Shop Till You Drop [Mission]

Natsumi stood at the door of the family she was attending to as a mission. Today’s mission was to go shopping for the family. Of this week many of the children of the family have gotten sick and neither parent seems to have time to go out and buy the needed things for the house such a food medicine and other items. Natsumi was assigned with her four ninken to help the family with this problem. Taking a deep breath Natsumi nocked gently. The sound of screaming and running footsteps could be heard before the sound of the door being open could be heard. Looking up Natsumi looked at an older gentleman who looked to be in his early 30’s. ”Hello Himiji-san,” greeted Natsumi as she looked down at the paper in her hand before looking up at him again with a smile, ”My name is Natsumi and I am the shinobi that has been assigned to help you with your shopping needs today.

”Thank kami you are here. Here’s the list of things we need you to buy. Most can be found at the local store down the block but the medicine you need to go to the other side of the village to Kaminari-sensei. He is our family doctor and he has all our prescriptions. Thank you again Natsumi,” smiled Himji-san as he handed Natsumi a piece of paper. Natsumi smiled and bowed as she took the paper before heading down the road with her four puppy ninjas behind her. Natsumi thought it would be the best idea to get the medicine first sicne it was the furthest away and it would be easier since if she went to the store first she would have to drag it to the doctor’s office with her. It didn’t take long for her to get to the other side of the village with her speed. Taking a deep breath she walked up to the door and knocked gently and waited for someone to answer.

After a minute or so the sound of footsteps came to Natsumi’s sensitive ears. Once the footsteps got louder and then stopped Natsumi stepped back a little as the door was pulled open. An elderly female answered the door with a gentle smile across her face. ”How may I help you today?” she asked gently. Natsumi pulled the list out and looked down to the bottom. ”I’m here to pick up the medicine for the Himiji family. They said they had gotten in contact with you a few days ago and they told me their order should be ready,” answered Natsumi with a smile. ”Ah yes of course. Please come in,” smiled the Doctor as she stepped back to let Natsumi and her dogs inside. The puppies barked happily as they fallowed their master inside. Sano kept to Natsumi’s heals while Saito walked at her side with the two females close behind.

”Would you like some tea while you wait. It should only take me a few minutes to find their order,” asked the doctor softly as she gestured for Natsumi to sit down at the table were a few tea cups sat with a large iron kettle sitting on a metal circle sat in the middle of the table. ”Can I help myself then?” asked Natsumi as she look at the kettle. The elderly woman nodded her head before she disappeared through a door into what Natsumi assumed was the medical herd room. Natsumi picked up a cup and picked up the heavy kettle and poured some white peach tea into her cup. Blowing gently on the hot liquid she brought it to her lips and took a few sips. The puppies sat under the table with Saito lying down with his head on his paws with Yumi flopped over him and the other two were playing some sort of nipping fight.

After a few minutes the Doctor appeared once again with a large brown bag. ”Be very careful with these. Most of the medicine is held in glass jars,” smiled the elderly lady as she held the bag out for Natsumi. Natsumi got up from her chair and walked over to her and gently took the bag from her. ”Of course. Thank you Kaminari-sensei,” replied Natsumi as she bowed her head gently before whistling gently for her puppies to fallow. Sano pulled gently on his younger female partner’s ear before running after Natsumi with the other three close behind. The five of them now headed to the local market to get groceries for the family. It took a good ten minutes to get back to the other side of the village since they had to walk slower than they did before because of the medicine they had this time.

Once inside the market Natsumi placed the brown bag in a card and pulled out the list. ”Ok let’s go guys,” grinned Natsumi as she sped walk to her first destination. Natsumi went all over the store and was in there for more than three hours collecting the needed items for the house. Natsumi didn’t know her way around the store since she never did much shopping here. Natsumi did most of her shopping at a smaller store near her home on the west side of Konoha. After finishing the list she had fresh produce, rice, bread, milk, eggs other home essentials and other food items. Taking a deep breath she pushed the overly filled cart to the counter where they started to ring things up. After everything was said and done everything cost around 1200 ryo which wasn’t bad for how big the family was. Paying with the money the mission proctor gave her she took the bags giving the lighter ones for her puppies to carry before heading back to the house.

Once at the home Natsumi knocked gently before gently pushing the door open and walked down the hall to the kitchen. ”I hope you don’t mind that I came in!” called Natsumi as she placed her bags on the kitchen table. ”No its fine thank you,” came a female voice from the living room. Smiling to herself Natsumi started to put the stuff away and once she was done she left the home and headed to the mission building to report that she had finished.
