Kirigiri [Mist Cutting]
-- Slice 'n' Dice
A village notorious for its swordsmen, more so than even Kumogakure, Kirigakure houses many styles of kenjutsu. Commonly, they are referred to as Kirigiri. Literally, Mist Cutting. In a more eloquent translation, it could be likened to the the statement of "Swords that cut through the Mist", a play on the Seven Swordsmen's ability to fight in the Kirigakure no Jutsu, based on hearing alone, while their opponents are blinded, fearful lambs on their way to slaughter.

[Sword Ground Paddle]
Technique's Label: Kirigakure
Technique Prerequisites: Sword
Rank: D
Type: Kenjutsu (Taijutsu)
Elemental Nature: None
Description: A rather simple move, in thought and application. It can be executed with any kind of sword, usually, though, the bigger the better. In the fashion of wanderer uses their staff to overcome obstacles, the shinobi will fluidly thrust their blade against the ground and leap over an obstacle or enable himself to jump higher than he could if he only relied on his body.
Quite literally, the sword becomes a maneuvering tool: a paddle.
Kirigiri: Shingari no Yaiba
[Anchor Sword]
Technique's Label: Kirigakure
Technique Prerequisites: Sword
Rank: D
Type: Kenjutsu (Taijutsu)
Elemental Nature: None
Description: Thrusting their sword into the ground, the swordsman roots himself. The bigger and heavier the sword, the sturdier their stance becomes. Given tough soil and enough strength to hold onto their blade, the user can stand through a strong wind or a water technique based on blunt washing without moving so much as an inch.
This technique can be used upon water as well, requiring the user to channel chakra through the blade of their sword, however. A rooted sword also makes for a good shield, given it has a fair amount of size.
Kirigiri: Renjin no Yaiba
[Rotation Sword Murder]
Technique's Label: Kirigakure
Technique Prerequisites: Sword
Rank: D
Type: Kenjutsu (Shurikenjutsu)
Elemental Nature: None
Description: The user throws their sword, utilizing it in the fashion of an over-sized shuriken. Skilled users can make their blade fly like a boomerang. Wire may be employed to further alter the trajectory of the flying sword.
Kirigiri: Hamakaeru
[Sea Shore Return]
Technique's Label: Kirigakure
Technique Prerequisites: Sword
Rank: D
Type: Kenjutsu (Taijutsu)
Elemental Nature: None
Description: A technique that makes use of people not liking to get cut up by big swords -- after an opponent dodged the first slice/cut, the user will yank their blade around and smash it into the opponent with amplified force, using the weight of the weapon to accelerate it with the help of swinging it in a wide arc around/above their back, only to then return it toward the opponent for take numbe two.
Kirigiri: Namisensui
[Wave Diving]
Technique's Label: Kirigakure
Technique Prerequisites: Sword
Rank: D
Type: Kenjutsu (Taijutsu)
Elemental Nature: None
Description: A more apt translation of this technique would be "diving in the wake of the wave" -- the user hides tools, or even a clone at the flat side of her blade which is turned from the opponent, thus they won't be able to see the hidden objects. A savage slash is then employed, seeking to drive the opponent into a dodge. If they dodge, the user can then release the objects they hid behind the flank of their blade, wasting no time in surprising a dodging opponent with a hail of kunai or even worse.
