It was time for another solo mission, and this time it had to do with a dog. The briefing was simple. Yasuhiro was given a picture of a dog, and he had to find it. It sounded simple too, but it wasn't quite like that. See, this was a small dog, and he would have to go looking for it all over the village. Hopefully Hiro would get lucky on this day.
He made his way through the village, keeping his eyes peeled, listening in on every possible conversation in case anybody happened to know something about the lost blue dog. While he was at it he started trailing off as he usually does, thinking about how it's stupid to call blue dogs 'blue' because they're really just a shade of grey. Maybe they call brown dogs 'red'?, he thought.
As he strolled through the village the only clues that popped up were, naturally, about stray dogs that showed up here and there to eat leftovers from food shops, kiosks, and even homes. Obviously these would all be at or near garbage cans and the like. Hiro went to several places that came to mind, looked around, asked around, but nothing. All the people who claimed to have seen a dog matching the description of the one he was looking for said something different than the rest.
This was going nowhere. Maybe the dog just wasn't hungry? Maybe it had a food source somewhere else. Maybe it was out playing with other dogs. Or maybe Hiro was just focusing too much on what people would tell him. So he adjusted his resolve to letting the places tell him. He had to look for tracks - footprints, eaten or chewed leftover foods and objects, so on so forth.

Yasuhiro was in the northwestern part of the village. He had managed to find some solid clues which led him there, and he didn't know it, but he was getting really close to the dog.
"Alright. So there's three different set of footprints... The larger ones lead to that shop over there, and this other set to that house...", he thought outloud to himself.
If his hypothesis was correct, the dog he was looking for was with another dog and a raccoon. Strange, that they'd be with a raccoon, but then again, dogs were pretty friendly. And raccoons pretty smart, so it could have been using them to get more food than it was normally able to. First he followed the footprints leading to a food shop - the raccoon's. They went right around the shop, all the way to the back, and seemed to indicate that it entered the kitchen. He activated his dōjutsu to get a look at the chakra inside.
Fortunately, there was a raccoon-shaped chakra in there. It seemed to be a bit high in relation to the ground, so Hiro figured it was on top of something. Thinking back on anything he knew about raccoons, he remembered learning somewhere that they actually tend to wash their foodstuffs. So he thought that the raccoon might be in the sink, doing just that. Then he heard somebody from inside yelling something about the raccoon, so he cleared the doorway so as to not get slammed by a suddenly opened door.
One of the food shop's employees chased out the raccoon, abruptly opening the door as Hiro had anticipated. The raccoon went out at incredible speeds, so Hiro kept his sharingan active just in case he needed to follow its chakra.
Whoosh.

Though he had found what appeared to be a friend of the dog he had to find, Yasuhiro was now engaged in a high-speed chase to capture it. It's not like Hiro was the one who kicked it out of the food shop it was taking leftovers from, but it did notice the boy run straight for it immediately after it was kicked out. And it was pretty darn smart too. All the turns and sneaks it made were like a heat run. It went over things, under them, around them, just running all over the place.
Hiro was having a bit of a hard time keeping up with the rascal. His sharingan was still in the most juvenile stage, so he could not predict its movements, just keep an eye on its chakra in case its body were not visible at some points in time during the chase. In trying to keep up, he bumped into more than a few people, and knocked some things over in the way. He caused a ruckus in at least three different streets.
They made it out of the fifth street they ran about in. Finally, some open space in what appeared to be a field. Just when he thought he was about to get the raccoon, he caught a glimpse of some familiar tracks. Gradually lowering his pace, he made them out to be the same footprints of the trio which he had seen earlier. Effectively, they led to that house he had also seen back then.
Observing the raccoon, he saw it go around the house. His eyes didn't fool him - those other chakras he was seeing were in the shape of dogs. The smaller one matched the description, and using doggie treats, he got the dog back.
