Mission Description:

The Konohagakure Hospital has been missing out on vital herbs ever since the supply ran low in the last war. However, unlike the old days, these herbs are in short supply in the area just outside Konoha. You're going to have to travel to the most treacherous, mountainous parts of the village to gather these special herbs. As easy as this mission seems, the paths into the mountains are not easily traversed, but it shouldn't be too difficult. With these herbs, we'll be well stocked to provide our ninja and civilians with the best medical care.

I'm not entirely sure you understand what the "Random Upgrade" option is... Could you read the fourth bullet point here and update your post?

Also, I can't see a mission where you're at all likely to come across mountain lions and bears being D-Rank.

D-Rank missions rarely, if ever, have any risk of combat beyond being scratched by a domestic cat or cuffed by an old woman when you make a mistake with her gardening.
