Izu hadn't put up a struggle and probably wouldn't be able to do much of anything if Kuro decided to wail on him. But that would be too easy, far too simple a punishment for the shit he had just pulled. Perhaps the boy would go for the sword that was planted in the ground not too far away. Yeah, a couple stabs would let out some of that hot air that had inflated Izugetsu's ego. Of course it wouldn't hurt him, they were both Hozuki's and as such had access to the body liquification technique. He'd turn to a puddle for a few moments then pull himself back together.
Then again, if Iku had no knowledge of this she'd think that Kuro actually stabbed Izugetsu and what a sight it would be to see the look on her face. Maybe next time she'd think twice before enjoying a kiss that came from someone other than Kuro. A devilish smile had appeared on the boys face as the thoughts ran through his head, but then conscious came into play. While Kuro had done a decent job at blocking out the filth that was spewing from the girls mouth, except that she seemed to be caring a bit too much about Izu's well-being. Perhaps the two had something going on with each other? Sure, Kuro may flirted with other girls but he never carried on a separate relationship.
Anger now mixed with confusion, a deadly combination, but these new thoughts had prevented Kuro from wrapping his hands around Izu's throat. No, no need to mess up something that was obviously making Iku happy, even if it meant that his and Iku's unofficial relationship was coming to an end. The look on his face switched from devilish to.. nothing. Blank. "Seems she's made her decision." He said coldly before raising off of Izugetsu. Kuro would have offered a hand had he not thought that the boy would use it as an opportunity to seek some sort of revenge.
"Best of luck." The Hozuki added with a small grin before turning to walk off. Had he gone insane? Probably. This was the reason he didn't never entered into serious relationships as someone always got hurt. Granted, there were more than enough women for Kuro to drown himself in just waiting for him, though none as interesting as Iku was. If a girl like that could lose her appeal enough for Kuro to let her be taken by another man then was there any hope that the boy would find something he felt like committing to? Then again, he was only fourteen years old so there was no need to ponder on such questions so early in one's life. Life sure could get crazy sometimes.

Being enraged by the abrupt assault and then tackle caused his emotions to stir, was his words too much? He knew Kuro could take such insults, probably see them as pity, but, perhaps he went a bit too far? Proper hindsight would say so. However, right now his mind was filled with excitement and fearsome want to win this battle of the wits and manhood. Not only did he intend to prove he's the bigger man than Kuro, he's going to take his girl, and gosh, did he anticipate that will feel so great. At least, he thought so. What followed was...a total shock. A blank expression that he remembered all too well due to the death of his mother. On the day he was informed, he stared into the mirror with a blank expression, there was no sadness, no happiness, no emotion at all, simply utter defeat of the soul. It tore him apart. On the brink of collapse, he was going as far as secluding himself from the outside word in anger. His eyes widened, his body shocked with a distinct memory, and his mouth laid open. Some could see this display of reaction as a shock of unexpected victory, but no, this was a reaction of regret. He didn't know what to do, he didn't want Kuro or anyone for that matter, no matter how much of an asshole they may be, to feel such a non-feeling. Kuro got up. He stayed down for a while. His thoughts swarming. The sense of victory eluded him and only disgust with himself remained. " Wh-what...are...you saying!" He yelled at the skies laying on his back. This was not how it should end. " Did you really think...did you think i would just let you walk away with such a defeated expression on your face, after what you've done?" He slowly got up, his body swelling with anger. " You're an Hozuki, you don't give up. You don't LOSE. YOU DON'T WALK AWAY!" Words of his father. The words that only showed him the door to recovery. Tch. " I challenge you to a duel." It was the only thing he thought he could do at this moment. He just couldn't let Kuro walk away and ponder on his thoughts of defeat. " Or have you already given up on thinking you're better than me?" Upright completely at this point. Things certainly was getting interesting. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true]Kuro's rage was pretty surprising, to say the least. She hadn't expected the pretty boy to have so much potential for anger. Of course, she realized in a brief moment of guilt, he probably felt like she'd been cheating on him with Sherbet Head or something. But she hadn't really been in a relationship with either boy, had she? She hadn't gone on any dates with them or done more than give hugs and kisses on the cheek. That did not count as dating in her mind. It was flirting, really, like how Kuro flirted with anyone that had boobs. She didn't think she'd done anything wrong. "Kuro!" she implored, rising from plastic bag, but he was already walking off. "Kuro, wait!" Glancing at Sherbet Head, she could see that he was still pissed off and ready for a fight. But she felt differently. She had never intended to hurt the Hoozuki's feelings so badly. She hadn't thought he cared that much. Iku was able to catch up to him, since he was just slowly walking away, and hugged him from behind. "I'm sorry, Kuro. For everything." she murmured. She did still like him - not as much as she liked Sherbet Head, of course, but feelings didn't just fade at the snap of your fingers or at the moment a decision was made. But she wasn't going to pull some bullshit line, like "I hope we can still be friends," or "it's not you, it's me." That would just make him angrier. "I hope you can forgive me someday."Then she slunk back over to Sherbet Head and smacked him - lightly, of course. She didn't want to mar his handsome face with a hand-shaped mark. "You hush. I know it's not in your nature to just let someone walk away from a fight or whatever, but... It's probably not a good idea to provoke him right now."words 335 tags kuro, izu made by akemi of btn | [atrb=valign, top] hey did you know you've got your eyes on a suicide prize |

Kuro had already conceded Iku as his to deal with and surely would have had much more fun talking with her than spewing out hot air at his clanmate. Dammit, why couldn't he just let it go? The off color Hozuki was only moments out of ear shot, well he would have been had Izugetsu not been shouting. Whatever, the Genin didn't feel like dealing with this... with anything at the moment, maybe never again. He needed time to think things through, why couldn't the imp see that? Kuro nearly stopped walking at the challenge of a duel, but he knew better. He'd just let Izu win to hurry up and get it over with, so there was no point in going through with it.
It was true that Kuro didn't like competition, especially when it came to women so this had hit him pretty hard, but that wouldn't stop him from thinking himself better than Izugetsu. No, that mind set had set in quite some time ago. There was no need to fight because Kuro knew he would win, assuming he didn't throw it, and shaming the short one in front of his girl wouldn't help his already vertically challenged ego.
Then he stopped, or rather, was stopped by someone wrapping their arms around him. Of course it was Iku, probably trying to clear her conscience. Her words went in one ear and out through the other, why did they both have to interfere? Kuro had given them what they both wanted which was each other, and yet they still asked for more. Duels, forgiveness, it was all meaningless. The Genin waited for the girl to release her hold before walking once more. There were no words to be said, nothing needed to be said. Kuro had done enough talking for the time being, now it was time for a change.

He had seen already, that this girl was nothing below Manipulative. It was entertaining, watching the entire scene unfold in front of him- Fuku was sat in one of the many trees that was in the area. To begin with, Fuku was doing paperwork today- or supposed to be anyway. He had saw the young girl first- mountains of bags and shopping. I bet she's broke now. and off he went on his business. Running some documents to fellow Shinobi, he also saw the boy- trudging along in the same direction the girl had took. Some sort of gathering, perhaps or just fate? Fuku only had one guess- the training ground. A popular one at that but today wasn't one of it's peak days.
Unfortunately due to being in a crowd Fuku couldn't carry Samehada around with him, so today he was in plain Civilian clothing, with no intention of leaving the village- bandages around his hands and knuckles going up to his elbows, a shirt going down to his elbows- shinobi pants and Shinobi boots. with some holsters for himself and his standard Katana at the side- and a purple sash around his waist that the Katana's scabbard fit snugly into. This was his real comfy clothing.
Fuku made his way to the training ground- and was up a tree before anyone knew it. He leant against the branch- one leg swinging down and the other propped up against the branch, he was quite relaxing. Some of the insults that were being thrown around were quite amusing to say the least. But it seemed to take a darker turn. Just like in a movie Fuku leaned forward as if to get in closer on the action.
Then the girl struck. Classy. Real classy. Trying to jungle two boys didn't work out so well. Well, if you were a girl as pretty as she was, it could be fathomable. Watching through the action he was just about getting ready to jump down and give them a beasting but he refrained from it.
The boy began walking away, to which Fuku dropped himself down behind the tree and for them, in some sort of blur to them, Fuku appeared a few meters from Kuro at his side.
"Come."
And he looked at the girl, eyes as cold as stone but said nothing, his arms were crossed. Then over to the Hoozuki. He ignored him. "Let's go get something to eat, Kuro-san."

The entire event got out of hand. Iku slapped him in the spur of the moment and ran to cheer up Kuro. Whether it was what he wanted or not, he didn't see it as an act of betrayal or choosing. He had already won in his mind, and he knew this from Kuro's expression. He didn't have the tools nor intelligence to change his mind, and he was nearly as close as he needed to be to break it. However, it didn't stop his eyes from possessing that determination, that will to change things that one had the inadequate power to do so. What more, an another event occurred, a man, commonly famous for being an SSM - Seven swordsman of the Mist, and Mizukage's personal army - pounced from the tree onto the ground. The moment he asked, or more, demanded Kuro to get some lunch, a small smile perked upon his face and he turned around. Walked over to his sword and picked it up from its location. " Iku, i apologize for letting it get this far." His voice more low than before, " I'll see you later." He started walking away, but stopped before taking off, and turned back to Iku, " I still have to keep up my promise to take you out on a date." He uttered with a bright smile. He was gone in a midst of speed. [Exit] Techniques Used: - Shunshin No Jutsu | Consecutive Uses

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true]Kuro's departure nearly brought tears to her eyes - sure, she hadn't exactly expected this whole thing to end well, but she hadn't thought she would wound him so deeply. Iku had thought that he viewed relationships the same way she did - that they were fun and all, but not anything serious, not with actual deep feelings of real love - but apparently she had been wrong. If she could have gone back and picked one of them to begin with, before she ever got involved with either, she would have. Of course, Iku knew what it looked like - like she'd been stringing along two different guys, treating the whole thing like a game (which, at first, she had), not caring whose feelings got hurt in the process. But seeing Kuro walk away like that, it felt like part of her was going with him - she didn't love him, but they had grown close, and she had thought she would always be able to count him among her closest friends. Apparently fate had decided that that was not to be. She saw the Samehada guy, Fuku, drop out of a tree - had he been watching this whole debacle? - and give her the coldest look she'd ever seen on anyone, and she nearly flinched. But then she turned back to Sherbet Head, and some of her sorrow fled. At least she had him. "It's alright." she murmured. "None of this is your fault. It's mine, all of it." I'm horrible. "Heh, well, just a warning - I'm expensive, Sherbet Head." She grinned at him, but it was easy to tell that her heart wasn't in it. And then he, too, departed. Iku went back over to the tree she'd been perched in before any of this happened, and climbed up it - sitting on the same wide branch, knees drawn up to her chest, head resting on her hands. She had a lot to think about, and she would prefer to do so in solitude. words 342 notes end thread made by akemi of btn | [atrb=valign, top] hey did you know you've got your eyes on a suicide prize |

Hearing the deep, familiar voice, however, let him know that this was another presence. Looking up showed the visage of the Samehada wielder whose name he still didn't know, and asking him to go get something to eat. Well, it was more of a pushed suggestion. Kuro didn't want to be around others at the moment, probably not for quite some time, though he doubted that refusing the man was an option.
The Hozuki glanced back, albeit regrettably to see who all was left in the area; he hoped no one. Izugetsu and his sword were gone and Iku had retreated back to her tree, and Kuro didn't mind if she stayed there forever. His teeth gritted before turning back to Fuku, dark hues scanning the man's face to see what he was thinking and of course there was nothing. It didn't take a genius to figure out what would come of this excursion: manly advice, life lessons, so on and so forth and none of which the boy wanted to hear. However, any possibility of getting Iku off his mind was a welcomed one, so perhaps it wouldn't hurt to see what this guy had to say.
"...Yeah." He replied, multiple tones of disappointment in his voice. He honestly didn't know what exactly to expect, but figured that just about anything was better than being stuck in this mood for the rest of the day. Perhaps he would ask the man where his infamous sword was as leaving a sentient killing machine to its own devices probably wasn't the brightest of ideas.

He would deal with her later. But not now. The girl had returned to solitude. And judging by the look, she had pretty much gotten the point. Fuku would be back here later to speak to the girl herself- he would assume she would still be here once he got back from talking with the boy. Seeing her take a seat, he turned to the younger boy. "I know somewhere we can go. I'm hungry." Things seemed to be set in it's stride as it was still quite warm even for this village.
Fuku felt really light without the looming presence of Samehada on his shoulders. It made him feel really light... as he wasn't usually accustomed to being without the sword- a process of training as it was kept next to him at most times.
"Come on then, let's go for a walk."

Fuku left the tent sharply
[ENTER - FROM HERE]
After exiting the tent from having ate his food, he turned back to Kyoko for a moment- their eyes linked and he nodded, she would take care of it. Fuku began to make his way back out of the marketplace- taking in his surroundings as he walked.
Where was he going, you might ask? Back to the root of the problem. It wasn't long before the built up area became quieter, and the surroundings turned into grass and trees; to a training ground. Fuku sighed a little bit. Sometimes it paid just to be ignorant and not get involved. It was too bad. Fuku felt it was owed a small speech after Fuku had met the two of them. They seemed- well- pretty well attached to one another. Fuku found the training ground and after scanning the area, he found a familiar face. He hadn't even been that long and so it wouldn't surprise him to whom it was.
He used a little bit of his speed to whiz through the training ground, and appear next to her on the tree-branch. Fuku just lit a cigarette. It didn't matter if the girl wanted to be in solitude or not- Fuku was going to be there. Not be there for her, but just be there.
"Do you like that boy? The one who kissed you?"

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true]Iku was entirely absorbed in her thoughts, and she was more conflicted now than she had been earlier, before she had chosen her teammate over Kuro. Now she wasn't so sure that she had made the right choice - or that choosing one of them over the other was the right thing to do at all. Maybe she should have just broken it off with both of them, wounded two egos less severely than she had wounded one. It wasn't like she hated Kuro, or thought he was boring or uninteresting or anything like that. He was fun to be around, most of the time, and he had experience with relationships, so he knew what he was doing. It's just that she had figured he was the same kind of person as she was - that he wouldn't get too upset if their relationship, whatever it had been, was over, because he could go out the next day and find another girl to have a little fling with, that he would be over her in a couple of hours because she was 'just another girl.' He was a ladies man, she knew that - he had even tried to flirt with her twin sister in front of her, and he'd at least thought about flirting with that one chick they'd done a mission with. Hell, he had probably tried to flirt with his sensei. That's the kind of guy he was. So she didn't understand why this had affected him so much. Iku nearly toppled out of the tree when Fuku appeared next to her. Holy shit, man, was it necessary to scare the hell out of her? She already felt like shit as it was. "W-well, yeah. He's my teammate, and he's kind of goofy sometimes, but I like him. He's sweet and he has amazing hair and he doesn't complain when I have those girly moments." Iku wasn't sure why she was explaining this to Fuku, of all people, but she had started talking and now she couldn't stop. "At our very first team meeting, he promise he would take me on a date if he was able to complete the exercise. He worked so hard, and part of it was because of me, and that made me feel happy inside. He doesn't flirt with other girls in front of me, and he really likes spending time with me, and... It's not that I like him better than Kuro, b-but I didn't think Kuro was going to react like that... is he alright?"words 441 made by akemi of btn | [atrb=valign, top] hey did you know you've got your eyes on a suicide prize |

Just like Kuro and all those before who would try and receive help from the man- he wouldn't be able to say much. He let her speak and kept his thoughts to his own. He saw that their relationship that was a little bit one sided- and somewhat throttled out of one. Where one side couldn't hug back because there was no air to move in. Fuku sighed a little bit, he kind of realized a little bit why Kuro was doing whatever it was. It was care.
"Look... He's not doing it because he dislikes you. Jeleousy while being an ugly emotion is so vital. He wanted to know you cared. Not in an angry way, but for the pure feeling that what he wanted wasn't going to bite him in the ass. You as a girl should know you're all pretty much heartless at times."
There wasn't any saying no to Fuku, with the way he had said that. Fuku looked at the girl. "Look, I'm not here to be a Dad or a teacher. I'm just a person who's saying it how it is. I don't care if he's fine. He'll get over it." And sometimes, that was just it. Heartless. Fuku had said much much worse both to the higher authority and to his wife in general. It would probably be his death one day.
Absolutely heartless.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true]It sure as hell seemed like Kuro disliked her now. What reason did he have to like her, now that she had chosen someone else? Little things that she had noticed before but taken no mind of had come forth again and made her think that maybe she was just another girl to him. He had avoided her for weeks on end, tried to weasel his way out of taking her on dates or spending time with her. Half the time he seemed annoyed by her mannerisms. Of course, it could be that this whole mess of emotions was distorting her view, blowing things out of proportion - but she didn't realize that, not at the moment. Kuro had looked so broken in that moment when he had conceded to Sherbet Head. He looked like he had been really, truly betrayed. Like there was a part of him that would never be whole again. Iku had trouble believing that his feelings ran that deep, but - that wasn't something anyone could just fake, was it? At any rate, she didn't think that the Hoozuki boy was that good of an actor. Did being the cause of that make Iku heartless? Probably. That was something she couldn't deny in good conscience. "Yeah." she agreed after a few long moments of silence. Honestly, Iku was surprised by Fuku's frank attitude about the whole situation. It was kind of harsh - but, coming from one of the Swordsmen of the Mist, she supposed a harsh attitude wasn't at all out of the ordinary. "Well, yeah, I should hope he'll get over it eventually. I mean.. We're teenagers, and just barely, at that. It's not like me picking Sherbet Head over Kuro is going to ruin his life or anything." Logically, anyway. But emotions didn't always stay on the clearly defined paths of logic. Emotions strayed, became wild and free, did whatever the hell they wanted and totally fucked everything up sometimes. This moment, unbelievably would be the start of a journey.
Whatever the relationship was between them, Fuku couldn't really care all too much. Their problems were their own. Unless Fuku happened to be a Sensei (which by any chance, probably wouldn't happen.) then he wouldn't partake in the affairs of mortals. (That speaking an a completely non-egostical sense. Boys and girls were both incredibly complicated. Though it was far less the case for men.
We are simple creatures. Fuku thought to himself as the girl done her wondering, Fuku shrugged. "You never know." That wasn't excatly the thing that was going to boost her spirits but heck, perhaps it was better to get the frank and bitter facts out of the way and just quite simply- get over it. Speaking of which, Fuku didn't even know what she did. What did she like? Ninjutsu, perhaps? There was only one way of asking. He did think- though that she would be handy using the Ninjato of hers. Maybe. There was only one way to find out.
"You'll get over it and so will he. Question, what is it you work in? What's your clique?" Fuku could easily answer the vice versa by shrugging Samehada. A swordsman. Though he wouldn't tell her that he couldn't use ninjutsu. Not yet, anyway. Maybe. Maybe not.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true]Well, Iku knew who not to go to for sympathy now. Fuku seemed pretty apathetic about the whole situation. Ah, not that he really knew enough about Kuro, Sherbet Head, and herself to really care, unless he'd been having chats with the Hoozuki boys on the side or something. So she supposed it was reasonable that he didn't care, since he was a relative stranger to the whole stupid situation. And she couldn't really blame him for not wanting to get emotionally involved or whatever. Teenagers were kind of a mess. Her expression soured a little bit. "Ever the optimist, I see." she replied dryly. Way to assure her that she hadn't just ruined someone's life forever. Fuku really wasn't good at this sympathy thing. Bah. "Mostly taijutsu. And I've studied both bojutsu and kenjutsu, too." she answered succinctly, knowing that the answer might surprise him. Most people pegged her as a genjutsu type, being that she was female and kind of, well, prissy and because she didn't look the type to prefer punching people in the face to the use of illusions or even ninjutsu. "My chakra control's kind of shitty right now, so I can hardly use ninjutsu and I don't even want to think about genjutsu." It was quite obvious what his specialty was, giant sentient sword and all, though she figured he probably had other abilities she didn't know about. A one-trick shinobi often became a dead one, y'know, so he had to have something else up his sleeve. That was the only reason she was still working on her chakra control - because she wanted to have something else to rely on if she couldn't use taijutsu or a sword for some reason - as frustrating as it might be. Everything was frustrating her recently, it seemed. words 314 made by akemi of btn | [atrb=valign, top] hey did you know you've got your eyes on a suicide prize |
