Cool, unassuming and lackadaisical were just a few terms used to describe this day. It started as any other with the usual hustle and bustle of the inhabitants of Kirigakure going about whatever they did to make themselves useful. Most tended to shops so that they could sell goods while others, namely the shinobi, took part in whatever assignments they were given. Depending on their rank the assignments could have had them in the same league as civilians given how menial some of the tasks were. This played true for most Genin, and specifically Hozuki Kuro who was en route to a task best suited for a farmer.
While he may have preferred something that would increase his skills there was little he could do to go against an order from a superior. Besides, there was always the possibility that the farmer had a hot daughter or a friendly wife. It was the least that could happen for having to travel to such an out-of-the-way place. Or better yet, whoever this Yasui Iku person he had been paired up with was hot too and after the mission they could do a bit of 'celebrating'. Yes, this was perfect! He could only imagine the various scenarios that would surely unfold once his good looks and unrivaled charm kicked in.
After a fair bit of walking the buildings and crowds of people began to give way to dirt paths and rows upon rows of trees. In the distance Kuro was able to make out what looked to be a small house situated next to endless rows of fully grown crops just waiting to be picked. "Must be the place." He spoke to himself while keeping his eyes peeled for that elusive farmers daughter. In a rocking chair outside of the house sat a man wait a splint on his leg and a pipe in his mouth. It was obvious that he would be the one giving the instructions though there was no sign of his attractive daughter who must have been inside... oh, and whoever he was supposed to do this mission with.
"Hey sonny-boy, you one of those ninja that the village sent to help pick my crops?" The old man asked with a raspy voice. Decades of smoking had taken their toll on his voice but he seemed a capable man. "Yes sir, Hozuki Kuro. But isn't there supposed to be a second person?" The Genin replied somehow taking his mind off the speculative farmers daughter for sake of the mission. "Ah yeah, they haven't shown up yet. You can wait around till they show up." The man replied as he gestured a hand towards another rocking chair. It must have been his daughters, no doubt about it. Without so much as a thought Kuro accepted the seat and sighed as he wondered just how long he would have to wait for his partner to show up.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true]So, today had not started off as the best of days. She had totally forgotten that a certain brunette someone had poured grape juice all over her favorite white dress and left it lying in the closet, causing the biggest, darkest stain in the universe. Iku had really wanted to wear it despite having a mission today, because it looked better with her straightened hair than any of her other clothes. But of course, that was not to be. So she had to settle for her fourth favorite dress - she did have to go for a mission, and if it resembled the last one she'd had... well, her second favorite dress would have gotten all dirty and stuff, and that was just not okay. Iku checked herself out in the full length mirror in her bedroom, striking a pose. Her knee-length ivory hair hung perfectly straight today. It was smooth, with no tangles, and it went well with her dress, of course. The dress was a pale shade of blue and stopped about six inches above her knees, and she wore black shorts beneath it just in case. Well, it wasn't the best she had ever looked = no makeup or jewelry or anything - but hey, she was still hot, and that was all that counted. Iku always wanted to dress to impress, and since she was going on a mission with a guy that wasn't Sherbet Head, she wanted to look good. Who knew when you would find a really hot guy, you know? Maybe this Hoozuki was just as hot as Sherbet Head - and, as that thought passed through her mind, she decided she'd have to ask if they were closely related, or like, distant cousins or whatever. Well, now that she had decided on an outfit that didn't make her look like either a bum or a slut, it was time to go. A glance at the clock told her that she was late, and the genin swore loudly. She dashed out of the house, barely remembering to kick the door shut behind her, and headed towards the farm where her mission would occur. "I'm so sorry I'm late!" Iku nearly ran into the Hoozuki boy, who was, in fact, quite attractive. Kuro didn't have to wait for long before the figure of another began to come into view. From the ridiculously long hair and skirt flowing in the wind it was no doubt that his partner for this mission was a woman. So far half of his prayers had been answered and without so much as a hint the demeanor of the Genin switched to the suave, smooth talking ladies man that Kuro had become. Dark hues gave a quick once over to the woman's attire when she mentioned having wardrobe problems, though it seemed she had not completely fixed the issue. While Kuro always enjoyed seeing a woman in a dress it wasn't usually what one wore when there was a chance of getting dirt on it, especially that light of a color.
Raising from his seat the Genin would close the distance between himself and the girl, all the while a devious smirk attached to his features. "Hozuki Kuro... a pleasure to meet you." He stated having seemingly forgot about the mission at hand. Until he received the girls name in return his attention would not shift to harvesting any of the vegetables. No, this was a much more important issue to deal with as it wasn't everyday he was paired with a beautiful young woman on a mission, especially at random. He would never admit to hitting on every woman he came into contact with, well most of them anyway.
"I think you look amazing, if you don't mind me saying." He added to further lay on the charm. To others it may have gotten in the way of the objective and been rather annoying it had been a staple of Kuros life since he was a child. His outgoing nature added to his stunning good looks brought him around more women than he knew what to do with, but wherever there was a woman in need of being hit on the Hozuki was sure to follow, and Iku was to be no exception.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true]Surveying the fields, Iku was glad she hadn't worn the pure white dress. And then, surveying the attractive boy in front of her, she was glad she hadn't dressed like a bum, with her hair tied up, wearing a t-shirt and shorts like a normal person. Pfft. Iku was not normal, nor did she want to be. She was perfectly fine with her totally fabulous self. "Yasui Iku." She flashed him a killer smile. "A pleasure, indeed." Any thought of tending to the farm had, of course, flown from her one-track mind, which was completely focused on getting to know Kuro better. Oh, yes, she most definitely wanted to get to know him. Him and his gorgeous eyes and amazing hair and handsome body. The genin had expected him to be attractive, but not quite this attractive. After hearing that he was a relative of Sherbet Head's she had kind of expected them to look alike, but Kuro was more sophisticated.. and certainly more charming than her teammate. "Oh, really?" Iku had been tempted to reply as she usually would - to say that of course she looked amazing. She was Yasui Iku, she always looked amazing. Any outfit shone when she wore it. But that just wouldn't be proper in this kind of situation - some guys didn't like girls that were as, well, arrogant as she tended to be, and so until she figured out how Kuro would react, she was going to steer away from being so vain. "You're not bad yourself." Bold as always, the genin leaned forward and gave him a quick peck on the cheek. "Hey, you kids!" the farmer shouted. "Yer supposed ta be pickin' the crops, not makin' out with each other!"Iku chuckled. "Well, he is right.. we should probably get to work. Save the making out for later, hmm~?"words 315 made by akemi of btn | [atrb=valign, top] waste my time commiserating self-medicating it's my design |

Yasui Iku, eh? Not a bad name for a decent looking girl but how well he would remember it would depend on how well she could keep his interest. There was a chance that the farmer may have been saying something about the mission, but Kuro was in no shape to pay attention. There was something interesting about this Iku girl, a confidence that the usual women Kuro spoke to didn't have. The usually went googly eyed and slack jawed at the slightest bit of attention, which probably spoke more to the type of women the Hozuki spoke to rather than the women themselves.
"Thank you." Kuro replied with a smile at the compliment given by Iku; she was indeed a different type of girl and had definitely piqued his interest. This was only further reinforced by the kiss she gave Koru which caused his eyes to go wide for a moment. Oh, this girl was good. Before he could mount a response the farmer chipped in and brought the two back down to earth. Oh yeah, they were here for a mission weren't they? Kuro didn't really care for it anymore but figured he would see it through if for any reason to get to know Iku some more. "Yeah, though I'd prefer sooner rather than later." Koru chuckled a bit at his own joke before turning his attention to the farmer. "So how all may we be of service, sir?"
"Ah, yeah. Purty simply job, just go through the rows pickin' the vegetables and put 'em in them there baskets." He said while pointing over to a couple of large baskets next to the fence. "I can deal wit' sortin' and washin' 'em myself. Y'all got it?" The farmer added while looking at the two Genin. It seemed fairly simple and was more time consuming than difficult, which meant there would be plenty of time for Koru to work his magic on Iku.
"Yep, got it." With a simple turn Kuro headed towards the baskets that were propped up against the fence leading into large batch of crops. It was fairly simple in design and had two straps attached so that one could carry it on their back. Now came the part that actually required work, but with the company of Iku time would surely fly by. He began by taking a knee next to some random leafy vegetable and carefully pulled it from the ground. A cabbage? Kuro hated the taste of them but someone out there had to like them. After putting it in the basket he would repeat the process the entire way up the row and back down another that contained carrots; now those he liked. As he predicted the job wasn't difficult in any way, shape, or form but was rather time consuming. Luckily Kiri's environment provided cool temperatures for such manual labor.
"So, where's a girl like you been all my life?" The Genin asked feeling the need to break the silence. It was a patented move that usually left most girls flustered, and regardless of how quick witted she seemed to be it would only be a matter of time until she too would succumb to Kuro's charms.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true]Iku definitely was not like other girls. She had gone through her fair share of boyfriends in the past couple of years; she had dated at least half of the guys that had been in her class at the academy, and some that were a year or so older. Never anyone younger, though. Younger boys were immature as all hell and she so did not want to deal with that. She could be immature enough herself, she didn't need anyone else chipping in. "Oh, don't thank me, Kuro-kun~ Thank the gods for bestowing their divine attractiveness upon you, hehe~" Iku shot a quick glare at the farmer, who was still glaring at them. Hmmph. People just ruining the mood, it made her so mad! "Wouldn't we all~?"The job was rather simple, and it was tons better than picking up after a bunch of smelly old goats, like she had had to do on her last mission. Now that had been truly disgusting. She'd burned the clothes she had worn rather than trying to wash the grime out of them. There was no way she could get that dirty picking heads of lettuce and pulling tomatoes off vines, right? Well,s he hoped not. It simply would not do to get all nasty looking in front of a hot guy. Thus, it took her a little longer to get her half of the garden, filled with beets, cucumbers, and zucchini, picked. Kuro was done before she was, and well, it was better that way - you didn't ever want to keep a lady waiting, even if you were just picking vegetables. After she had put the last beet in its basket, Iku appraised herself. She had managed to avoid getting dirt on her dress like a pro. "Waiting for a guy like you to man up and find me, of course~" Iku replied, brushing a bit of dirt off his face. "Since we're done, why don't we go spend some time together?" Another successful mission. words 342 made by akemi of btn | [atrb=valign, top] waste my time commiserating self-medicating it's my design |
