He leant against one end of the bridge seemingly so content with the peace. The Kannabi bridge was one the main routes from Iwagakure to Kusagakure. While they did have guards posted at the village - it was indeed a precaution to check through travellers during the late hours. And today, Nagawa took the job of supervising the routine. A stationed chunnin did most of the work - all he had to do was stand there and perhaps interrogate one or two suspicious looking folk.
Right now, there was hardly a traveller or caravan that passed by every half an hour or so. Lighting his cigarette, the man began to smoke - trying to ease himself from the tense situation he was in. Seemed that the bodyguard couldn't keep his mouth shut. News spread like a wildfire. Meh, there went his reputation. Not that he really had one. People just saw him as a jerk. Though now , he'd be termed both a jerk and a murderer. It would only be a matter of time before the woman confronts him about the assault.
The Jounin checked through peoples belonging and identifications more thoroughly than usual. Perhaps he was being a bit too paranoid.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true]she'll never cover up what we did with her dress, no she said kiss me it'll heal but it won't forget tags: nagawa notes: ~o~ words: 384 credit: akemi of btn Kasumi was tired. She'd been up through the latest hours of the night agonizing over what to do about the situation with her children. Madoka had been assigned to Hashi, her personal bodyguard, instead of going to team meetings where her brother would have had too many opportunities to off her. So at least the daimyo knew that her little girl was safe. She wouldn't have known what to do with herself if she'd lost Madoka - sure, she would have been able to cope eventually, but her daughter meant the world to her... even if she didn't always show it.
It was what to do about Nagawa that had plagued her thoughts. Every instinct told her to just kill the bastard - she outclassed him, even if he was a little prodigy, so it wasn't like she would have to worry about getting seriously injured herself. But the part of her that cared about him - it was a very small part, mind you - said that although his hatred was misguided, perhaps there was something she could do to - to fix him. But at the same time... she thought that maybe there wasn't a way to fix a hatred that deep. And although it pained her to admit it, she couldn't blame him for hating her after what she'd done. She blamed him for being enough of a coward to go behind her back, to attack her daughter, who was practically defenseless. So, she had decided that as of then, Nagawa was a dead man walking.
It was a simple matter to find out where Nagawa was today - he was stationed at the Kannabi Bridge, checking through the belongings of anyone who looked suspicious. And so she had left her paperwork - and her alcohol - behind and set off to find him. Would she kill him today? Perhaps. Or perhaps the spineless bastard would get to see another day. A lot of it would depend on what he did when she approached.
"Oh, Nagawa-kun~" Kasumi pounced on him from behind, putting up the front of her usually cheery attitude - trying to send out good vibes rather than 'I'm going to strangle you' vibes - leaned forward, and kissed his cheek. "I need to borrow you for a moment~" |

Small lanterns lit either side of the bridge. The lights where enough to see, check and take down details. They had one detainee at the moment. The rogue was caught and was soon to be taken into proper interrogation by collection units who were to arrive soon. Nagawa took another puff from his cigarette as he noted down the number of visitors up until now. He had let his guard down, easing himself with the constant intake of tobacco. A sudden hug and certain voice almost made the man jump. The guard opposite Nagawa set his eyes on them as she planted a kiss on his cheek. The chunnin immediately gave a bow a second later.
Shit. Kasumi. Turning around, he made sure her hands were off him. He looked a bit worried for a second. Perhaps it was the fear that she infected him that got all tensed. Well no wonder the chunnn didn't warn him, thinking it was just his own 'mother'. ''Kasumi?'' he scowled though genuinely surprised. She was out alone at this hour? No alcohol or men around her either. She was indeed here due to the morning's incident, itching to draw his blood no doubt. Who knows what Hashi had exaggerated.
''If its about Madoka, then not now. I have to get back to work.'' he spoke to the point. He would be digging his own grave if he smart-mouthed her right now. Honestly, if he wanted to kill Madoka , he would have done it with one or two punches to the gut without attracting much attention. Yet, he didn't. The arrogant part of him wanted to snap and say |You should be grateful|. He let out a final puff away from the woman's face before dropping the stick on the ground and crushing it with his foot.

She pouted, put an arm around him, and began to pull him away from the bridge, where she could speak to him without other people listening in. "Oh, don't look so surprised to see me. Can't I come visit with you whenever I want, hmm?" Kasumi ruffled his hair, knowing it would probably annoy the hell out of him. "And don't scowl like that." she scolded.
Kasumi's brows rose when he refused. "Did you just say no to your leader? Last I checked, you're not allowed to do that." Her upbeat, cheerful tone had taken an undertone of ice - she wasn't going to let him walk away from this conversation until it was done. If he was able to walk away from it at all. "We've got some very important things to talk about. I suggest you come with me willingly or I might have to knock you out, tie you up, and have my way with you~" Of course, the latter was merely an empty threat - if she got that close to him, it would be to kill him, not anything else - but knowing the boy, he would think her to be serious. He'd probably call her a whore - and not for the first time, either.
"It's not entirely about Madoka. Although, I have to say... You are in so much trouble for that incident." She looked up at him, expression soured. "You are very lucky to be alive right now. I want to hear your side of this story before I gut you like a fish." Really, his death was inevitable - and he probably knew that as well. Even if Nagawa had only bruised her daughter, he would have gotten a severe punishment. From what Hashi had told her, he had done worse - and assured his death in the process. There was just one thing she wasn't sure of - to make it quick and relatively painless, or to draw it out until he was begging to die? |

The woman was impossible. She put her arm around him once again and tried to run her fingers through his hair. He lifted his head away from the reach half-way. He resisted the urge to just push her away. Stupid female. She knew he disliked her presence. The scowl stayed. It actually worsen as she spoke. Threats. It was all she ever gave. "Ugh...disgusting" he murmured under his breathe - just enough for the woman to hear. The thoughts that passed his head were directed towards her everyday 'hobby'. He went along with her, irritated about how close she had managed to get to him. 'Important things?'. Oh, she was here for Madoka alright. Might as well get this topic with right now. Hm? He raised a brow as she spoke of listening to his side of the story. That...wasn't Kasumi-like. Either she'd kill him, cripple him or spare him. This was...what, mercy? Well, whatever - he would take it anyway. "Of what I hear people speak of, you think I was going to kill her, right?" he started off as so they would be on the same page. Explanation was something he disliked doing, Then again, if he had explained the situation to Hashi , he wouldn't have been in this mess. Such an Idiot. "I did throw a few slaps at her. Then... was just going to make her go numb with a shock. Yeah, it was a pretty strong tech, buuut...I know how to control my power. " he summarized it in three sentences. The kick across the room wasn't necessary. Her bodyguard would have most probably exaggerated the lightning tech bit. "If I really wanted to kill her....a punch to break that face of hers would have been enough. Buut no, that little bitch isn't my target" he eyes her as he took his time in speaking. Hopefully it would make her think - he wasn't going to kill Madoka, mostly likely because he feared for his own life. The man readied himself to Shunshin himself out of there and to a nearby tree, if she tried to kill him. ------ Statistics:

The whole country probably knows by now." To be honest? He wasn't exactly wrong about the whore part. Kasumi was never satisfied with just one man or woman - no, she had to have them all, and each in a different way. So, yes, she was a whore. But at least she was fairly discreet about it - even if it didn't seem that way - and didn't tend to let it interfere with her work. Ehe.. much. "But it's not like you're a pure, chaste little virgin yourself." She knew very well he'd picked up some of her own habits in the past year or so, and he couldn't deny it. Sure, perhaps he didn't go to the extent that she did, but still.
"I was told you were aiming to kill her with a lightning technique before you were, ah, tackled by Hashi." Kasumi responded. If speaking to anyone else, she would have laid on thick about how she didn't believe Nagawa could ever do such a thing, his parents would be so disappointed in him, she just didn't know what to do about him - but this was not the time for bullshit. It wasn't like he would believe any of it anyway. He had always been the one to consistently see through her lies and deception.
The hanchou listened to his explanation and frowned. "She's just a little girl, Nagawa." she murmured softly. "She has nothing to do with your conflict with me, why do you insist on dragging her into it? What did she ever do to you to make you hate her so much?" Well, she could think of a couple things - probably even the fact that she'd been born made Nagawa hate her little girl. "Is it because she has your mother's name?" |
