Dark clouds rolled into her vision as she looked up from her desk and out the window. Thunder clashed a distance away. Lightning followed the loud sound just milliseconds after. Izumi abandoned all hope for reading her scrolls, knowing that she wouldn’t be able to concentrate. Instead she continued to stare out the pane glass, smiling when the drops of rain began to pelt against it. Sounds of the rain now filled the air around her.
Her grin widened as she then decided to talk a walk through the storm. She stood and donned on her trademark red scarf before grabbing an umbrella and heading out of her apartment. Izumi opened the item above her, and stepped out into the rain. Her smile was still place as she maneuvered around the village. The streets were mostly empty since it has been some time from when the rain had begun, and people had stampeded their way home or under some kind of shelter.
Izumi wasn’t one of those people to shy away from the drops, however. The rain was her element, she just knew it. Well, partly anyways. She had yet to take the special paper test to see which element she was more attuned to. But as the young teenager continued to walk the streets of Kumogakure, Izumi wanted to be aligned with the element of water.
”Hmm... I wonder if I should go over to Hada’s place...” She said to herself, carefully dodging a running citizen. Thunder and lightning filled the sky at that moment, illuminating a figure in the distance. Curious, Izumi picked up her pace and squinted at the boy. His silhouette in the rain was more visible and familiar now as she neared.
”Hey,” she greeted him, standing only a couple of feet away. The rain still blurred some of his features but Izumi definitely recognized him now. He was Uzumaki Arashi, and he had been one of the students to graduate in her class.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,4,true][atrb=valign,top,true][atrb=class, TIMEBOMB] It was like a time bomb set into motion ✵ He had been reading outside near one of the mountains that made up the outskirts of Kumogakure. Had the rain not have started he would of probably stayed the rest of the day there. When the first droplets of rain hit the ground he was forced to put the book inside of his waistcoat and find a new source of entertainment. He had expected that his search for this entertainment would lead him right to a tea shop where he could enjoy his book in shelter with a nice drink. Arashi thought of how wasteful the day would now become. As he walked through the village he realized all the training he could have gotten in today.
He knew that he had to train soon. He had basically taken the last two weeks off just because he could. He knew that his team would be meeting soon and that didn't seem to bother or excite him one bit. He would be stuck trying to groom his skills by himself for the most part due to his inability to work together with others and his blatant fear that he was usually holding people back from getting their own job done. It wasn't something he should concern himself with at the moment anyway. He didn't have to worry about it until the team met. There wasn't any good reason he should stress himself out.
The village being empty was something that Arashi actually enjoyed. The droplets of rain always cleared the streets of people but it was such a common thing in Kumo you would believe more people would be used to the rain. It was the land of lighting after all. Rain and Lighting were basically two peas in a pod. One wouldn't make sense without the other. Well that's how Arashi thought of it at least. While his mind wandered on these pointless topics he didn't even realize that he had been looking down this whole entire time and never noticed the girl who had called his name. It wasn't until he had seen her feet almost directly in front of him that he looked up. The face was familiar one of the girls who had graduated with him. He took one step backwards and waved as his face started to turn a flush of red. He was embarrassed that he had almost walked directly into the girl she probably thought of him as a strange kid like most of the kids he graduated with and that certainly didn't help him prove otherwise. He looked for words to say but nothing would come out not even a simple hello. He would just be stuck standing there with his eyes staring a hole through her face..
