Organization's Name: Ikueikai Name's In-Depth Meaning: Ikueika literally means 'The society of scholars'. Founder: Organization's Symbol: Identifier: The organisation isn't interested in making itself known to the public. They are rather seen as a clan due to the technique most members of the organisation use - Sumi Bungei. However, for the safety of their members - the organisation has created a seal which is shaped as a sort of flower, with minute script doting '知識' [Chishiki] Purpose: The Ikueika reject the idea of fighting for one's own country. Rather, they find unity in seeking knowledge. The organisation transcends the boundaries of the countries and is devoted to seeking knowledge, truth and peace. Anyone who is interested in seeking knowledge is welcome. no age limit has been set on the group and members views are equally listened to. Knowledge on medicine, shinobi, history, clans and much is shared within the organisation. Historical Background: The organisation was created after the war, by Hana Shikibari of Konoha. She was a kunoichi who rejected the purpose of war without knowledge. She criticized the system of shinobi - fighting mindlessly without reason nor question. As of such, the woman began her quest of what she termed 'The search for truth'. Over time, she was aided by scholars and even shinobi who had a similar mindset to that of Hana. This organisation started small in Shukuba Town. However as time passed - the nameless group expanded throughout the lands and came to be termed as 'Ikueikai'. - Traitors of the Stone:
Iwagakure soon saw this organisation as trouble. While they were harmless - many of its members began to openly object to mindless warfare. The tsuchikage was worried that the little group could stir up trouble [protests and congregations] that would disrupt peace at a delicate time after war. As of such, he sent shinobi to investigate and if seen a threat - to kill them. The shinobi concluded that they were a threat by gathering information that scrolls containing in-dept knowledge on Iwa's clans and techniques were being stored. This conclusion led to the massacre of more than half the Ikueikai. Iwa took this opportunity to gather as many scrolls - even those belonging to other villages.
The loss was huge. Much life and Knowledge was lost. Controversy rose that totally giving up the life of the shinobi was not possible. One must not be defenseless in a world where blood could be drawn in seconds. As of such,a technique rose. A technique that literally was built on the term 'The pen is mightier than the sword'
- Creation of the Sumi Bungei Technique:
The Sumi Bungei technique [Ink Technique of Art and Literature] focuses on channeling chakra to any liquid [preferably ink] in order to create various contructs and creatures that are able to take form. However, many limitations could be seen as the ink required paper and one needed to be artistic in order to execute the technique. As of such, while it did serve a good defense - the technique's drawbacks made it suitable for long ranged combat. Many were content with it though soon - Ikueikai began to drift in their views.
- Drifting Views
Many members began taking interest in the newly founded technique. As of such, research in the technique began to progress quickly. Hana disliked this - the motive of the organisation was being subdued with the arrival of the new technique. She wished to retrieve the lost knowledge before moving onto tot this. Many sided with Hana while a few decided to continue with research.
- Creation of the Sumi Fuin [Ink Seal] :
Three years passed, by now Ikueikai had strengthened in both number and information. At the same time did the people who pursued research in Sumi Bungei make a breakthrough. They created The Sumi Fuin - a seal that mixed chakra infused ink with one's blood and hence allowed one make constructs in thin air by either drawing or writing the technique name and then executing it with a single handseal. This could be done without the use of scrolls or brushes. The technique had potential and as of such was it deemed that technique be taught and possessed by members within the organisation. The Sumi fuin also served the purpose of 'branding' their members with '知識' [Chishiki] as to avoid traitors. The seal on its own without the knowledge of the technique's execution is useless.
