Thump. Thump. His bare feet banged on the stone tile flooring through layers of folds from his overly baggy pants. The sleeves of his shirt flailed to and fro as he swung his arms boldly and proudly with each step. Not taking his eyes off of the path ahead of him he made determined steps down the hall towards his room. Click. Clack. Click. Clack. The sound of heels clacking on stone rang down the hall as she rushed after her leader. Her crimson hair swayed about her thin frame as she took each step. Her strong yet thin arms hugged a clip board close to her healthy bosom which threatened to bound with each step she took. It would not take this fair skinned woman long at all to catch up with her lord. "M'Lord what are you planning on doing?" "It's obvious isn't it? I'm going to fight mother nature." "But M'Lord! A volcano! That's preposterous!""Perhaps, but I cannot allow my village the chance of falling because of a little lava flow." "But M'Lo-""HOEN!" The Tsuchikage stopped in his tracks turning on the ball of his foot and throwing an index finger in his assistant's face."I have made up my mind, there it no changing it now. So while I prepare myself go and gather Enko, Ryuutaka, and Hikuto." "What a minute, you're mother and father too?""They're two of the strongest Doton and Fuuton users I know, we'll need their help." "Roger!"Click. Click. Click. Clack. The red haired maiden rushed off in the other direction down the stone lined hallway to fill out her orders given to her from the Earth Shadow himself. As the clacking of her heels slowly faded out of ear shot the Tsuchikage continued on his way once again making determined steps towards his quarters where he would then prepare himself for the affair to come. Several precious minutes elapsed before the Tsuchikage would actually arrive in the dark corridor that was known as his quarters. Once inside he did not bother turning on the light, but instead left the door open so as to allow the light from the hallway to filter into the dark space. Once he was in the safety of the shadow's grasp the Tsuchikage removed his Kosode and his trousers letting both of them fall to the floor in a disgraceful mess. Stepping out of the legs of his trousers the Tsuchikage would move across the room in nothing but his under armor and boxers. Throwing open the doors to his wardrobe the Tsuchikage's eyes would then scan over the contents in search for a specific article of clothing. Upon finding said article he would snatch the fire retardant black, appropriate length, trousers from his wardrobe and slip them on. As he buttoned the pants together he also located his special combat boots designed for going up into the mountains near the volcanic craters. Once his feet were slipped into the boots and the boots locked into place on his legs, Hiryuu got up and started to sprint down the corridors of the Tsuchikage Manor. At this moment in time, if he hadn't been too worried about having to fix it later, the Tsuchikage would have been more than happy to put holes in several walls and floors just so he could reach his destination faster. Of course he knew that was dangerous structurally and dangerous for his wallet as well, so he didn't do the first thing he thought of but rather the second. Remembering that the entire structure of the manor was made from stone, he weaved several hand seals before performing the technique known as Subterranean Voyage. His form melting into the stone very similar to how the fin of a shark may appear out of or disappear into water, he would bridge the distance between his quarters and the main foyer within mere moments. Upon his arrival his form would seemingly melt out of the very ceiling itself before dropping to the floor and landing with a remarkably soft taping sound against the stone flooring. When he arrived at the main foyer four other shinobi were already present awaiting his commands, among them was his assistant Hoen. As Hiryuu made his appearance a slender white haired woman stepped forward her cleavage, which was showing way too much like always, bouncing with every step, "Hiryuu is what Hoen told us correct? You really think they'll...." Hiryuu stopped her mid sentence as he looked the woman straight in the eye, "Yes mother I am certain. An eruption is eminent." At that note a muscular man with black hair and a third eye stepped forward, bandages were across his two normal eyes since he had lost them long ago, "Well then, you know well we will act as your sword and your shield. Simply direct us and we will ensure Iwa's future." Hiryuu nodded a small smile appearing for only moments upon his features before fading away again. "Alright listen up! I don't know how much time we have before the first eruption may happen, but before that we need to make sure that the lava channels don't over flow! Now all around me!" Hiryuu put his right hand outward and the four jounin gathered around in a circle each putting their own respective right hands of top of Hiryuu's. Taking a deep breath Hiryuu would begin: "TODAY WE FIGHT AGAINST MOTHER NATURE TO PROVIDE FOR OUR FRIENDS, OUR FAMILIES, OUR HOMES, A BRIGHTER TOMORROW! TODAY WE WILL NEVER BACK DOWN FOR WE ARE THOSE WITH THE WILL OF STONE!!!" TOGETHER WE WILL STAND! TOGETHER WE WILL STAND! TOGETHER WE WILL STAND! TOGETHER WE WILL STAND! In the process of leading their battle cry, the Tsuchikage activated a technique well known to have been previously used by the Shodai Tsuchikage before his time and thus passed down to him, his student. Through their gathered hands, he also transferred the affects of the technique to his gathered team before they broke the formation and stormed out in V formation with the Tsuchikage at the helm. The five of the gathered shinobi ran perhaps fifty feet down the street before finally taking off for the skies in a clearing in the street just further down. Once in the sky they once again broke their formation as they instead each went for different locations around the same volcano. The Tsuchikage's, Hiryuu, plan was both simple as well as complex. First his team would be to carve out new channels around the base of the volcanoes that way if and when they erupted, any lava pouring down the sides can safely flow away from the village rather than straight into the streets. After they would accomplish this feat, Hiryuu would have his team create vents in the sides of the volcanoes that would allow Lava to flow out of the sides once it reached a certain height and hopefully prevent major eruptions from ever happening again. This in turn would also likely create a basin around the midpoint between all of the volcanoes where there would be a constant never cooling pool of Lava, and that, Hiryuu was prepared to create for the sake of keeping his village safe. The squad Hiryuu had assembled came upon the volcano within mere minutes, and almost as soon as they had arrived the white haired woman, Ryuutaka, took notice of the thoroughly worried expression on her son's, Hiryuu's, face. His fears had now most definitely been realized. The volcano was coming close to erupting and as such with the raising level of the lava, it was burning anything near the rim creating this black smoke. Looking all around now, Hiryuu counted a total of five volcanoes that all had the same black smoke being generated from their gaping maws. Gritting his teeth together Hiryuu let out a low, irritated growl. Collecting himself within a matter of short moments, Hiryuu would throw out his right arm to the side and hold it outward perpendicular to his body. "Stop the advancement of the Lava! Hikuto carve out new channels around the base of the volcano aiming towards that location!" Hiryuu produced a rock using one of his ninjutsu, then with moments passing, infused it with his fuuton chakra nature before throwing it at the location he spoke of for his father. The stone pierced through a large tree with such force that the tree fell over within moments, collapsing under its own weight. The muscular black haired man took note of the location his son spoke of and immediately set to work after he lowered himself to the ground. Once the man's boots graced the sturdy haven of the ground his nimble fingers began to weave the necessary hand seals. Afterwards the man slammed his palm into the ground and the ground would begin to quake as the earth tore asunder. A large chasm opened up before Hikuto and weaved itself along the base of the volcano before him as it traveled outward. Once the trench was made around the volcano, Hikuto directed the chasm to continue to open out in the direction towards the area his son, the Tsuchikage, had previously mentioned. "HIKUTO FALL BACK!" As the red haired man's words rang out, the muscular Saito looked upward towards him and inevitably the volcano. The quake his technique as cause had made the lava begin to spill over the rim. Giving himself no time to put a surprised expression on his face, the Saito turn tail and ran the opposite direction away from the rushing molten liquid. It wasn't long before the technique his son had spread to them all earlier kicked in and he was once again soaring through the air. "Thanks for the heads up Enko!" The crimson haired man nodded his head in response as he weaved his own hand signs, however before he could do anything Ryuutaka rushed forward with techniques of her own. "FUUTON: ATSUGAI!" She released a large sum of pressurized air from her gullet towards the volcano and almost immediately it spread outward into a vast expanse of area. The technique managed to cool off enough of the lava so as to prevent it from all rushing over at once. SOOOOORYAAAAAAH! Flying directly downward with his fist cranked back, Hiryuu let loose a loud battle cry before throwing his fist in front of him and colliding with the ground. As he did this the very earth beneath him seemed to heave downwards then up again before suddenly it cracked open in on itself. A large ravine formed centering around the area the Tsuchikage had split open. Simply from looking at it, Hiryuu could tell he had created a formation that ran several miles down into the crust of their very planet. It was perhaps three miles wide and five miles long and it did not stop there, it continued outward reaching out towards each of the five volcanoes. Casting his ruby gaze now towards their current objective he would see that despite his mother's efforts the lava would not cease its pouring. At this the man got an idea, and before long he was once more giving orders as he took flight again. "Enko! Blast a hole into the side of that volcano facing towards the trench!" "Are you insane!? They can't hold that much lava!" The crimson haired man turned to look at the Tsuchikage with his amber gaze, it was obvious he was stressed enough without having crazy orders barked at him. "Just do it! Hikuto hurry and connect the trenches!" Hiryuu turned to his father for the last order before looking to Hoen and Ryuutaka whom happened to be floating in the space near them. "You two get moving to the next volcano and start repeating our process here! We're going to make a lava lake that will hopefully allow us to keep from having this issue again." "Ahhh~! I get what you're thinking now. Alright got it, we're off then." Ryuutaka grasped the worried assistant by her wrist before pulling her away at high flying speeds. Hiryuu watched them for a moment as the two departed before changing his gaze back to the other two before him. BOOM! With a loud, quaking shock rock crumbled away from the side of the volcano as Enko delivered a crippling blow to it. However instead of erupting worse than before, the volcano's burning hot liquids simply gushed over the side where the new lower wall was formed and soon flowed down into the vast trenches dug by none other than the Tsuchikage's father. Then came another loud quaking shock as his father formed another set of trenches, one connecting the trenches to the lake, and two others forming forks in the path so the lava would hopefully not over flow any time soon. Hiryuu would then send the two on to the third volcano to repeat that same process, however remained himself to observe the workings of the first volcano and make sure everything went according to plan. About five minutes elapsed before finally the slow moving lava began to flow over the side of the rock face and into the immensely deep chasm Hiryuu had formed for it. At that moment, having seen a lava fall be born, as opposed to waterfall, he deemed the operation for the first volcano a success and moved on to survey the progress with the second volcano. SEEEKYAAAAAH! Ryuutaka craned her fist back before thrusting it forward as she delivered a devastating blow to the earth beneath her feet. The soil quaked and moaned once again before opening up before her. Deep chasms opened once again in the earth around the second volcano, however, unlike the one's her husband had formed, these ones were more intricate, splitting off of each other and coming back together at intervals so as to prevent any possible over flowing of lava. Then, after three consecutive minutes of quaking, the earth fell silent. Eerily silent. BLOOOSH! The volcano behind her back yawned with such force it spewed volumes of molten liquid into the air mixed with ash. Bolting her dear life, Ryuutaka ran as swiftly as her feet would carry her before finally her son's flight technique once again bestowed her invisible wings upon which she took flight. Soaring through the air, however, no one was safe, for now they had to play a game of dodge ball, only they weren't kids on a play ground dodging red rubber balls, but adults in the sky avoiding flaming hot meteors of death. FUUTON: SHINKUU RENPA!" Hiryuu quickly acted, soaring around the mountain to hover above the farthest outward reaches of Iwagakure. From there he began inhale deeply before blowing outward moving his body in various directions as he generated various blades of wind that would then act as if the blades of the swords of the god of wind. They would strike at and destroy any molten orb that dared destroy his home. It took several long, precious, moments for the team of now three to quell down the quaking and sneezing of the volcano, however eventually they managed to accomplish the feat. Hoen blasted a large trench into the side of this volcano as well, much akin to the way her brother had done the first. Then before long, Hiryuu dismissed her and Ryuutaka over to quell down the fourth monstrosity while Hiryuu observed the second. As Hiryuu observed the second volcano's molten gore spill out into the channels and soon over the face of the ravine, his father and Enko worked together to ensure the secure slumber of the peaceful beast that was the third volcano. This time, Enko carved open the network of channels. He formed an elaborate path for the lava to follow with similar forks in the path as to those Ryuutaka had formed moments before, only he also created a few underground channels connecting these paths to ensure that the lava would not flow quickly nor would any one path be higher in level than the others. Once these channels connected to the chasm that was soon slowly filling to become a lake of lava, Enko gave Hikuto the go ahead. BOOOOM! Rocks the size of houses would begin to crumble once the muscular man delivered the crippling blow to the rock face, and before long, white hot entrails spewed over the lower lip created and gushed down into the intricate channels created by the red haired yamamoto. Hearing the explosion, Hiryuu's attention immediately snapped over to the third volcano where his father was, and soon a smile appeared on the emaciated man's face. Everything was going according to plan. Hiryuu began to make his way over to the fourth volcano by this point to observe how the girls were performing, however by the time he arrived he got a bit of a delightful and also a little annoying surprise. Several of his fellow villagers, shinobi in fact, had seen what the group had been doing and decided that they didn't want to stand by while the other five had all of the fun. Iwagakure was their village too, and they wanted to help protect it. At least that was what Hiryuu heard from the first five people he asked. Closing his eyes for a moment Hiryuu stifled a laugh. He was proud really. His people, they all had inherited the same thing he had gotten directly from the Shodai. They had all inherited the Stone Will, and none of them would back down if it meant being able to protect their home sake. So it would go written down in the history of Iwagakure. The Yondaime's great conquering of the five devils and the birth of Yougan Kosui, the lake of lava. It would be told to children if they were ever to ask about how such a fiery beauty as the lava lake were to become reality that the Yondaime led his team of four shinobi, five total including himself, in a valiant effort to quell the five angry devils. He and his men had managed to defeat three of the five beasts, however were quickly realizing that they were running out of strength. However with reinforced vigor from their fellow stone shinobi and the guidance of the Yondaime, they would quell the remaining two devils and form what is now known as Yougan Kosui. -END CHAPTER 3082 wordsREMAIN DEFIANT UNTIL THE END, AND WE'LL BRING CHANGE |
