Members of the Ren clan have a unique trait to where their eyes always appear to be the hue of some sort of precious gem. With their eyes always being a sort of interesting mix of Gold and some other precious gem hue. The most common hues in the clan are Golden Ruby and Golden Sapphire, however it has been noted that Golden Emerald is possible as well.
Golden Amethyst is a much more rare hue as well as Golden Amber.
Golden Ebony and Ivory are the most rare hues of all.

If twins happen to be born to the Ren Clan, the twins always end up having features that make them look like polar opposites from each other. If one twin has white hair and emerald eyes, the other has black hair and ruby eyes.

The Ren clan were well known for their Fuinjutsu techniques. While it isn't exactly known just what kind of fuinjutsu they may have concocted through time, the stone tablet residing within their compound may hold the secrets for them to unlock.

Historical Background: Long ago there once lived a clan known for their brutal tactics in war and their grace outside of combat. They were a clan of handsome folk with eyes that appeared to be like precious gems. They were known as a noble clan within Takigakure, however on one fateful night they were all but wiped out.
The elders of the village feared the clan for their advanced fuinjutsu and battle know-how. As such, fearing the clan might attempt a coup'de tat the elders assigned the ANBU to wipe out the entire clan. However upon entering the Ren Clan's compound near the Kusa no Kuni border the ANBU found the elaborate building abandoned, or so it appeared. Upon entering into the lower sanctum the ANBU were surprised by what they found.
One of the ANBU had discovered a secret passage leading farther down into the building. Having cleared the rest of the building they had but no choice to take it and thus they began their long descent down a dimly lit stair case. After several long minutes passed, the first ANBU finally stepped out into what appeared to have been daylight, but that couldn't have been right, they had arrived around midnight. Stepping out into the room the leader took a look around and was astounded by what he found.
At the bottom of the stairs loomed a long stone bridge about forty feet in width with no rails to prevent anyone from falling off. Judging by the blood splatters on the stone, it appeared as though battles took place on the bridge and whomever lost fell off of the side to their inevitable doom. Looking over the side the leader could definitely tell it would have been impossible, or rather improbably that anyone would be able to survive the drop, but not only that, a thick black fog covered the chasm floor.
Looking all around now, the leader took note of the large pillars, about six on each side, each one about ten feet in width and perhaps standing thirty feet apart, that seemed to support the ceiling. Looking up he saw the light source which happened to be some sort of crystalline formation that shimmered with enough light that looked as natural as day light. Now looking across to the other side of the bridge, the ANBU also took note of the huge altar on the other side.
The team journeyed across the bridge to the altar where they found a large stone tablet on the wall. However, the message written on the tablet was written in some sort of code none of the ANBU had ever seen before as well as bathed in blood, whose no one could tell. Upon trying to move the tablet, the ANBU then discovered a passageway farther back into the mountain formation. This must have been what the Ren had used to escape.
The ANBU team never did find the Ren refugees that night, however after that incident, no one ever saw tail or hide of any of the Ren in Takigakure for several decades. No one was ever able to tell what happened at the Ren Compound with it being bathed in blood like it was, however, after that night the compound was soon forgotten and slowly began to fall into disrepair, or at least the main area of the compound did, the sanctuary remains untouched by humans and animals alike, only the shifting of the earth around it may have caused it to deteriorate bit by tiny bit.
After having discovered the plot against them, the Ren had decided to make themselves sparse. They took whatever techniques they knew and fled to the various lands, some near by, other's quite a distance away. While their blood may have become polluted over the years with the intermingling of other peoples, one thing can still tell if one has Ren heritage, and that is look into their eyes, a Ren's eye will always hold a precious Golden glimmer.
