wanted to be in her mind and all that was holding her back was this one technique, however she wouldn't let it keep her down, no she would just keep at it. By the time Kazue arrived at the clearing that she had taken many hours the previous night to decide upon for training she noticed there were three other people there already. One of them was a man with an X shaped scar across his face, likely not something you'd want to poke fun at yet Kazue would likely do it anyway sometime in the near future. Another was the goddess of Ice herself, her twin sister Iku, and while Kazue wanted to say hi to her it was quite evident by the look on her twin's face that she wasn't in the best of moods. On any normal occassion she would have done it anyway in order to spur a fight, her twin always challenged her, but not today. The third was.... oh god no not him. Mr. Stalker, or in other words... "EH!? SHERBET HEAD!? WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE," yup that would just about cover it, with Kazue being as unnecessarily loud as always. I'll protect you with my own hands! |

DIFFICULT TAKES A DAY, IMPOSSIBLE TAKES A WEEK
{ Team 1 • Nice! No one's late. • }
It would seem that Engetsu wouldn't have to wait for the genin to arrive for as long as he'd imagined he'd have to, as they arrived in an orderly fashion one by one, his son the first of them to arrive. Already, they were off to a good start, and he was glad it was so. His gray colored eyes would slowly run over the appearance of the last two to arrive, twins by the look of it, with identifying factors thankfully. Engetsu didn't want to imagine how much of a pain it would be if they both looked exactly alike from head to toe. Good.. good. Lord Mizukage was right about the delivery time of his letters thankfully. Searching over the papers briefly to learn the names of the twin females, Engetsu then quickly folded the papers up and slipped them into his ninja pouch for safe storage.
The silence was broken first by the brunette twin Kazue, who took notice to the male member of the squad besides himself of course. Sherbert head as she called Izūgetsu, would suggest that she knew him. Which would make sense seeing as they were all of the same age and thus had the same classes in the Ninja Academy together. Briefly, he pondered over the possible relationship the two could have, but would wait for such a relationship to reveal itself unto him by their interactions with one another. Clearing his throat quietly, yet loud enough to be heard by the trio of children, Engetsu would take a few steps forward toward them before coming to a stop, content with his positioning. Extending his right arm, the wild haired adult drew an imaginary line which he expected the genin to stand on, but of course they wouldn't do so without instruction.
"Form a line. Side-by-side with an arm's length between yourselves." His voice firm and commanding. Waiting for them to move, Engetsu decided it best to give them a bit of information about himself before asking them a few questions about themselves and such.
"My name is Hōzuki, Engetsu, and Lord Mizukage has appointed me as your Jōnin sensei. I know and understand that it's early in the morning, dawn to be exact, and that your young bodies may or may not be accustomed to waking up at such hours of the morning, but I'm going to change that, starting today." The sounds of birds chirping as they woke up with the morning sun could be heard in the wooded area just behind the group. "I'm glad that we're starting out on the right foot, I was actually worried that we wouldn't. Thank you for proving me wrong, all of you."
Despite his calm demeanor on the outside, there was quite a bit of nervousness within Engetsu, which wasn't like him at all. He couldn't remember the last time he'd felt nervous for anything, or well.. that was a lie. On the day of his son's birth, Engetsu was reduced to nothing more than a ball of nervousness, as a boy of only 15 at the time, it was to be expected. "From your files, I know only a little bit about the majority of you, which of course will become more as time passes, but, what I wish to know is what exactly do you expect of me? FROST, you first!" Although he anticipated exactly what his son would say, Engetsu wanted him to voice it for the entire group to hear..

The excitement of meeting his teammates built in his teenage body. It felt refreshing knowing the ever-frustrating mystery of "who will be" will be solved in just a few minutes. GOD! He anticipated so much. Soon he'll hope that he hadn't got his expectations so high. But not yet.
The first one to arrive was a girl that face gave him a twitch to his brow - She looks remarkably familiar. Whatever it was, he had indeed meet her before, maybe, he just can't pin-point it because her white hair bore nothing on his mind. In some way, she also looked unhappy or simply angry at the world for being the world, but he couldn't even really see if that was true or not, but that was definitely the vibe he received. Well, despite his twitch, she could be someone he could come to enjoy, still can't wait for the other two shinobi, most likely another male genin. Perhaps Shinji? Meh.
A loud voice broke his bubble of reality. A voice he would never forget, and a nickname he will never like - sherbet. He slowly turned around with an eerie look upon his face, now realizing why the other looked so familiar. His head kept shifting between the two to see the difference, omg...they were twins. Both his brows twitched, jerking his face. It had seemed fate wasn't too kind to sherb- i mean, Izū today as a clearing of a throat caught his eye and before him laid possibly one of the outcomes he would've never imagined - his father. His body gave out and he dropped to the floor on his knees in despair - What have i done to deserve this? A quickly fading thought.
He stood the moment Engetsu begin to talk, like before, despite him not showing it, he enjoyed his father's company and out of natural response and lined up - but with a mean ass look drawn on his face throughout the entire time. His words flew by, giving them information about blah blah blah; he didn't care.
"what I wish to know is what exactly do you expect of me? FROST, you first!"
Izū's brow raised with a somewhat you-know-what-i-think kind of look drawn on his face. He was already to his limit with the bad outcome of today, "YOU want to KNOW what i EXPECT of YOU, SCARFACE?" He emphasized every important word to poke at Engetsu. "I expect you to lay down on the floor while we take advantage of you." DAYUM!!! His mother told him of how he was conceived, but to think this was one of the few times he used it in an argument - pissed is beyond what he is. However, he know what was going to come, he triggered his hydrification technique in anticipation. Well, you only live once...right?

Instead she observed her sister's outburst at the male genin, brows arched, not bothering to contain her laughter. "Sherbet Head, huh?" she snickered. "Kazue, dear, I know I've told you before that you have to introduce me to all your guy friends, and yet you hid this one? Want him all to yourself, do you?" Her words were accompanied by a light, teasing tone, indicating that she definitely wasn't serious. Sherbet head didn't look like much of a catch - and even if he had been, Kazue wasn't as into guys as she was, so she probably would've handed him over to her anyway. Iku was quite into boys - and even that was a bit of an understatement. If she met a guy her age that wasn't totally ugly, she'd flirt with him until he asked her out - or, on very rare occasions, fessed up to having a girlfriend or simply told her no. She was such a prize that ninety-five percent of guys she flirted with took her on at least one date. After one or two, though, the genin tended to dump them. For now, she didn't like the thought of being in a serious, committed relationship. That kind of thing was for adults who didn't want to have very much fun, she thought. She stood next to Sherbet Head - that being the only name she had for the boy - and waited for their sensei to get done with his talking. So far he didn't seem bad, or overly strict, or anything like that; he was nice and polite, and that was something Iku was quite happy about. If they'd gotten another stupid bastard, like the first sensei the twins had had, the teen very probably would have thrown a full-out hissy fit, regardless of how immature and unattractive it would make her look. She almost couldn't believe the audacity of Sherbet Head, or Frost, or whatever he was called - seriously, did he ever use his first name? - talking to their sensei like that. Iku cracked a grin. Maybe they could get along and she wouldn't have to hit him with her quarterstaff. Much, anyway. There was always at least one good reason to get swingy with the staff, and whoever was around her when swingy time occurred was in danger - of getting their eye poked out, most likely. "Such disrespect, Sherbet Head!" she mock scolded him, barely containing her girlish giggles. One thing was for certain: this wasn't going to be a boring meeting. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, width:100px; background-color:#2d3a4d;][atrb=vAlign, top]we are one and the same.... But you... Are mine | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, width:350px; background-color:#091930;][atrb=vAlign, top] Kazue looked around at the others and for several moments she was clueless when it finally hit her. SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HERE! So she did what any normal scythe wielding teenage girl would do, she lined up next to her giggly twin sister and leaned her scythe against the ground, "You can have him if you want him, not my type," she whispered to the white haired girl. Listening to whom she assumed to be her jounin sensei like any normal person would she took a couple of mental notes about the man overall.
So far he seemed to be alright, while this seemed to be his first genin squad, so it would likely be interesting to see what he came up with. As for the whole getting up before dawn thing, no problem, Kazue always managed to be out the door before her alarm clock went off, much to her mother's annoyance. However when the jounin, Engetsu Houzuki as he called himself, asked what they would like from him, he made a crucial mistake. He address Sherbet Head before her. HOW DARE HE!
Sherbet didn't seem too fond of the idea of this Scarface, yes a fitting name, at this point either. In fact the boy's reaction seemed to be a little over the top as he even went as far as to attack the Jounin. Getting an idea, Kazue grabbed her sister's shoulder and motioned towards the near by tree. Depending on how Scarface actually reacted to the boy's attack, Kazue might just jump in to help Sherbet. After all, Kazue wanted to have some fun and test her skill too. But until that time came, Kazue would sit on a large tree branch large enough for two Yasui twins and watch the going ons as they unraveled before her.
I'll protect you with my own hands! |

DIFFICULT TAKES A DAY, IMPOSSIBLE TAKES A WEEK
{ Team 1 • Say goodbye to Izugetsu, girls.. • }
As he finished speaking, Engetsu stood there in place as he awaited for the three of them in turn to tell him just what they expected of him as their sensei. He first called upon Izugetsu to speak due to him being the first in line, and by the loud tone of voice his son began with, Engetsu could already see just where this was going to go, which was a place he was hoping to avoid on his first day on the job. His son must not have been aware that as a Jonin, Engetsu held the power to demote him as a genin and send him straight back for another year at the academy. If he boasted such power to the three of them from the beginning, he wouldn't have t stand here and be insulted by his own son in front of the other two students. This child and his blatant disrespect was tiresome. When he said that he expected his own father to "lie down on the floor while they took advantage of him", Engetsu quickly adopted a look of shock complete with a small gasp as his lips separated. How dare his mother divulge such secrets to him like that, and for such a thing, Engetsu cursed her soul in the back of his mind. A part of Engetsu was happy that only the two of them knew what his words meant, and that the girls had no idea what Izugetsu was truly talking about. The look on Engetsu's face changed in the blink of an eye. No longer did he look taken aback from his son's disrespectful and hurtful words, but now he looked furious. It was nothing for Engetsu to exude a particularly potent killing intent, and with the change of expression, he did so aimed particularly at the young boy of the squad, though the girls wouldn't be exempt from feeling such a force effect them just as it would Izugetsu no matter if he were in his hydrificated form or not. Quickly he formed the Tiger hand seal which caused for the lake a small distance away from them to begin to bubble with the activation of his jutsu. From the bubbling lake, water began to rise up and shape itself in Engetsu's exact likeness from his style of dress, to the expression on his face, and even down to the sword Engetsu carried on his back. Once completely formed, the clone stepped out of the water and reached to draw it's sword. Without a single word from Engetsu, the clone rushed forward toward the young male with a full intent to kill him for his words. Of course since Izugetsu was currently in his hydrificated form, the clone could not truly touch him, but would serve its purpose as to keep him occupied. Which brought the real Engetsu back to the twins who hadn't yet told him what he'd expected of them. Clearing his throat, he relaxed his killing intent and returned his gray eyes to each of them in turn. "Now where were we? I asked you both a question which you have yet to answer..."Engetsu is currently using 'Water Clone Technique'

He knew the consequences of his action and were prepared to take them face first if need be. He prepared himself. The clone formed abruptly and lunged itself at him with the intent to kill. In basic self-defense, he opened his blade and attempted a block of the first strike - success. However that clone's physical strength was bearing down on Izu, if this was his father who possessed 10x the strength of the clone, Izu would've most likely been unable to dodge. He pushed the blade away and stepped back, attempting to retreat to the nearest high ground. This was punishment? GAH!

"Do you even have a type, sister?" She studied Sherbet Head for another moment. "But I know what you mean, he isn't really my type either." That didn't necessarily mean that she wouldn't go after him - she would probably at least flirt with him regardless - but it wasn't likely that he would get a second date, y'know? It kind of depended on his behavior throughout the rest of this meeting; she found his disrespect for their sensei amusing, and his willingness to piss the man off immediately reminded her of something she would do herself. And, to be honest, if Iku had found a male version of herself, she would date him forever. Because seriously, who wouldn't want to go steady with perfection like that? She was distracted from her inner ramblings about her own attractiveness by Kazue, following the brunette over to the tree and perching beside her. Up here, they wouldn't be in the way of the fight, and they got a much better view. Iku wasn't unaffected by the killing intent that their sensei was emanating, but for the most part she still just found the whole situation amusing. In Sherbet HEad's place? Well, that would have been a different story - suffice it to say, he was on his way to a swift ass-kicking, just as she or Kazue would be, though she imagined her sister was probably better than the male genin too. "What do I expect of you, hmm?" Iku took a moment to think about that. "Well, it's quite simple, really. I expect you to be a competent teacher who actually shows us things and helps us improve. That's what a sensei is, isn't it? So long as you don't turn out to be a shithead like the first sensei my sister and I had, I don't think we're going to have any problems." She grinned at him. "I tell you, I'm the perfect student, so you don't have to worry about there being any problems on my end!" Okay, so maybe that wasn't exactly true, but he didn't need to know that. She would definitely get in her fair share of trouble while they were a team, but that didn't mean she couldn't be a good student most of the time. Well, sometimes. Probably. Maybe. Okay, so she wasn't much of a good student at all, but at least she hadn't been disrespectful and insulting first thing like Sherbet Head had been, and that had to count for something, right? "Oh, and I have a question~ What's his real name?" Iku asked, pretty sure that their sensei would know who she meant. It wouldn't take a genius. "I mean, I'll probably keep calling him Sherbet Head regardless, but it's rude to not even know your teammate's name, don't you think?" He had probably been in classes with the Yasui twins at the academy, but she hadn't paid attention to anyone but Kazue during those years. And even if she had met him before, his name probably wouldn't have stuck in her head anyway. There was little room in there for things that concerned other people, after all. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, width:100px; background-color:#2d3a4d;][atrb=vAlign, top]we are one and the same.... But you... Are mine | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, width:350px; background-color:#091930;][atrb=vAlign, top] Well that certainly didn't take as long as Kazue was perhaps hoping, but that meant that their sensei actually knew what he was doing despite appearing to be a first timer. With a grin across the brunette's face she watched for a moment as Sherbet Head started to get his ass handed to him by a water clone no less. However this little spectator session was interrupted when their sensei walked over to their little tree and addressed them now completely ignoring the Sherbet Head. What did they expect of him? Hm? Kazue had to think about that one, she didn't exactly know right off the bat what she expected of him, however as she started thinking her Twin, Iku, started them off.
Looking to Iku now with those amethyst orbs of hers, her smile never faded as it seemed her sister hit nearly all of the points between the twins. Nodding her head at every few sentences Kazue started to swing her legs back and forth as she sat on the branch. However all movement stopped once her sister was finished. At this point eyes would likely be on her. Cocking her head back slightly she looked up into the foliage as she started to think. "What do I expect of you... hmm...." Several moments would pass as Kazue mulled this over, and it would seem that if anyone could see the inner workings of her mind there would likely just be a little bunny hopping around in circles chasing after a carrot with wings. "ummmm...." Several more minutes would pass showing Kazue's evident indecisiveness. Normally she had her twin there to help her decide and while Iku was right next to her, Iku had already hit practically all of their major points.
After several long moments Kazue finally got an idea, "Ah! What do I expect of you? Just don't die!" She said this with perhaps the most childish expression on her face of all time as again she started kicking her legs, "That way we can eat lots and lots of MEAT!" Ah yes, Kazue, always thinking about her and her Twin's next barbecue. Seriously when wouldn't this girl be ruled by her stomach? As Kazue would start to think about all of the different possibilities of times they could eat meat, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, a mental fantasy popped up in her mind with Kazue being buried in mound of cooked meat while enjoying every moment of it. While Kazue day dreamed she completely missed her sister's inquiry about Sherbet Head's name. I'll protect you with my own hands! |

DIFFICULT TAKES A DAY, IMPOSSIBLE TAKES A WEEK
{ Team 1 • Glad no one gave me any sort of drastic answers! • }
While his water clone kept Izugetsu busy with the threat of imminent death, the real Engetsu followed the twins over to the tree they retreated toward, where he continued to question the both of them seeing as they left without answering his question. Not only that but they broke the line he'd asked them to form without any sort of permission. While he'd let it slide this time, but next time, there'd be water clones for them as well. Listening to Iku's words first followed by her sister's, Engetsu's lips curled very slightly into a grin as he made a mental note of their responses to his question. He gave a nod of understanding before fixing his face back into its natural stoic look. "Good, those are all things I can handle." He then raised his eyebrow as he heard Iku question 'Sherbet Head's' true name. Perhaps he'd been wrong before in his assumption that they all were familiar with each other from their days at the academy, seeing as she didn't know his name.
Engetsu turned his head to look over as his son, which he suspected the two were also still oblivious to the fact, watching as the water clone viciously attacked the younger individual, driving him back with every strike of his sword, but of course limited to only 10% of Engetsu's true strength. He noticed that the clone was beginning to drift a little too far from Engetsu, which was a limitation of the Water Clone technique, so instinctively the clone would cease its attack and jump backward twice in order to remain within a safe distance to the original body. When it touched down on the ground, his sword remained drawn and pointed at the young white haired kid. One day soon, Izugetsu would tire of disrespecting his father, let alone infront of others just to embarrass him. There were times when he actually considered taking a page from his son's book and taunting him with disrespectful comments about his mother. He could easily tease him about her being dead, seeing as he cared next to nothing for the woman, even in her days of life. "His name... is Izūgetsu Hōzuki."
It was time to get down to some actual training, which was the original plan of their sensei. To test their physical condition as well as their individual skill level. "All of you," Engetsu's voice boomed as he raised his voice in order to capture all of their attention simultaneously, including his son who remained a small distance away. The clone who remained watchful of the lone boy, sheathed his sword and would come to stand beside Engetsu. Once he had their attention, he then continued to talk. "To the lake's shore. Now." He ordered, turning his back to the young girls to walk over to the shore of the lake himself, with the clone following no more than five paces behind him.
"Just to gauge just where to begin with you all, are any of you able to walk on water yet?" He awaited an answer as well as for the three of them to join him.

The clone still proved to be quite difficult to handle despite its lack of physical power, causing him to back up to evade its advances. It seems at a certain point, the clone couldn't go any further and ceased its attack, jumping backwards to get closer to his father. Izu thanked the heavens, and kept his distance, until his father seemingly called back the clones and demanded all lined up near the shoreline. Reluctant, but willing - not wanting to face another clone - he took small strides and sheathed his blade. "Let's get this over with." He said.

You shouldn't be a jonin-sensei if you can't teach, and really, what kind of awesome ninja just up and dies?" Iku commented after a moment. "Seriously. It's not like we have very high expectations or anything." He shouldn't have anything to worry about. If he couldn't meet their standards... then why the hell would the Mizukage make him a jonin? And as the Mizukage wasn't known for stupidly making people jonin for no reason, then surely he was competent enough. Right? "Izuugetsu Hoozuki. Got it. Wait. Wait. Hoozuki, huh? Like you? Is he your little brother or something? No wonder he's being disrespectful, if you're brothers. You should hear how Kazue and I talk to each other sometimes!" Iku grinned at him. He looked a little young to have a son or nephew that was their age, and while it was possible that Sherbet Head was his cousin or something, what he had said sounded like something a little brother would say to piss off his older brother. Thus Iku didn't think for a moment that she could be wrong. "So this is a team with two sisters and two brothers. That's pretty.. different. But also pretty cool." She considered asking Engetsu if Sherbet Head had ever had a girlfriend, but that was bordering on unprofessional, and she still wanted to make a good impression. Besides, it would probably embarrass the other genin if he heard she'd asked their sensei about his love life. At their sensei's command, Iku dropped down from the tree and headed over to the lake, not bothering to wait for Kazue. It would probably be worse to piss off Engetsu by ignoring him - even if only momentarily - she figured, so she had better follow his orders promptly lest he sic the water clone on her. "Nope. I can fall in it, though... which seems kind of counterproductive so I won't. Probably." |
