[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true] Hold your hands into the sky Pray for mercy, instead of time Low budget movies, change our low budget lives There's something to corsets and horror that joins our lonesome minds And these bloody faces with their bloody knives Say if we ever make it We'll be so bloody tired of these times Hold your hands into the sky You are the massacre, the masochist, the tease And you're captivating , standing in front of me There were times when Tera just wanted to curl up in a ball and die. This was most definitely one of them.
It had been a few weeks since the day she had met the sage Izuuna in Kaminari no Kuni's famous hot springs - and lost her virginity to him. The last words he had spoken to her - telling her to get out of the country as soon as she could - still stung, even though she knew he was just showing concern for her safety. And she had done just that - hightailed it out of there as fast as she could and returned to her ramshackle home in Hot Water Country. For a while, everything seemed to go on as usual, except for a few things. Tera had managed to convince the owner of a grocery store to give her a job so she could actually buy some food, she'd quit drinking (mostly out of necessity), and - this was a big and...
She had found out she was carrying his child.
Tera hadn't known what to do. She'd spent most of the day curled up in her bed crying about it. The woman knew she wasn't cut out to be a mother - and there was no way she could ever condemn an innocent child to the kind of life she had to live. There was no way Izuuna would want it, she thought - not that she would ever dare to go to Kumogakure and tell him about the pregnancy in the first place. Not only was that just asking for trouble, but it could also put his life in danger, and she wouldn't do that to him. He had spared her, so she could not condemn him to death, either.
But gods, she couldn't just... just get rid of it. Even if all went well with that procedure, it would kill her inside, knowing she'd snuffed out the light of a life before it even took its first breath. Tera couldn't keep it, but she couldn't get rid of it... what was she supposed to do?
Sometimes she swore at him, in the middle of the night when she had to stay sitting by the toilet because of her constant retching. She cursed his name when she had to get out of bed in the morning and every part of her body was sore. And then she'd feel horrible about it and burst into tears and everything just kept getting worse and worse.
Then, one night, she'd noticed a lone shinobi lurking about - where he was from, she couldn't tell, but his mere existence terrified her. If there were shinobi from the five great nations around here, it was no longer safe. The very next morning, Tera packed her bags, bought a map, and started walking away from the place that had been her home since her father died. She knew it couldn't be good for either her or the baby to be walking all day, but it was better than waiting around for someone to show up and slit her throat and kill them both.
Her destination was Tea Country. And that meant spending a lot of time traveling through Hi no Kuni, a truly frightening experience - but so long as she stayed near the border, she reasoned, it would be alright. It wasn't like she was taking a stroll right outside the country's hidden village. Not to mention she could blend in pretty well if she made a few adjustments to her appearance. Besides... would shinobi really attack a pregnant woman, nukenin or not? She feared that the answer was yes, which made her sick, but any chance was better than no chance at all.
That morning, Tera had checked out of the inn she had stayed the night in, noticeably excited. The inn had marked the halfway point of her journey, which meant she was moving into the peninsula where Tea Country was situated. Of course, she still had a few more days of walking at the least, but she felt so close. She would get to Tea Country and find somewhere to live and everything would be okay again.
Arms cradled around her stomach, the young woman was walking at a leisurely pace through a thicket of trees. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and it was a great day. Tera truly smiled for the first time since that fateful day had ended.
If only the peace could have lasted.
The woman had been humming softly to herself when a dizzy spell hit. She leaned against a tree for support until the waves of nausea and dizziness faded. But just when she was about to wipe the sweat from her brow and move on, she was hit from behind by a fuuton technique that easily bowled her over. She landed face first in the muddy grass, and fear seized her. Someone had been following her.
Tera knew then that she was going to die.
She panicked, managing to get to her feet and form a few hand seals - but she didn't know if this would work, she hadn't used any techniques since becoming pregnant, she didn't know how that would affect her. Thankfully, the sheets of paper complied to her wishes and fluttered around her, forming the wings that had earned her her moniker.
Tera hovered off the ground, searching for her attacker, and caught a glimpse of orange hair as the man ducked behind a tree. She sent a few paper shuriken flying in his direction, but unfortunately they all soared right past him. And while she was distracted doing that - another attack from behind. This time it was a suiton attack - a very sticky one - which pinned her to the ground. She tried to free herself, fluttering her wings and struggling, but to no avail. So she let the papers lose their shape and dissipate, which just made the mess a whole lot messier.
She heard footsteps approaching, and managed to crane her head around to see two men - one with orange hair, one with brown, both with Konoha forehead protectors. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she let them fall, knowing neither man would take pity on her no matter what she said or did. Her arms were pressed against her stomach, and she squeezed her eyes shut, waiting for the inevitable. I guess I couldn't keep that promise after all.
But nothing happened once they were standing in front of her. The brown-haired man looked at his partner and scowled. "This shit isn't any fun. It was too easy. Bitch didn't even fight back."
The other man shrugged. "Hey, I'd rather have an easy kill than be the one going home in a body bag."
"You're not any fun. Come on! Let's make it a challenge. We'll let her up and give her thirty seconds to run, and then we chase her. Whoever takes her down gets an extra share of her bounty. What do you say?" He grinned.
"...whatever, I'm not going to get anywhere by arguing with you." He hefted the crying nukenin to her feet and gave her a little push, causing her to stumble. "Go on. Run. It won't do you any good." He scowled at the brunet and crossed his arms over his chest. "Guess she's not taking her chance. Not like it would have done her any good." He leaned against a tree and observed. If his partner wanted to play that sick little game, he could count him out.
Tera hadn't even registered what the men had been talking about, too busy weeping and wishing she could be anyone else and praying to whatever god might have been out there. So she didn't run as the brown-haired man advanced on her. She scrambled back a few steps, but then he lunged...
And sent a powerful kick straight into her stomach.
She flew backwards, hitting the ground with a loud thud. The orange-haired man laughed, a deranged laugh that sent shivers down her spine. And he advanced again.
By the time he had finished with her, the woman was barely conscious. A dangerous amount of blood was staining the grass around her. She was alive - but surely not long for this world. And her baby...
Well, the pain in her stomach couldn't be a good sign. Not that that would matter for much longer.
Tera managed to curl up somewhat so she could cradle her stomach while she waited to die. Her poor baby had never stood a chance. Tears began to fall anew as she wept for herself and the child that never got to live. I aint gonna play the fool anymore
Shadows of nothing
"What brother? He's dead~ dead~" Kakuzu jolted awake as the memory hit him like a brick wall. God dammit that child still bothered him even two weeks after the fact. What the hell had been her problem? Was she possessed by something? Those eyes, those golden obsidian eyes.... He could still see them in nightmares. It was... unsettling. Determining that he couldn't sleep any longer, Kakuzu pulled himself up onto his feet, using the ancient tree as leverage and started walking once more. Of course first he had to drop down out of the reaches of the ancient yet dead tree, which wasn't very difficult. He found it kind of funny, he had been able to sleep in the open without being caught. Konoha shinobi were so stupid some times. That's right, he was in Hi no Kuni now after having wandered around Mori no Kuni for the longest time. He had no choice but to go through Hi no Kuni in order to get back to his home in the Land of Tea, simply because there was no ship that would sail a nukenin across the sea that parted the two countries otherwise. So the nukenin was making good progress. He surmised that in a couple of days, if he continued on at this pace, he would be able to reach the Tea Country and say good bye once and for all to the Fire Country. That would be nice, after all he did have bitter memories buried within this country. He had been walking since perhaps an hour before dawn. He wasn't growing tired in the least, not for someone that was used to wandering as much as he was. So he didn't bother stopping for a break anywhere unless he wanted to refill his water canister or go to the bathroom. Instead he mostly kept walking on a path that would have bordered the coast if only it weren't for the thick shinobi patrols around that area. So he walked on a path that took him a ways away from the coast and closer border with the wave country. In fact he had finally managed to see the boarder today and was walking along it towards the Tea Country for perhaps a good few hours. But then he heard something. A laugh of some sort and... was that the sound of spewing blood? He knew he should likely have left the bastards to their dastardly game, however curiosity took a strong hold upon him and he simply had to investigate. Let's just say he was glad he did. "I can tell you don't like fighting, but promise me this. At least do your best to survive until our next encounter. I don't like to leave debts unpaid." It was a little difficult at first to tell, but after a long stare that lasted perhaps a minute he was able to discern just who it was that they had made their toy, and upon figuring it out his rage boiled over. Those bastards. How dare they harm her! Already the threads in his left arm were squirming and twitching uncontrollably just itching to fight and tear those two ass holes apart. Soon enough they all breached the area where his arm had once been sliced off and spewed from between the seams of his flesh. Their ceaseless twitching soon caught the attention of one of the two men as he approached slowly yet menacingly. It was the orange haired one that had spotted him as the other was too busy having his fun. Almost immediately upon seeing him his face at first seemed to go pale but then, a sharp grin spread across it. At long last he had a challenge! Well the challenge wasn't long to last. He soon realized he was out matched, however escape was inevitable. Kakuzu tore out his throat. He soon converged upon the other loyal shinobi that had been with him. Lurking behind him like a shadow assassin ready to strike except without hiding his presence one bit. The man, still too preoccupied with his prize, didn't realize until it was too late. Kakuzu grasped him by the neck and swung him up into the air. Then, he took him for a ride, releasing his arm and letting it reel outward like a fishing line. He bashed the man against the ground, brought him upwards and swung him over head, then bashed him on the ground again as hard as he could. Afterwards Kakuzu pivoted his whole body as he swung the man around and threw him as high up into the air and as far as he could. If he survived the onslaught, it wouldn't be without several broken bones. Once the two bastard shinobi were out of the way, Kakuzu turned towards the woman that had once saved him from this very same position a little over a year ago. Kneeling down next to her, he examined the extent of her injuries. "I told you didn't I? You were supposed to survive." He reeled his left arm back in and by the time it returned to him the threads were once again squirming about as they snaked their way towards her body. "Don't worry, I won't let you die. However, this will be painful, so bare with me." He pulled her curled up form into his lap and tenderly held her there with his right arm as his left arm hovered over her abdomen where the damage was the worst. Then, the threads shot out to pierce her flesh and sew every last bit back into its proper place, inside and out. It would be a long and painful process, but it would at least, hopefully, save her life.

"Come on. You've had your fun. Let's leave." He was beginning to grow unnerved by his partner's actions. "It figures they'd put me with a fucking psycho..." He moved to grab his partner, but then... Entertainment arrived.
Tera was able to discern the arrival of a third person, and curled in on herself even further. Another friend of these men? Someone else that wanted to hurt her? Not like it mattered anymore. Soon, she would be no more, and there wasn't anything anyone could do about it.
I'm not going to die. I promise. She had assured him of it with a smile on her face, that day that seemed so far away now. And she had never seen him again, and he probably wouldn't even know that she hadn't kept her promise. That was another reason to weep. He may have been one of, if not the most notorious nukenin in the world, but he had seemed like a genuinely nice person.. and knowing that she let him down made her feel even more miserable.
The insane laughter stopped... had the men left her alone at last? No. There was still someone. At least, she thought there was... maybe it was an angel, a real, live angel. If she had been able to, she might have laughed. There were no angels where she was going to end up, were there?
The angel, or man, or whatever he was approached. Tera opened her eyes to squint up at him, and... Oh. "It's you." she mumbled. So it seemed like he was getting a chance to repay his debt in kind after all. But, as far as she knew, he didn't know how to use medical ninjutsu like she did... Or did he? She didn't really know. "Sorry... Kakuzu."
She whimpered when he moved her into his lap. Everything hurt.. it hurt so bad... Tera wished she could just stop feeling. Especially when the man's threads pierced her body. She just wanted it to be over, whether she lived or she died - just so long as the pain went away. I aint gonna play the fool anymore
Shadows of nothing
"Shhh, don't talk." He hushed her as he heard her words. So she really had tried to abide by the promise she had made him. That was good, however, he had known it would have been difficult for her. He had already determined she was not the fighter type. Not meant for the front lines. So then, perhaps she was more meant for something like... defense perhaps? As the threads pierced through the flesh of her precious womanly part, Kakuzu's eyes widened.
There were strong signs of something he had never expected from her. Had she been pregnant? "I... never expected that..." He was almost speechless.... almost, "You..." He felt almost a little panicked now. Was her child alright? A little bit of further investigation with his threads told him the sad truth. It had perished in the attack. What a darn shame. So he continued to piece together all of her maimed pieces and parts, and after the passing of about ten minutes, he finally pulled his left arm away from her weakened form tightening the last stitch so that it would remain in place without fail. By this point, all of her wounds had been sealed up, stitched together by his own hand.
"I'm sorry Tera," He slowly took her into his arms and carefully moved the woman to what would be a relatively comfortable position for her on his back. Standing up now, he carefully hooked his arms around her legs and slouched forward a small bit so her arms could just hang lifelessly over his shoulders if she so chose. "I have to say, I'm glad I let my curiosity get to me. Otherwise... An innocent woman would have died today." He spoke what he felt was truth. There was no sign of malice in her what so ever, and that, to him, made her innocent. She didn't seem like that type that would wish harm on anyone, and that event a little over a year ago had proven that to the bounty hunter.
"I hope you don't mind if I take you with me to the Tea Country," he spoke in a hushed tone so no eavesdroppers could over hear them. After he spoke, he paused for a moment thinking, and after several long moments, shifted her weight to his right hand as he held out his left. Then, with an explosion of black thread from his bicep area, two creatures spawned before them, both of them appearing to be beaked creatures of some sort, one quadruped with wings, and the other biped. Kakuzu then sent them forth, both taking to the skies like a fish to water, in order to make sure their trip would remain safe.
Afterwards Kakuzu re-hooked his left arm under her left leg and began to walk. It would take a few days to reach the tea country, but so long as he was careful, they should reach it without being detected. He only hoped that Amaterasu would hold out. "I hope that you don't mind that I carry you there. If you move too much on your own, they could come undone." He spoke as though she were still conscious, kind of in a vague hope that she would be, but for all he knew, she could have been out like a light by now.

[atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=border,0,true]i pretend i'm used to being alone 270 Introducing Hishin~! Eyes ablaze with a fury of that a Hyūga could muster; this day had taken it's turn for the worse. Hishin's Byakugan had been activated to find none-other than the nearest town. He saw one, but also saw something else. He was at his maximum range with the Byakugan; he focused in and there it was. A woman. Being attacked. His speed was kicked into high gear- he had seen it all. His muscles burned and his throat was dry but he carried moving. Although he was quick, he wasn't quick enough to cover that distance and before these two Shinobi attacking the woman were stopped by another Shinobi. This did not diminish the fire in his heart- they went down. He was a friend. But he could see all of it; and that was terrifying. Sometimes- it was a curse of the Byakugan. You could see very far; and sometimes... You saw things you didn't want to. If she was a nukenin, there was a possiblity Hishin could gain from it- a bounty perhaps. Or the other Shinobi. Or she could be a civilian? Who knew. His suspicions were averted when focused on their chakra systems. One was in it's entirety- weird. Very weird to he could see chakra writhing around in his body. She had a trained chakra pool. Both shinobi. As they were about to leave, he slowed down- walking. Breaking through the landscape, he saw the both of them. The veins in his head were popping out like anything- but his eyes were emerald. He began to get closer, hands up in a passive manner. "I saw all of it... I was... a while away. Is everything alright?"

She didn't feel that her life was worth living, but she didn't want to die. Not so young, not without having some of the experiences she had always dreamed of. But at the same time, she felt an incredibly sense of guilt. Her life had been saved - but there was nothing the man could do to help her poor baby. She didn't blame the Konoha shinobi for its death - nor Kakuzu for being unable to save it. Her baby's death was entirely her fault. If she hadn't left the relatively safety of her home to travel through Fire Country, this wouldn't have happened. If she wasn't such a coward, maybe she could have fought back and drove the men off instead of being helpless in the face of their attacks. If she had never met Izuuna in the first place, she never would have gotten pregnant and never would have had to feel her baby dying. She had never wanted a child - but she had grown so attached to the little life growing inside her, she had loved it regardless. And now it was gone and it was all her fault.
She began to cry again, clinging to the other nukenin for support. "M-my baby..." There were no threads that could stitch her broken heart back together. This was a wound Tera felt she would never heal from - and why should she? Why should she be able to rid herself of the grief and the sadness and everything else when she had caused it in the first place by being so foolish? How could she have thought that everything would go right and nothing bad would happen? She felt so stupid. No, stupid didn't even begin to cover it - there weren't any words for how she felt. Just a sense of loss and emptiness and brokenness that occupied her entire being.
Tera didn't protest the way he positioned her, or their destination - she had been heading there anyway, after all - or him carrying her. She didn't feel like she could stand right now, let alone finish the walk to Tea Country.
Her mind felt a little fuzzy, her whole being tired. Kakuzu stopped talking, or maybe she just stopped hearing him, and she began to drift off into the world of unconsciousness, where maybe she could find a little reprieve from all the emotions. By the time the redheaded man found his way into the little clearing, she was too far out of it to tell him that no, nothing was alright, and it would never be alright. I aint gonna play the fool anymore
Shadows of nothing
As her sobs rang out in his ear he closed his eyes for a moment forcing back the feeling of his own need to cry. This woman, Amaterasu, was bringing to surface emotions he had thought he had buried long long ago. Shaking his head, instead the man heaved a heavy sigh. It was a sad day today. A baby would never see the light of day.
He understood all too well why she was crying. He would not stop her.
When the stranger appeared the first thing on the Bounty Hunter's mind was to raise his guard. For the sake of both his and his ward' s protection. As such the two avian masked creatures landed on the ground between Kakuzu and Tera and the newcomer. They left enough room between the two of them for Kakuzu to still be able to see the red haired, emerald eyed man. His own crimson and pupil-less emerald eyes would study the newcomer closely. Even harshly.
"They're dead and her life was saved...." He spoke after a long silence fell between them, "However, no, everything is not fine, but they say..." He backed up slightly, "That time heals all wounds." He knew for a fact that this wasn't true. He himself still felt the gaping hole left in his chest when he was forced to flee from his village and the woman he loved. When he was forced to become a traitor just because he wanted to live.
Was it so wrong to yearn for life?
Well it certainly was wrong to end one before it even started. Again Kakuzu shook his head and heaved a slight sigh. There would be a lot of heavy thoughts on his mind for days to come. "Tell me, who are you and why shouldn't I gut out your throat like him." He gestured moving his head a bit, towards the orange haired man laying collapsed on the ground bleeding out still.

[atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=border,0,true]i pretend i'm used to being alone 336 tera+kakuzu NOTES Hishin sighed. Sometimes this were also a curse yet a blessing. People did not know who he was- it was a due fact because of Hishin's dyed hair and colored contact lenses. Hishin stayed silent for a few moments, his eyes wandering over to the woman who was long gone from the land of the living; her mind had wandered off to the place where it would be most comfortable, to Hishin it was anyway.
When his name was asked; Hishin stopped for a moment. There was no need to lie- it was clear that it had been established that this was a meeting of nukenins. "My name? heh.." he took one of his hands up to his eyes- "For one, you wouldn't be able to touch me, let alone gut me." This rung with a hint of truth, and Hishin took out the second contact lense- bringing his hand down into his pockets to reveal beautiful lavender eyes. "My name is Hyūga Hishin, student of the late Nidaime Hokage, and true heir to the position of Hokage in lieu of the Yondaime." those words were spat with complete venom; the Yondaime only posed one name to Hishin's mind. Senju Shiratama. He was now sure that these two might know who this was- who they were standing before.
Hishin did have inevitable quench to kill these two- but he would suffice from the death of the nearby Shinobi that the quota of bloodshed had been filled for him. Even though not by his hand- no more lives would have to visit the Shinigami today. "I'm sure you're aware of what a capable Hyūga can do, much less what the ex-clan leader and ex-Hokage candidate could do." Hishin wanted to make some sort of comment about the man's anatomy. It was... weird to say the least. The veins on Hishin's face began to retract and soften- his Kekkai Genkai had been deactivated and for now, it would remain that way.

Kakuzu shifted his weight slightly being careful not to let Amaterasu slip off of his back. So this man was indeed another rogue shinobi. Good to know. Not only that but he seemed to be quite the truthful man. A good aspect to have. His eyes told him that everything he had said had been truth when he revealed their true hue. Now the veins that had once bulged along the sides of them certainly made sense. He was a true blue Hyuuga. Likely with dyed hair so as to help hide his identity. Smart.
"I see I have no reason to lie to you." He shifted Amaterasu's weight on his back slightly and secured her into place using the threads that lined his body, however only snuggly, so as to not accidentally cut off her blood circulation. "I am formerly an ANBU of Takigakure. My name is Mizushima Kohaku Hikari, however I am usually referred to those not hunting my head simply as Kakuzu." He started to walk now, they had no time to waste and he didn't want to risk more Konoha shinobi arriving upon the scene.
"If you wish to follow, that is your own decision. I will not stop you, however, remember this. I have far more experience than any other shinobi you have ever met. What you may think is impossible for the enemy to achieve is mere child's play to me." With that said, he headed off into the forest traveling south towards the land of tea.

[atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=border,0,true]i pretend i'm used to being alone 279 Yoo~ NOTES He listened with intent, a rarity among many shinobi. Usually their downfall as well. That was interesting, a former shinobi of Takigakure? That was a name of a village he had long since heard and even then he had never actually come face to face with one of them himself. "Well, Kakuzu-san. I'm sure we could benefit from one another." That was nothing but the truth. Hishin could use them and if it came to the time they would be more useful as gold in his pocket then so it would be. Hishin would begin to follow them, per his own subtle invitation and the threat that came with it. Hishin chuckled.
"A Lion does not fear the opinions of Gazelle." in other words, Hishin was only replying 'Whatever' to it. He did stay a fair distance from them, as to not enroach so suddenly on the space that so many ninja could close in a second. And fair to say, many did. He did not need to look at him to know he was safe. But what of the two creatures? Activating his Byakugan and his vision returning, He also took the time to put his contacts back in- and to view the area around him. Just in case, you could never be too certain.
"Other than that town, we've got nobody around for over two kilometers." and he looked over to Kakuzu. "How long has it been since you defected?" Hishin was actually pretty interested about the background of this particular Nukenin- Takigakure was the main reason. Hishin wanted to find more about the illusive village that he had never really took the chance to research about.

I aint gonna play the fool anymore
Shadows of nothing
How many years or rather decades had it been indeed. Kakuzu had been keeping count of his own age in the years, something any normal person did, and it wasn't like he could simply forget how old he was when he fought and failed to kill the shodai hokage. He stopped for a moment, but only a moment before he started walking again. It wasn't difficult to think really, he just wanted Hishin to walk a bit closer.
You know what they say: Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
"Hmm... How many years has it been... Let me think for a moment." He had to do a bit of math in his head. Let's see here. He was sixty-one now so and he was thirty-two when he fought the shodai so.... about twenty-nine years, right? So three decades isn't much of an exaggeration at all. "About three decades. Yourself?" He didn't actually care too much to know really anything about this man, no this was simply conversation to, you know, pass the time. Of course if Hishin dared delve further into Kakuzu's history he would certainly find himself met with a brick wall, or rather in Kakuzu's case, a writhing black tentacle wall.
As the two nukenin walked together, one of them carrying a third member of the party, the two beasts crafted from Kakuzu's own threads once again took to the skies and made sure to keep a close eye on the surrounding area so as to prevent anyone from sneaking up on the group. Of course, Hishin could easily do this himself, but Kakuzu felt a bit more secure having his own means of protection without relying on a near complete stranger.

Was it seriously that many years? Decades? Hishin showed no sign of getting closer- but kept to himself. It was an odd bit of a walk. He never really found himself in the presence of other Nukenin much less Nukenin that hadn't been overly hostile or just outright attacked him. Of course out in the open- in the villages, both Shinobi and non- things were a lot calmer. People didn't like making a fuss, and especially in front of many people, some towns usually always had a Shinobi or group patrolling. Just paying the town homage and protection, to make them feel like they were actually being protected by something. Hishin replied back monotonously- the famous voice that made the Hyūga one of the more annoying people to speak to.
"I don't know, really. Probably no more than a decade. Keh, my oldest kid is only still seventeen." Seventeen years was a long time- a long time to be away from his family too. It hadn't been seventeen years, but Hishin had missed out on more than most of his life which he couldn't particularly say he was fond of as a parent. He harboured no ill feelings towards the child- as that was what he was. A child. Until he proved himself otherwise. Hishin wasn't quite sure what he would do once he saw his son again. If he was still under the arms of Konohagakure's will of fire he couldn't exactly give the boy a hug lest he get a strike to the heart. And it wasn't like he wouldn't take his son with him. That would be a great feat; father and son united against the world. He liked the ring of that.
"So. Where are you headed, why are you and why in the hell is your body different?" that hadn't quite intentionally come out the way he had liked so he had to make do with the fact, contending with that he knew about his opponents jutsu.

I aint gonna play the fool anymore
Shadows of nothing
"Hey Kouhi-nee, what are you doing?" The young Hikari stared at the young lady as she collected various books and ninja tools into a pack. "I'm going on a trip, Kohaku-nii." Hikari cocked his head to the side and blinked showing an evident sign of confusion, "A trip? To where?" Kouhi turned to him a big grin on her face, "All the way to the land of tea. Hehe... You won't be seeing me for a while Kohaku-nii." Hikari lifted up his hands and slammed them on the ground, "WHAT! WHAT WILL I DO WHILE YOU'RE GONE!? EVERYONE IN THE VILLAGE HATES ME! I CAN'T DEAL WITH THAT!"
"Sorry but you'll have to be strong just this once." Why was it that memory of all memories that came back to him now? I was such a random memory for him to be thinking about from back when he was just a newbie genin. That was perhaps one of the saddest days in his young life, but in his entire life, one of the least meaningful. So why it? "It's a secret technique called earth grudge fear, that has altered my body. I won't go about explaining it to you." He ignored the other question about where they were going as he didn't expect the red head to follow them the entire way there. Especially since Kakuzu planned to some how ditch him later on, likely by growing his wings and taking to the sky. He knew Hishin's Byakugan would allow him to track them easily, but if they were in the sky, they should easily be able to out run Hishin and lose him in the long run. That was the plan anyway. The only issue was, Hishin knew what Kakuzu looked like now. Not only physically, but chakra wise. He could likely easily pick Kakuzu out of a dense crowd of people, which meant, he could likely easily find them when ever he wanted so long as he happened to be near by at the time. That, could prove to be an issue. "Why are you so interested in me, hm?" This question was meant more of a precaution, and the tone in Kakuzu's voice would likely be able to tell Hishin that he didn't like the more personal questions. He didn't care for other people's pasts, so why should other's care about his own, hm? It made no sense to him at times, after all, now there seemed to be two nukenin too many that wanted to get to know him. God Dammit Shou.

Hishin grinned, he knew where this was going. He kept silent, but his features remained the same. Fortunately for him, Hishin was pretty good at sensing people; like... when people lied. Fluctuations of chakra, and all that. Sure, he wasn't lying but Kakuzu seemed alright so far. But he liked his privacy as you could tell. Unfortunately, Hishin had seen enough. "It's a pleasure to have met you Kakuzu. I'm going now. Maybe I will see you again another time."
Hishin took the opposite direction, keeping his Byakugan activated.

I aint gonna play the fool anymore
Shadows of nothing
This man, Hishin, wasn't too bad of a man. Perhaps he could even help bring Kakuzu's plans to fruition one day, but for now, Kakuzu simply didn't want to see or hear the man. So when the Hyuuga had decided to part ways, Kakuzu was actually kind of glad that he had. After all, he had quite a bit on his mind, plus he needed to pay attention to his surroundings rather than a talkative nukenin at the moment in order to keep himself and his ward safe.
Soon enough, three days passed there after. Kakuzu remained ever vigilant in keeping himself and the unconscious Tera under the radar of enemy shinobi. It was quite easy really as he started to travel at night so no one would be able to spot his flying companions as they surveyed the area around the two traveling nukenin. On the third day at dawn, Kakuzu finally passed the border between the Land of Fire and the Land of Tea. As the sun slowly climbed into the sky, he even saw a small town in the distance. It wasn't his own destination, but it would likely be a good stopping point to rest up before traveling the rest of the way to the mercenary town. However, when Kakuzu felt the once limp form of the injured woman begin to stir, he stopped where he was in the shade of a grove of trees and turned his head a bit to look back at her, or at least somewhat. "How're you feeling?"
