Pick Those Weeds [Mission]

It was early morning and Natsumi and her pack of ninken where heading to a elderly woman’s house on the north side of the village. Natsumi was told she was a well-known gardener in Konoha and provided the most beautiful flowers to the local flower shops, but just recently she had knee surgery preventing her from attending to her garden properly. Natsumi and her ninken were going to fix up garden and make it as good as new. Natsumi arrived at the home in a couple of minutes. It was small little cottage but it was placed on a very large lot which was covered in flowers but was also overly grown with weeds. Sighing Natsumi rubbed the back of her head before pushing opening the gate to enter into the grounds. Walking down the rock pathway she knocked gently on the wooden door. After a few moments a very youthful looking lady opened the door with a smile.

”You must be Natsumi,” she smiled as she walked out with a small bucket of gardening tools, ”Fallow me.” Natsumi nodded and fallowed after the older woman and through the garden. Natsumi let her eyes travel around the large grounds at all the different types of flowers. It was just beautiful but the weeds were pretty bad and looked to be growing out for a couple of weeks since this lady was in the hospital. ”So the best way to deal with these weeds is to pull them out and place them in this bucket. Once you are done the hose is on the other side of the house and just water everything before you go,” instructed the elderly lady before she placed the bucket down on a table and went back inside. Natsumi sighed and knew this would probably take her all day but good thing she got her ninken to help her.

”Ok guys are you ready to work?” called Natsumi. Several marks were heard coming from her ninkne. Smiled Natsumi performs a few hand seals and in four large poofs of smoke her four ninken had transformed into Natsumi. Smiling to herself they all started to get to work. It took a good chunk of time just to pluck all the weeds from this side of the garden. The heat of the sun was getting hotter and hotter as time when on and Natsumi could feel sweat started to build up on her neck and her face. Natsumi was use to this weather living in Konoha. Sano rolled over onto his back panting and poofed back into his dog form from overheating in the sun. ”Go and cool off in the shade Sano,” called Natsumi softly. The white haired dog blinked and pushed himself to his feet and shook his head as he started to pull out weeds with his mouth. Natsumi smiled loving out hard working all her ninken where and how happy they were to help her.

After another hour the elderly gardener appeared with a jug of iced tea and a large bowl of water. ”You guys are working so hard and it’s so hot I thought you needed a little break and something to drink,” smiled as she placed the tray on the table before she retreated back inside. Natsumi grinned as she got up from her spot and placed the bowl on the ground where the puppies would attack it with licks of thirst. Of course the other three had shifted back into their normal forms were going at the bowl. Giggling to herself Natsumi pored herself a cup of ice tea and drank it down in a couple of sips. After a short five minute break they all started back to work. This job would have taken them all day if Natsumi didn’t have her great ninken partners with her. Natsumi was so glad to be an Inuzuka and to be blessed with so many partners.

Natsumi and the pups would be out in the blazing sun for a good four hours taking five minute breaks after a 45 minute period to cool off so they didn’t pass out in the sun. After they completed the garden it look just as good as new. There wasn’t a single weed in sight but dirt was clogged under her nails and covered her knees, face and hangs. Natusmi was defiantly going to take a bath when she got home and work on her nails until they were clean again. Even though she didn’t act like a girl she did take good care of herself from hair to nails. Pushing her sweaty bangs out of her face she grinned happily. ”Well that’s done. Good job guys,” called Natsumi as she placed her hands on her hips and studied their works. Natsumi never really gardened much since it was more of her mother’s thing when she was still around. Taking a deep breath to calm herself she looked into the sky.

Turning away from the garden she walked to the other side of the house to retrieve the hose. She quickly unwrapped the hose and gave a few yards to each dog that would drag it around the house to the side with the garden. Turning on the water Natsumi would jog to the other side and pick up the hoes before it would start spatting water. Placing her thumb over the hole she started to spray water over the garden. Natsumi was there for almost ten minutes watering the garden. Once she was done she ran around the hose turned it off and whistled. The dogs grabbed the hoes again and dragged it around for her spewing water out the end as they moved it. With the help of her friends she slowly rolled the hose back to its original set up. Groaning slightly Natsumi stretched her arms above her head before she headed back to missions office to give them her report on her mission.
