A nodachi-type, seven-foot-long sword with the blade comprising six of those feet. Its foot-long handle as well as the tsuba are dark grey, while the latter is roughly square - or almost rectangle - in shape. The blade curves only very slightly, which is only really noticeable near the tip.

Object's Capabilities:

Though clearly very difficult to master, the Masamune has its perks. While any nodachi has cutting power superior to that of a katana's due to its size and weight, the Masamune's is even more superior to that of most nodachi, being much longer. Naturally, the wielder of this sword would have an edge over most other swordsmen when it comes to reach. Furthermore, the blade is said to be capable of sustaining several tons of force before it snaps though this has not been put to the test. Approximately four, give or take some fraction. The same is applicable to nicks and cuts, which are almost impossible to inflict upon it. It has been referred to as the Unbreakable Blade, and the Diamond Blade.

Almost impossible to inflict. Kusanagi is stronger in every sense; sturdier, sharper, etc. and that, just for one example, could severely damage Masamune in a prolonged engagement.
