Description:A more apt translation of this technique would be "diving in the wake of the wave" -- the user hides tools, or even a clone at the flat side of her blade which is turned from the opponent, thus they won't be able to see the hidden objects. A savage slash is then employed, seeking to drive the opponent into a dodge. If they dodge, the user can then release the objects they hid behind the flank of their blade, wasting no time in surprising a dodging opponent with a hail of kunai or even worse.

Description:Thrusting their sword into the ground, the swordsman roots himself. The bigger and heavier the sword, the sturdier their stance becomes. Given tough soil and enough strength to hold onto their blade, the user can stand through a strong wind or a water technique based on blunt washing without moving so much as an inch.
This technique can be used upon water as well, requiring the user to channel chakra through the blade of their sword, however. Usage in this manner requires B-Rank Chakra Control. A rooted sword also makes for a good shield, given it has a fair amount of size.

Quite literally, the sword becomes a maneuvering tool: a paddle.
