Yamanaka Hiden: The members of this clan specialize in mind-centered techniques which makes them experts at intelligence gathering and espionage. They have also displayed sensory abilities and their techniques include transferring consciousness, reading minds and communicating telepathically.

Historical Background:

Before Konoha was ever even thought of, the Yamanaka Clan lived peacefully in Hi no Kuni alongside the Akimichi and Nara Clans, which they've always held a special bond with. The Yamanaka became known for their intelligence gathering and espionage, services that many other Clans were all too happy to pay for.

Instead of joining Konohagakure the year it was founded, the Yamanaka waited. They weren't eager to get involved in the village and its politics. Even when the Akimichi decided to move, the Yamanaka stayed. It took them another few years to decide that, perhaps, they should rejoin their friends and become part of the village.

They were the main force behind Konoha's T&I and spy networks during the war, finding out much valuable information that helped to protect the village. A much smaller number of Clan members were out on the front lines, proving that their hiden was not their only skill. The Yamanaka did not enjoy waging war, but they were good at it.

Since then they've been living peacefully in Konohagakure. Several of them have opened shops, and they've integrated fully into the village.
