The people of the Tanzui Clan are the product of generations of selective breeding. Though the Clan no longer takes such pride it's genetics the intended genes are still very strong in current generations. The genes of course were for the perfect Taijutsu warriors at the behest of the Clan's original goal to create the perfect Ninja without ninjutsu.

Clan Perk: Taijutsu may start at D-Rank instead of E-Rank. However only those of direct and pure lineage may benefit from this. A Character with say a mother of a different Clan will not get this perk.

Historical Background:

Many years ago there was a Shinobi of the Hidden Cloud. His name was Kenpachi Tanzui and legends spoke of his strength and speed. He was a taijutsu master above all others.

However he had lead a hard life to make it to this point for Kenpachi was unskilled in the finer shinobi arts. He could not control his chajkra to allow him to muster anything more than C-Rank jutsu. Thus Kenpachi had a very hard life as a ninja having to work tirelessly day and night to improve his physical abilities just to gain equal footing among other Shinobi.

Even when his hard work had bore it's fruit and he was a celebrated shinobi Kenpachi still felt cheated. Years of hard work and solitude had turned him bitter. He had began to loathe the other Shinobi of the village and when his time came to bore sons (quite a lot of sons) he passed these traits down to them.

With great love for their father, and most similarly unsuited to ninjutsu, his sons sought only kunoichi of the highest physical ability and, failing that, woman of no ninja rank at all. The sons all swore oaths to create a new generation of ninja without 'all that hokey magic shit' (this soon became something of a catchphrase among the clan) and when it came time for their sons to pick wives each of their respective fathers was sure to nudge them in the right direction whether it was to their liking or not. A Family Symbol was created too. A circle with two intersecting lines within it. The circle represented the mind of the Tanzui Shinobi and the two lines represented the key charecteristics of a Tanzui Shinobi: Speed and Strength.

Due to the clan's virile nature and tendency to create dominant genes, and male children, there was a boom of Tanzui ninja within Kumogakure. Their ranks swelled with ninja who's physical prowess were indeed formidable but ninjutsu skills laughable at best. The worst part of all being the sheer arrogance and prideful attitude of the Clan who were not quite afraid to make it known their distate for the use of Ninjutsu.

This irritated other ninja to some degree. Some believed that the Tanzui were crafting some crazy plot to take the village for themselves. Others thought they were trying to eradicate the art of ninjutsu altogether. Most just felt that they were assholes.

However there was never any open aggression until the day a Tanzui clan member killed another Shinobi over a drunken quarrel. Those who had only suspected ill of the Tanzui began to believe ill of the Tanzui. Hostility only grew as the Tanzui reeled from the distrust of the other villagers. Te very thought gave them cause to anger. Hostilities grew to breaking point and just as it seemed there was going to be civil war the Raikage called a peace meeting. He brought the leaders of the Tanzui Clan together with the leaders of those that distrusted them and after many hours of deliberation an agreement was finally made. The Tanzui would give up their selective breeding and, to honour that agreement, the other clans of Kumogakure would offer up their daughters for the unwed of the Tanzui Clan.

So from there onward the majority of the Tanzui Clan made mates of whomever they wish though it was very often that some of the other Clans would offer up there daughters. The Tanzui physical capabilities were good stock for Shinobi when mixed with the proper Kunoichi. Many say that it is due to the Tanzui Clan's vast and far reaching integration into other clans of Kumogakure that the Shinobi of the village have always had a bit of a reputation for their physical abilities. Of course this is just speculation.

In any case due to many of their offspring being claimed by other clans and their 'pure' genes being diluted by years of regular breeding the Clan tself has dwindled in stature and members severely. There are less than a handful in the village who can still claim to be true and pure Tanzui Clan members with the lack of ninjutsu expertise to prove it.
