"Oh... Alright."
A mission? Hm. It meant work. Something usually done for somebody else. Yasuhiro didn't like the thought of it. No sir, not one bit. There was just one thing motivating this slacker. His genin life had recently begun, and he couldn't let Shindama get ahead. The day he would let that happen would be the end of his life and dignity. And so our young Uchiha reluctantly accepted his very first mission assignment. "But only because I want to, ok? Don't get used to this Goggles-doin'-missions business, I just have t-"
Stay ahead of Shin? Right. Except nobody heard because the Hokage abruptly launched some species of object at Goggles' head. How rude! After doing the favor of accepting the mission... "O-Okay, Hokage-sama, see ya later!"
And with that he rushed off, to safety. At least he didn't actually get hit.
He went over the directions in his head again, making sure he was going the right way. The last thing he needed on his first mission was to get lost on the way there. Making his way through the village he daydreamed about the biggest bed with sheets of the finest silk and soft pillows of the plumpest kind. All the people around and all the talking and moving and activity was making him uncomfortable, so all he really wanted to do was doze off somewhere.
But he couldn't. What was he thinking? Shindama would get ahead! Do we want that? No! He went over the directions again. Right, left, left, right, up, down, circle, square... Ehh. He didn't really pay attention to them. And was definitely not going back to the Hokage's office to get another random object lunged at him again. Oh well. It seemed that asking whoever if they knew about the old lady's house with the big, overgrown plants and stuff.
"Excuse me, sir? Do you know i-"
"Hey, excuse me..."
"Umm, by any chance d-"
Bump, thump, crash? The village was busy that day. Not just a kid, shorter than most people, but someone with such a hesitant mood. Nobody noticed him. Damn these people... Guess I'm on my own... And finally, an idea. He wasn't going to find any plant-covered house out on the streets of the village, nor would he stumble upon anyone would know anything about it. These people were active, city people. With that in mind, Yasuhiro went about the mission differently.
Yasuhiro went away from the streets. Just completely secluded from them. Whichever part of the village seemed to be almost "out of the village" without the thought being applicable in a literal sense. So he circled the outermost borders of the village, near the outskirts, where even more vegetation was likely to be encountered. It took him a while, but he got there for sure. All he had to do was activate his sharingan and look for the swallowed-up building with a single source of human chakra in it.

The place was horrid. It wasn't enough for the plants to completely swallow up the yard and most of the house, but aside from moss growing on every visible wall, there were vines and tangled up organisms all over the place. This was... Dense, and filthy. No wonder the lady had to hire a genin to help her out. Yasuhiro apprehensively neared the house. His scarlet eyes could see the lady's chakra inside, which reminded him that this was a mission and that he was doing this to win against Shindama.
"Good morning, ma'am."
He bowed his head.
"Oh, good morning, young man. May I help you?"
"Actually I'm here for the opposite. My name is Yasuhiro. You need help with the plants out here?"
"Oho, so they sent me a young ninja to help me out, is that right?"
"You may call me Goggles.", he smiled softly.
He may be somewhat vainglorious - a strong word for a kid, yes - but he could appreciate the fact that he was being paid for this. Not to mention seeing an elderly woman unable to even walk properly without a stick wasn't exactly something he'd approach arrogantly. Without a second thought, he began his steps toward the side of the house. Inspection had now begun, as a way to assess the situation at hand. Going back and forth from one side to another, he observed the plants' conquer of the lady's home, and was confident in the plan in he had in mind to take care of it.
Sliding his hand into his pouch, he reached for the folded fūma shuriken.
"You just go on inside and have yourself a nice cup of tea, ma'amn."
He unfolded the large shuriken, and proceeded to take aim at the flurry of vines and weeds. Normally one would expect the use of a kunai, but, well... The situation was dire for this house. Left arm raised, hand pointed at his target. Eyes sharp, don't want to hit any living source of chakra. Right arm stretched out behind, left leg pivot, right leg momentum. Rotate torso counter-clockwise, launch shuriken. A large gyrating quartet of sickles, pierce the wind and the tall-standing undergrowth.
Clean cut.

Slicing straight through the mass, Yasuhiro cleaned out half of the mess covering the right wall of the house. Somehow the thought of Shindama progressing beyond Yasuhiro roused something in him. Yasuhiro could feel something swelling up inside of him, a desire to win firing up. Even if Shindama wasn't there, he had to do better than him. There was no other choice. No time to be lazy. His decision was to overcome.
Ka-duck. Hands in holsters, kunai in hands. Eyes shifting swiftly, observing, targeting, aiming. Hands raised, holsters closed. Kunai bases spun on fingers. Nothing escaped his vision. Lunge here - whoosh - lunge there - whoosh - three more vines and six more weeds. Reload, reengage. Relaunch. The boy was insane, aiming, throwing, cutting, plants dying left and right. Mixed it up with shuriken, kept slashing away. It looked like he was doing good work, but there was a lot more to go. In thirty seconds Yasuhiro had taken his job and turned into an unorthodox target practice.
"My, my, a little zealous, are we? Hehehe, I'll leave ya to it then.", she paced back into the house.
"Heh...", he smirked.
Not enough. Not nearly enough. Despite so much of the overgrown undergrowth and debilitatingly tyrannous tendrils being cut down, there was still so much. Yasuhiro realized he would have to take to the ground a little. Fix her up a proper yard, maybe a garden too. Which he wasn't ready for. He liked doing this job like a training session, so he just went around to the other side and started throwing around sharp objects over there as well. It wasn't anything too complicated. Once he got all the plant life that was literally hanging around all over the place, he would just need to start cutting up grass and the like manually.
There was just this obstructing branch near the backyard that was being super annoying, but he went on to the back of the house first.
Once he arrived at the backyard, it was the same story. Not that he actually was in the backyard, because of all the obstruction. And again he identified a few key points which appeared to play an important role in the tangling of the plants. One at seventy degrees to the right, about three feet high, another eighty-three degrees to the right, two feet and ten inches high, and another some sixty-one degrees to the left, about four feet high, so on, so forth...
By now he had thrown seventeen kunai and twenty-three shuriken. The backyard was cleared, so, back to that monster branch.
It was a huge appendage protruding from its trunk, branching off into smaller ones, and covering almost half of the house's roof. There was a plethora of leaves, not to mention even more vines and tendrils to remove. However, it wasn't that thick, which gave Yasuhiro an idea.
"Hm... About six teen feet... Minus my height..."
He went back to the right side of the house to retrieve his fūma shuriken. Given its size and lethality, it was just the tool for the task he was about to do. The idea was to jump up on the roof, then jump on a branch above the one he had to cut down, which was sixteen feet above the ground. He took a length of wire and tied it to this upper branch, then tied the opposite to his left forearm. By swinging down he would combine the force of his fall with the inertia of the unfolding of the fūma shuriken to cut into the target branch.
"Phew.... Alright. You can do this."
Though he was more than used to handling throwing weapons, Yasuhiro wasn't used to handling them without throwing them, and he was a little worried about possibly hurting himself in what he was about to do. He took a deep breath and got the fūma shuriken ready in hand. Reassuring himself that whatever happened, it would only make him stronger, he got right off the branch, swung his body right toward the branch beneath. As his body neared it he got more and more nervous, but the fall was quick, and there was no time to waste.
With his right hand, the shuriken unfolded in an upward direction, digging into the branch, and-
Shit, shit, shit...!!!
He couldn't do it. In fear, he didn't give it his all, and the shuriken only pierced halfway through the branch, the sudden halt spinning his body upward leading his stomach to smash right into the bottom of the branch. "Ugh..!", he grunted. Though his body fell back down, he didn't let go of the shuriken. He got up on the branch, and took out a kunai with his right hand. He then positioned his feet on the blunt sides of the shuriken's blades, and pushed them as hard as he could so as to make the shuriken grind-cut the branch clean out of the trunk. Once this was done, he'd cut the wire on his left forearm with the kunai in his right hand, and he landed on his feet down below.
And now time to get manual. This final portion of the mission took him about an hour or so. He had to drag the branch out of the lady's yard, start cutting up patches of tall grass with kunai, as well as scrape moss from the house's walls, and get her garden real decent. Yasuhiro actually ended up taking off his jacket due to dirt and sweat. After a while of good, hard work, he went to the doorway to bid farewell to his client.
"Are you sure you don't want anything to drink?"
"It's fine ma'am, I really should get going. Have a nice evening."
"Well thank you son, here's your pay."
Again he smiled softly, and bowed his head. He was pooped. Work like this was not for Mr. Slacker Goggles. He walked very slowly and calmly, not even having the energy to afford a decent pace. But, he did get paid. And pigging out and bathing after all that work provided some of the best feelings he had ever experienced, though not as much as the pride that came with knowing that he wasn't letting Shindama beat him.
First Mission: Success.
