Over the years since Iwagakure has been founded it has been discovered that this clan is most common in Iwagakure to produce shinobi that are born with a sixth sense to sense the chakra around them and tell it apart from other chakra sources albeit with a bit of difficulty.

While this is a rare occurrence, there are times when people born into this clan are born with a third eye. Those people born with the third eye are typically more skilled sensors than other members of their clan, however have a sensitivity to light.

Historical Background:

The Saito clan was originally founded as a small group of people that lived in their own small village long before Iwagakure was founded. Being exceptional sensors and rather adept at genjutsu the Saito clan managed to vastly stay out of the wars that had stricken Tsuchi no Kuni for many years before Iwa was finally founded by sensing where a potential enemy was and casting some sort of genjutsu on them if they strayed too close to their village.

The Saito were such a mysterious people up until they became part of Iwagakure simply because they produced a mist around their village that whenever someone entered it, if caught off guard, they would be trapped within a genjutsu and either end up back where they started, or die.

When word had reached the Saito that a large village establishment had been founded, originally they were skeptical. They had heard the first one had failed, but this time it seemed that there had been much more structurally sound. Despite them being so skeptical, the Saito were running out of resources necessary for survival and really did not have much other choice but to join the ranks of this hidden stone village.

When the Saito clan finally became integrated into Iwagakure, slowly but surely they began to spread themselves thin through out the village. Their techniques became less prominent and more rare as generations came to pass and while there has been three new generations since they have joined the village, their unique genjutsu seems to have been lost with the first.
