She had proven to be quite a challenge to deal with, but in the end Kakuzu and his partner, Shou, had managed to end her life and thus attain her body to be used in the exchange for her bounty which was around that of twenty-seven thousand RYO. Surely that was a handsome prize for their efforts, however, it was perhaps not nearly enough for the seasoned bounty hunter's taste.
Kakuzu and Shou had taken time after killing the woman in order to rest and regain their strength which had heavily waned during the fight, however now they were on the move. Kakuzu had decided to carry the corpse himself as he had become accustomed to doing over the years and thus he had thrown the body of the bodacious woman over his shoulder and proceeded to carry her as such all the way to where they were now. At this point in time a long silence had fallen over the two nukenin as they traveled through a treacherous mountain area that also happened to be heavily wooded. One wrong step here and one of them could easily plummet to their deaths in the crevasse below them.
Looking up now as he took a moment to stop in his walking, Kakuzu motioned for Shou to stop for a moment with his free hand. "Look up there." Kakuzu pointed through the thick foliage to a large mountain ridge just about a ten minute walk up ahead of them. "Up there is where this land's bounty office is. If I remember correctly they had only been able to install one bounty office in all of Tsuchi no Kuni not because bounties were rather scarce here, but rather because the land was too treacherous to find good locations that weren't already taken." Kakuzu gave the other man a bit of information about the bounty office, however not so much because the other man may have been interested, but rather because the nukenin found the small tid-bit of information a bit interesting. It was funny to think of them only having one bounty office because of the terrain around them. After all Kakuzu could think of several places to put bounty offices, even if many of them might be too treacherous for the brokers. I'll take your heart to replace the one you destroyed |

Shou sighed softly to himself, as the two walked down the dirt road. It had been a little over three hours since they started walking and Shou felt almost as good as new. Closing his eyes he hummed softly to himself of a lullaby his late wife had song to their son when he was a just a baby. That was an interesting fight and he thought he was going to die a few times but good thing he had his chakra chains those saved his ass big time. Slowly Shou opened his eyes and looked up at the slowly darkening sky. The sun had slowly been setting for the last thirty minutes and it was almost behind the large mountains before them. It will be night in just a few more minutes and the full moon would be out tonight.
Shou’s attention was pulled away from the sky by the sound of Kakuzu’s voice. Shou nodded his head in response finding the information given was probably going to be highly useful in the next few years. A few moments of silence passed between them before Shou decided to speak after many hours of silence. ”So once we drop this bounty and get the money do you think I am worth of your trust to know a little bit about you?” ask Shou as he looked straight ahead while looking from the corner of his eyes at the other. Shou had shared a large chunk of his life with the other in the last two months and Shou wondered if this battle would be great enough for the two of them to become closer as nukenin partners. Closing his eyes Shou felt a cool breeze blow up the back of his neck and up into his hair, sending a long shiver down his back. Moaning softly to himself he shook gently.
But if the Kakuzu answer or not, the two would arrive at the front of the bounty office. Grinning to himself, Shou fallowed the other up the steps and through the doors into the bounty office.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, width:100px; background-color:#2e2e2e;][atrb=vAlign, top] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, width:350px; background-color:#141414;][atrb=vAlign, top] After his little informational session for Shou, Kakuzu continued onward on his path walking towards the bounty office. Shifting the body of the now rotting apple on his shoulder his mind decided to go on a little road trip as his eyes focused on his destination just up ahead. While he reminisced in the memory of the first time he had ever been to this exact bounty office Kakuzu took one step too many. In the time of a single instant elapsing several things would then happen.
First came that sinking feeling in Kakuzu's gut as his foot chipped away a rock on the cliff ledge, then came him tossing the body back to Shou as his mind snapped back to the proceeding events. As his form would slowly be swallowed by the foliage while he fell over the ledge due to his day dreaming distracting him, Shou would likely hear a most aggravated grunt come from his partner followed closely by the sound of crumbling rocks while they fell down into the crevasse. Turning in his fall Kakuzu reached up with his left hand and as it seemed that it would be near impossible for the nukenin to catch himself, the threads keeping his arm held together unraveled. At that moment he took careful aim and then released his hand shooting it outward and upward.
From Shou's perspective, as his partner fell over the ledge and vanished into the foliage he would likely then see a dark forearm shoot up out of the bushes before grappling a large tree branch. The branch would heave for a moment, but it held sturdy as it broke Kakuzu's fall. Not wanting to waste chakra now at this point, Kakuzu merely placed his feet on the cliff face and scaled it by retracting his arm and walking upwards. Kakuzu was back up on top within moments, and at that time he retrieved his arm. "Nngh... Pesky cliffs, pay attention to where you step unless you want to do that." Holding out his right arm towards Shou he'd wait for him to return the bounty to him before proceeding onward down the path.
After that little incident, Kakuzu and Shou would take a small detour to find a sturdy enough path to cross over to the ridge the bounty office resided on. Once they were on the same ridge it would take a matter of five minutes to approach the office and then another two to be within arm's reach of the door.
The bounty office was hidden within the rock face. To the inexperienced eye it simply appeared as though part of the rock formation, but if one was weary enough or simply had a good eye, they would be able to spot the glint of the light off of the glass that covered the window, despite the window looking like a small animal made hole in the rock face. The door itself for the office was opened with a hidden switch which happened to be disguised as a small rock jutting out of the rock face that happened to be hidden behind a near by bush. Once Kakuzu pressed the switch a large boulder that was once part of the rock face itself, moved aside allowing the two nukenin to enter the hidden office.
Not long after they would enter the office, the door would conceal itself again. I'll take your heart to replace the one you destroyed |

As the two walking up the path with one side being the side of the mountain the other being a sheer drop Shou turned his attention to Kakuzu but he wasn’t there but the dead apple woman was coming at him fast. Reaching his arms out he caught to limp woman causing him to grunt slightly but after taking a couple of steps back he got his footing back. Kakuzu!” called Shou as searched the area for the other. But then a few moments he saw the hand of Kakuzu gripping tightly to a tree limp and after a couple of more minutes the stitched man appeared once again using his arm as a rope to pull himself up. Chuckling to himself softly he watched as his partner adjusted himself before asking for the body. Smirked and tilting his head to the side he through the woman back to him. ”I’ll keep that in mine Kakuzu,” chuckled Shou as he fallowed the other to a safer path to the bounty office.
It didn’t take long for the two of them to get to their destination. The other would push a rock face gentle causing the face to move gently to the side to reveal it was a secret passage. The two would enter inside. The inside of the office was circular with many human ice boxes that covered the walls. Shou blinked a few times and took a position from the right of the door placing a foot on the wall and resting his upper back against the wall. Shou would stay in this spot while Kakuzu procedure with the bounty meeting. Shou didn’t know two cents about meeting like this so he was just going to watch and learn how the master does it.

Masuda Yasuharu yawned as he leant against the counter, running his hand through his short grey hair. Bringing his other hand up to his mouth, he sighed, before digging his teeth into his stump of a thumbnail. He hadn't been particularly busy for the last couple of weeks - none of the good hunters were in the area. Still, while he may have seemed bored and uninterested, he remained alert, just in case.
As if to reward him for his diligence, an alert went off, signalling that somebody had entered. The narrow corridor from the entrance would lead them to this room, on the other side. Yasuharu moved his left hand to a button under the desk, just in case. If any funny business went down, he could easily press it and blow the entire room up - there were explosive tags hidden inside the walls. Even if it failed to kill the intruders, it would sure as hell give them trouble getting out through the collapsed tunnel. He doubted they would make it out in time. Of course, he very much hoped that this would not be an event he would ever have to witness, since it would also leave him - if he survived the blast - trapped along with them. Not a pleasant position to be in.
Fortunately, the man who rounded the corner was familiar to Yasuharu, even if his companion was not. Tall, almost entirely covered up, with very little expression on his face... He was known to Yasuharu as 'Kakuzu', though he very much doubted this was the man's real name. A strange character, he was always reliable and he often brought the fun ones in... Yasuharu was fairly certain he had a bounty on his own head, though naturally he would never raise this question to the man. He quite liked his head and wasn't particularly disposed towards losing it...
"Kakuzu!" He grinned, "Who's your new friend? And what have you got for me today? Nothing too messy, I hope!"

While the guy had certainly proved his worth for combat, he certainly did not know when to shut up. While he may have earned the right to learn something new about Kakuzu, that didn't mean Kakuzu wanted to be anything like a close friend to the guy. In all honesty, Kakuzu just wished the guy would shut up and stop trying to pry. He didn't need to know about Kakuzu, and Kakuzu didn't care to know him, however the other seemed to think different.
Shifting the woman's weight on his shoulder once more he finally came to the end of the hallway and proceeded to walk into a decently lit room where a familiar face was posted. Masuda Yasuharu. He was the man that had been here the last time Kakuzu had come in and he definitely seemed to have a good head on his shoulders, he never asked any unnecessary comments, and typically kept things professional. Kakuzu liked that. "Him? No body important." Kakuzu spoke his truthful mind about his partner, he honestly didn't care for the guy, although he would keep him around if the guy so pleased.
Tossing now the body of the golden apple onto the counter, he was certainly more than happy to be rid of that load. As she would land with a thud on the stone surface, the nukenin folded his arms across his chest. "Brought in the Kin Ringo, or at least what we're certain should be her. Can you verify?" He shifted his weight onto his right leg as he cocked his head slightly. At that moment the man's ebony tresses would fall over his face, partially covering one of his eyes and gracing his lips as they fell past his chin. It could easily be told by the nukenin's over all body expression, that he was a bit impatient, and perhaps tired. Of course he was, killing this woman, despite the rest the had taken afterwards, had worn him out and he still hadn't had a decent sleep in several days. Shou leaned deeper into the wall as he waited for the other to appear. Shou assumed there was a man here who was going to help them get the bounty they need for the woman they killed. Closing it eyes he listened as he started to hear the soft taps of footsteps approaching. Once the footsteps were loud enough to hear for a normal person Shou opened his eyes and only a few moments later the man appeared. He looked to be a business man of sorts and was wearing somewhat nice stylish cloths for a person who performed business on a daily basis. Shou just watched as the two started to communicate. A hard glare crossed Shou’s face as the man just brushed him off as a nobody. Flipping him the bird he pushed himself off the wall and walked beside Kakuzu giving him a raised eyebrow before turning his attention to the new comer.
”Names Suijin,” greeted Shou with a deadly smirk across his face as he placed his hands into his pockets. After a few moments Shou wrapped his hand around the hitl of the knife before pulling it out and slamming it up above the rotten apple’s head cutting a few pieces of her hair. ”This was the weapon I used on her. I was aiming for the throat but I lost my footing and my aim as eschewed. But either way she was killed by the attack,” smirked Shou as he placed his elbows on the table a few inches away from the blade while resting his chin in the open palms of his hands. Shou wondered what Kakuzu would say, he hoped he didn’t scar the man too much. Shou gave a childish grin with his eyes closed before grabbing the hilt of the sword and pulled gently releasing the blade from the table before placing it into his pocket.

What a cocky little shithead. Sure, Yasuharu had heard the name "Suijin" before, but that didn't mean he'd give the stupid fucker any kind of respect. What an arrogant, unprofessional ass-hat. Unchanged on the outside, fuming on the inside, Haru had half a mind to set off the freaking explosive tags in the walls just to teach that waste of good Oxygen a fecking lesson.
"Kin Ringo, eh? Not bad."
Haru had a bit of a problem with arrogance, which, naturally, became a bit of a problem in his line of work. Taking out the stupid little prick wouldn't be the first time he'd had an extremely dangerous criminal enter with the body of a dangerous bounty in tow and proceeded to kill them and claim the bounty money for himself... Hell, he wouldn't be surprised if this "Suijin" had a nice bounty on his head too. In fact, Haru recalled a certain entry in the Bingo Book...
Taking his hand and placing it on the woman's forehead, he closed his eyes, concentrating...
BAM!
Yasuharu had tried to ignore the obnoxious brat but that was the last straw... Looking up from the woman's body, he spied the knife that had slammed into the table just inches from his hand's location on the Kin Ringo's head, held by - surprise, surprise - the cocky prick. Yasuharu's eyes locked onto the other's and, hand forming the required seal, he...
No. Kakuzu was one of the only people in this line of work that Yasuharu could truly say he liked. Calm, collected and professional, he was the perfect Bounty Hunter. Adding to that the reputation the other man had for his temper and how well that personality trait struck home with Haru... Yeah, Kakuzu was worth keeping around, even if it meant this stupid fucker of a tag-along got to live a little longer. Oh well, he'd just have to play along for a bit... Giving a smirk to rival, even surpass this Suijin's own, he spoke; "So you missed, basically?"
Haru continued, the patronising tone of his voice so clear he sounded almost like he were talking to a six-year-old. "Good job, you must be so proud of yourself."
Placing his hand back on the woman's forehead, he concentrated once more... Yes, the traces of her chakra still remained - very individual, easy to identify. To be completely sure, he flicked out a scalpel, taking a little of her blood and placing it on a thin piece of paper. This piece of paper entered a strange machine built into the wall to his side, which quickly spurted out its own paper.
Glancing over it, Haru dropped a small pouch from up his sleeve. Chucking it to Kakuzu, he spoke up again, "Good to see ya, Kakuzu. There's your payment - 27,000 RYO."

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, width:100px; background-color:#2e2e2e;][atrb=vAlign, top] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, width:350px; background-color:#141414;][atrb=vAlign, top] Kakuzu watched as the official went about doing his business. However as he did so, Shou seemed to think it important to show off for the man putting himself on extremely thin ice not only with the official, but Kakuzu as well. When Shou slammed the kunai down into the desk Kakuzu put his hand on top of Shou's and looked him dead in the eye. "Bounty Officials don't give a shit about how the person was killed, so perhaps instead of acting like an arrogant show off you should shut up and sit back." He released his hand catching the bag of ryo tossed to him, "You ever act that stupid again," he began to move away before he stopped half way across the room to turn and glare at the body shifter over his shoulder, "Then I'll end you." With that he made to leave. He no longer had any purpose being in this place, plus he needed to cool his head a bit after Shou nearly got them killed by whatever traps the official had placed in the office. Although he was quite certain the traps hadn't been triggered because Kakuzu was present, and most of the officials knew to both fear and respect the hunter. Exit Kakuzu I'll take your heart to replace the one you destroyed |
