NOTES 3874/5000 i've been a bad, bad girl ♥ what i need is a good defense 'cause i'm feeling like a criminal Iku was glad she had at least some pain tolerance; the ache in her head was strong, but secondary to her desire to take the woman down. Despite the woman not exactly fighting like a jonin, she certainly had a few tricks up her sleeve that made her a little harder to deal with. More importantly, she was going to ask Fuku to help her build up her pain tolerance some more next time she saw him. She was sure he wouldn't spare her any blows - he never did. Iku was a little nicer to people she sparred with... sometimes, anyway.
Jojo employed a basic replacement technique to avoid the kick - a wise move, and one Iku probably wouldn't have thought of herself. She so rarely used ninjutsu that she didn't even think to include what little she knew - the basic academy five - in battle plans. Not that they would really help her most of the time... Ninjutsu was an art she needed to spend some more time learning if she ever got the chance. A one-trick shinobi was often a dead one, though she couldn't imagine she'd be able to utilize ninjutsu if, for some reason, she couldn't use Kubikiribouchou or taijutsu.
Now, this move seemed utterly unremarkable until she heard the distinct sizzle of an explosive tag. "Ah, fuck." She tried to bat it as far away as she could with Kubikiribouchou, but was still caught in the blast. Her sword sustained a tiny little crack from taking the brunt of it. That was no big deal; a little blood and her blade would fix itself up good as new. Damn useful, that was.
She had lost track of Jojo for a moment, too focused on making sure she didn't get blown to bits, but the woman gave away her position by tossing a multitude of shuriken at her. Each met the unrelenting steel of her blade and ricocheted off, embedding themselves in the muddy ground. But then she noticed something. The thrown shuriken didn't have much of an impact - they were very slightly weaker than what she would expect, having seen Jojo's strength. And they were a little slow, too. Some sort of clone? "Tsk, tsk, Jojo-chan. Hiding behind a clone now, are you?" Iku sought out the clone and aimed to slice it in half with Kubikiribouchou - since she knew it wasn't the real Jojo, there was no harm in brutally taking it down. |

YOUR HAIR IS DANCING IN THE WIND, YOUR EYES ARE BURNING OFF MY SKIN. | [atrb=width,320]Jojo was grateful that her clone at least led the woman in the opposite direction, but that was not going to be all that much useful if her clone could not do its job and work around with the eventful standpoints that Jojo herself needed. She could already tell that Iku was well out of her league, how Jojo could ever assume she stood a chance was something quite out of whatever norm she could possible say. However, Jojo’s own self would connect with her clone, the clone made up of a dozen crows and as she would connect, the connection allowed Jojo to speak through the clone while also know what she could do as well. The clone moved on its own accord while she would say with a certainty, “Behind a clone or in a clone, whichever could it be?” She would say with a diminutive status of speech, there was plenty of time between the two of their positions, and the clone Jojo knew the skills she could utilize best in this situation at the least. Therefore, with such things set in motion, the clone began forming hand seals and performed the scattering of thousand crows jutsu. One Iku already had seen just moments ago while Jojo’s clone would summon them and then jump backwards, with the throw of two more shuriken. It would be now that, granted Iku’s course of speed if it remained nominal, would be barraged once more by the summoning of a thousand crows. The clone of Jojo throwing any weapon she had attached with explosive tags into the midst of the crows and such. The real Jojo however transverse to a nearer tree, attaching three shuriken to three paper bombs as she would hold her eyes steady and plot out how to perfect the attack. By the off chance that the barrage of crows actually did catch Iku again, Jojo’s own weaponry would then be thrown in towards the back of Iku, her abilities were weak but at best she hoped to at least prove that she can become useful in some account one day, it was all she wanted and this fight only showed how weak she really was. She needed to at least prove something worthwhile, her mind calculating her low chakra and the small arsenal of weapons left for her use. It was just going to have to happen for what it was worth. |

NOTES 4241/5000 i've been a bad, bad girl ♥ what i need is a good defense 'cause i'm feeling like a criminal The one thing Iku knew for sure as she advanced on the clone to slice it in half was that she was going to find whoever came up with this annoying crow technique, and she was going to kill him or her, slowly and painfully, then string the person up and let their own crows feast on their flesh. Seriously, it was really damn annoying to have a whole murder of crows pecking at you. But she didn't let them stop her - they weren't really hurting her, and with the awesomeness of Kubikiribouchou, she was able to make her way through the mass of stupid birds at a very slightly reduced speed.
Jojo's shuriken flew right into Kubikiribouchou and she batted them away, swearing under her breath. "These crows are just too damn annoying." She swatted away another kunai, which exploded a few moments after it made contact with her blade. "Well, somebody likes explosions. Why do you want to blow me up so badly, Jojo-chan?" She sent the next few weapons flying right back at Jojo's clone, and they detonated right in the clone's face. If that wasn't enough to destroy the copy of the woman - why it wouldn't be was a mystery to Iku - she would lunge forward and slice the damnable thing in half.
Now she just had to coax Jojo out of her hiding place without allowing the woman to get the jump on her. She had to be running low on weapons, and maybe chakra - Iku didn't know how big the woman's chakra pool was, but she doubted it was jonin-level because Jojo wasn't fighting like a jonin, she was far weaker than Iku except for in ninjutsu... Iku's own chakra pool was pretty small, which was why she had focused so much on bukijutsu to begin with, and didn't know any ninjutsu besides the academy five. But who knows - the woman could end up surprising her, but Iku honestly doubted it.
"Come out, come out, wherever you are~ Don't you hide from me, Jojo-chan, or I might have to punish you when I find you." |

YOUR HAIR IS DANCING IN THE WIND, YOUR EYES ARE BURNING OFF MY SKIN. | [atrb=width,320]
Jojo’s clone had witness the weaponry all flying back at her, her own eyes widening as she would be caught in all the explosive flames, yet as it occurred Jojo would speak through the clone, the birds of crows flying away, separating from the ethereal clone into the despair of the night air. This clone coming into a field of decisive knowledge would bring this into momentary forefront knowledge, “Find and search when you can, but you will not capture nor take care to control me.” This clone then dispersed, the birds, three of the remaining twelve still living flew off with their bursts of caws through the air. Jojo herself would pop her neck, as she was a good ways away from this, as she would nod, her eyes looking out and with a byproduct of selectivity, she would move out to her performances and flee. Naturally, her fleeing was a maker of throwing her final kunai with a paper bomb attached to it while rushing away, her hands grappling trees as to get away. This fleeing was cowardly but at the same instance was the only natural choice for her to go under; it was the instance of which she would enter in a general forefront.

NOTES 4597/5000 i've been a bad, bad girl ♥ what i need is a good defense 'cause i'm feeling like a criminal The clone of crows dispersed back into individual birds, and Jojo's voice rang out. Iku swore. "Really, Jojo-chan? You're going to make me chase you?" she pouted, swatting the last kunai away with Kubikiribouchou right before it exploded. She slung the sword over her back and headed in the direction that the kunai had come from, ready to chase the woman until she couldn't run anymore. Man, it really irritated her when people decided that running away was the best course of action... It was a freaking spar, for fuck's sake, it wasn't like she was going to get seriously hurt or die or anything. Now she had to expend all this extra effort chasing the woman down, only to end the fight in a few minutes at most - what was the point? What was the point in wasting someone's time like that? This fight had a foregone conclusion, and if not for her desire to take out her anger, Iku would have just left and let the woman look silly, running around without an opponent.
Iku was beginning to get angry. And when Iku was angry... things weren't pretty. When she was angry, she did stupid shit - like trying to slit her sister's throat or taunting Fuku into nearly killing her or just generally flying into a violent rage and taking said rage out on whatever - or whoever - was around her. Fuku had told her time and time again to learn how to control her emotions, and in the past couple of years she had made decent progress, but fuck, she didn't have perfect control, and Jojo would find that out as soon as Iku caught up with her - not that that would take long. The woman was already in her sights, and...
Iku put on an extra burst of speed and launched herself at Jojo, tackling the woman to the ground. After setting Kubikiribouchou off to the side so as to avoid any unfortunate accidents, Iku straddled her hips and pinned her hands. "Why did you want to run away from me, Jojo-chan?" |

That speed, it was the most incredible thing that Jojo could ever have seen and yet with such a problematic thing as that. Jojo could only think of survival, what could be the best fit for survival. She would be looking upon Iku who had launched at Jojo while she was grappling tree to tree, her vine that was wrapped around one of these trees snapped, intensified pain spread though her body as her shoulder felt like it was dipped in molten iron. She had fallen to the ground, her eyes looking up at Iku who had tackled her down with her eyes looking up, pain glancing through them as she would feel her arm red from the pain. All the while, she was pinned to the ground, her hands pinned down, and her eyes wavering as she looked up while her hips were pinned down by the straddled body frame of Iku upon her flesh. She could only see what was in front of her, yet to the side of her head, through her peripherals, she saw the giant beheading sword to the side. She was going to die was now? This was just far too soon in life for her to die in her eyes.
Jojo did one thing, one thing she knew she could do so that she could live and although it was one thing she was not the most comfortable with, she knew it was one thing that she could utilize to the fullest of her capabilities. Her feet, the soles of her feet, let the vines come out and as they came out, her eyes kept trembling, kept the appearance of scared shitless in her eyes and face while the vines came out from her feet until finally pushing against the shoulder blades of this individual downwards. In attempt of pushing that body down to then enter a kiss, a kiss from Jojo’s lips upon Iku. This was only to happen if her actual eventual vines from her feet actually successfully pushed Iku down far enough to kiss. Jojo’s body coming the extra distance upwards to kiss in full effort to keep herself safe. It was the only thing she needed to do to survive in her eyes, do something to befuddle the girl long enough for her to get away as it would be. It was the only way she knew she could utilize to the fullest effect.

NOTES 5057/5000 i've been a bad, bad girl ♥ what i need is a good defense 'cause i'm feeling like a criminal Iku winced sympathetically when she saw what she had accidentally done Jojo's arm by tackling her, but hey, it wasn't anything that wouldn't heal. She ended up with worse injuries in training all the time, mostly because she didn't know when to quit...
Kubikiribouchou was set safely to one side, laid out next to Jojo, but the fear in the woman's eyes clearly showed that she had expected something else to come of the chunin brandishing the sword, which Iku could kind of understand. The Swordsmen of the Mist weren't exactly known for being friendly. Hell, she had gotten her sword because a couple of Swordsmen had decided to have a death match in the middle of the village, for heaven's sake. But Iku wasn't like that. She wouldn't kill a comrade in a spar, especially a weaker comrade that couldn't match her power. Going all out against someone like Fuku was entirely different from fighting someone like Jojo, and unlike some, she knew the difference.
The girl was too busy studying Jojo's face to notice that a pair of vines had emerged behind her, slinking up and hitting between her shoulder blade, pushing her down closer to the woman. Admittedly, she was a little startled, but it wasn't nearly as shocking as what the woman did next. She had pushed Iku into a kiss, of all things... Hell, she had no idea why, but hey, might as well roll with it.
If there was one thing Iku knew how to do, disregarding all shinobi skills, it was kiss. And she was certainly going to show Jojo that. The woman wasn't going to be able to wriggle her way out of a long, somewhat lusty kiss now that she'd initiated it. It wasn't like the girl had any kind of feelings for the woman - those feelings were reserved for a certain someone - but she could certainly pretend to.
After a while, she pulled way and grinned at the woman. "Why, Jojo-chan, if you wanted a kiss, all you had to do was ask, you know." Jojo would probably be embarrassed by Iku's comments, but she had brought it on herself. And once Iku started flirting with someone... well, it took a lot to get her to stop, being that she was a flirt through and through. "I didn't know you liked girls. I'm pretty straight myself, but hey, I'll try anything once. And you are a cutie~"
The rain was still pouring down and both of them were soaked through to the bone by now, but Iku didn't even seem to notice. She was too preoccupied with teasing Jojo. |

The kiss had been successful, maybe too successful in Jojo’s eyes, as she had actually managed to plant it in before her blushing face had then been introduced to being kissed back. That was something she had not expected in her moments of this while inevitably she would note how long the kiss had been going while lusty, as it was she just trembled inevitably in this manner. Her eyes looking into those of this woman when she had pulled away, the moment that she could not get out of her head at all while she would only feel the embarrassment coming up to her even more. The very mannerism of what this person had done, she would feel this person saying something of asking even, that did not sit well with her at all. Jojo would steadily shake her head, shaking it saying, “No, no I swear I’m straight…”
Jojo’s denial came out and she just could bear all this teasing that incorporated everything that was happening. Her blushing face just could not seem to shake away with the denial she said. She did the next thing she could do, the only next thing that she could possibly do in this performance as her head would move to the side, looking only to the side. She could attempt to keep her eyes off of Iku at any instance, her vines already having retracted from her feet as which she would tremble and continually hope and pray to get out of this mess alive and well. Jojo had done her best in this fight, her best having been actually a destructive formulation of failures following through her own mental concept of her neutral habitation of thought process in such a thing. Her strength and vines, her ninjutsu being the only redeeming feature she had here that happened to be utterly wasted in this fight.
It could be then that she be known for being a waste of space as a shinobi, her eyes closing for only a moment when she would haphazardly start to know how weak and a failure to shinobi she was. Her knowledge of any idea of what she was could only be signified as an entirely weaker individual for her own life. “I am weak, weaker than anyone my own age and weaker than those younger than me. It is a wonder I’ve survived this long.” Jojo would meagerly keep her eyes to the side, immediately turning herself hopefully from desirable to basket case in this situation that was brewing in her mind and mental capacity of which she would struggle and hope to believe all she could understand.

NOTES 5583 i've been a bad, bad girl ♥ what i need is a good defense 'cause i'm feeling like a criminal Apparently Jojo hadn't expected that Iku would be so responsive. Honestly, that amused her. Why would you kiss someone if you didn't want them to kiss you back? The thought that Jojo was trying to distract her didn't even cross her mind, but hey - the tactic had certainly been successful, even though Iku had never had any intention of harming her further anyway.
Iku tilted her head to the side, giving Jojo a quizzical look. Why would you kiss another girl if you were totally straight? Eh, oh well. She shrugged. "Whatever you say, Jojo-chan~" If the woman didn't want to admit it, or was afraid to admit it, or whatever she might be, well then, Iku just wouldn't press the issue.
It was about then that she realized she was still on top of Jojo, and hastily moved so that she was sitting next to the woman instead. "Ehe, sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you, or scare you, or anything... But, uh, as a word of advice, running from a spar kind of isn't a good idea. It pisses people off, y'know."
The chunin frowned when Jojo spoke again, putting herself down, saying that she was weak... She probably thought that she was worthless, a waste of space. Believe it or not, Iku knew exactly how she felt. Pulling the woman up into a tight hug, Iku smoothed her green hair. "Don't say that. Don't think of yourself that way. If you do, you'll never get any stronger. You have to believe in yourself, and never let anyone tell you you're not good enough." She couldn't believe she was spouting inspirational stuff now, but hey, what must be done must be done. "Y'know, Jojo, I used to think that I was never going to be good for anything. I thought that I was always going to be the weaker one, overshadowed by my twin sister. I let myself believe that, and so it became true. No one ever told me that I was wrong." She knew well enough that if you let yourself get caught up in that way of thinking, you weren't ever going to get out of it on your own.
"One day, though, someone decided to believe in me. He gave me this sword and took me on as a student, and I stopped thinking that I would never be anyone because of him. It sounds to me like you need one of those people, Jojo." She didn't know if Fuku would approve, but... "Maybe you could join me for a training session with my teacher sometime?"
Then she let go of the woman, picked up Kubikiribouchou, and stood, swinging the sword over her shoulder and placing it on her back. "Don't be a stranger, alright?" Already feeling a little awkward, Iku didn't offer to help the woman up and escort her home or wherever she wanted to go. She just offered her a wave and a small smile before setting off, going back in the direction from which they had come. |
