EVERYONE IS A VICTIM TO THAT ATTRACTION, YEAH!
► Appearance
His hair is jet black and short clinging to his head. One unruly strand almost always falls forward onto his forehead however. His one good eye is as dark and unyielding as his other which beard a diagonal scar across it. He has no sight in this eye so he prefers to keep it under a patch. His one eye, however, is usually the thing that grabs peoples attention however making it that bit harder to stay out of sight.
A weapon master such as he is he finds the military-style uniform gives him the necessary amount of pockets to carry what he needs. He also finds that due to his official looking garb he is bothered as least as possible. However he wears The Legendary Sword of Kenpachi across his back rather than at his hip as the blade is much too long to be held at his hip.
His clothes also do a good job of concealing his body. Underneath his clothing is a myriad of scars on flesh harder than any stone. The cutting of his clothing is designed to conceal the bulk within. His training too emphasizes on compacting (toning) his muscles rather than turning into some amorphous blob of muscle.
► Mental Assessment
Kenpachi's method of training has lead to a mind as hardened as his body. He is a keen observer and his intellect is greater than one might suspect at first glance. The subtler movements of skilled taijutsu are not for the dimwitted.
He bears grudges only when he believes them to be due. for example; against the brewmaster who drugged him. He knows hate is a sign of weakness and creates weakness in whoever indulges it. Despite this he has let hate for whomever it was that framed him. If he were to find such a person revenge would not be far from off the table.
He is hesitant to trust. After all he is hunted almost every moment of his life. Any person could be a spy or become one if they found out what he was. It is deeper than this however. In a way he believes himself to be cursed. Those who have ever trusted in him to keep them safe have died. Arya, the girl disembowelled by a rogue chuunin, had followed him in a foolish quest for glory. His team, Aang, Sokka, Katara, all murdered by unknown forces seeking to frame him. Those who trust in him, he believes, pay a fatal price for it.
Kenpachi has devoted so much of his life to training that his likes and dislikes seem to float in an ever changing wind. He likes what is useful to him and dislikes what is not. He is not an unfeeling soul but rather slightly indifferent to that which is not his purpose.
Kenpachi has humanity; as much humanity as a Shinobi can have. He will kill without a second thought but only when he needs too. Sadly, however, now that he is a hunted rogue nin his run-ins with Shinobi tend to be fatal otherwise the wounded Shinobi could alert other Shinobi to his whereabouts. On the other hand, when Kenpachi sees injustice so cruel it is hard to ignore or someone in plain trouble he will help if he can. He can, and has, put other's safety above his own. He is not an unjust man but a Shinobi born into an unjust world.
► Background Information
[/justify]Feel Pain. Contemplate Pain. Accept Pain. Know Pain.
Kenpachi, named after the great patron of the Tanzui Clan, was born a true member of the Tanzui Clan in all respects: impeccably bred and terrible at any form of Chakra moulding. His father (Sozin Tanzui), and him essentially, were said to be the direct descendent of the original Kenpachi's eldest son. Their branch of the family had always been the most zealous in their belief of the Clan's original goal.
From the moment Kenpachi could walk he was training at his father's behest. His father, the leader of their clan, was a strict and brutal task master. His taijutsu skill was the greatest in the village at that time and he was highly respected among his peer Jounin. The secrets to unlocking the true talent of the body had been passed down through the eldest son's direct descendent and it was said he could open up to six of the eight gates that block a Shinobi's true physical power.
Sozin's policy on training was to create pain and overcome it. The only way to truly progress, in his mind, was to find new levels of pain and overcome them. This made the body as strong as the mind. His father expected great things of his eldest and trained him the hardest.Academy Life: The Trials, the Pain, the Ninjutsu
By the time Kenpachi joined the Academy he was already versed in many taijutsu techniques and excelled in this part of his training with some ease. Of course when it came to mastering jutsu Kenpachi was worse even then the usual student who had never tried it before. This lead to his classmates mocking him on occasion and some of the adults were not much better. Some Proctors were especially harsh to him due to his heritage. It was well known that Sozin bared disregard for the Tanzui's old promise to stop their elitist ways and this caused many to be wary of him at the very least and openly distrusting at the most. He was once called out in the middle of class to present a Clone Technique by an especially harsh proctor. When he failed to do so the Proctor openly mocked him and encouraged his classmates to laugh.
His father had words with the Proctor; painful, painful words.
Luckily for Kenpachi due to the Villages once Tanzui outbreak there were old laws in place to allow the Tanzui to graduate without having to master all of the regularly needed techniques. He was to spar with the current Tanzui Clan Leader while a Proctor watched and assessed his skill. The Clan Leader so happened to be his father and a brutal beating was in store for him. A bruised and battered
Kenpachi held enough of his own against the superior force to be deemed Graduation worthy. Said Proctor even commented on the sheer tenacity of the boy; no matter how hard his father hit Kenpachi would always right himself and get right back into the fight. Kenpachi broke several bones that day.The Life of a Beginner Shinobi
When he was fit for duty again he began his life as a Genin. His three man squad was made up of two girls and himself. One was a prospective medical nin and another a hopeful genjutsu user. Their sensai was a rugged, old katon/fuuton master who couldn't give a crap about his squad. His philosophy was to do the job a quickly as possible and then leave the Genin to their own devices.
Kenpachi's training was still from his father so this did not matter so much. Kenpachi was a dutiful son. He saw some honour in the honing of his body and no matter how hard his father beat him he never held a grudge. As far as he was concerned every beating was another chance to grow stronger. Another lesson in the pain he needed to overcome.
When he was not training with his father he was training even harder pushing his body to limits he could not when simply learning techniques and sparring. He done this usually through repetitive motion for hours and hours on end forgoing food and water as long as he could so that his body could grow harder and harder as he depended less and less on the seeming 'needs' of his body.Fight For the Chuunin Exams – The First Gate
A year later, when Kenpachi was just thirteen years old, the Chuunin Exams were held. Their sensai was adamant that they were not ready but Kenpachi fought with tooth and nail and eventually it was decided that if the team could pass his own test then they would enter the Exam. Kenpachi accepted, on behalf of the team, and the Sensai laid out the terms of the game. He was going to hide anywhere in the entire village and the surrounding area at midnight that very day and if the team could locate him before Noon then they would win.
Of course their squad had no sensors and frankly no way to find such a superior shinobi. Kenpachi would not give up and pushed the search further and further until the Squad found themselves hopelessly lost on some mountain's forest. This was when fate sent them disatster in the form of Nukenin and this wasn't just a single rogue ninja. This was two Chuunin who had, in fact, just left Kumo fresh from murdering a civilian and stealing all of his money. Thankfully Kenpachi saw these ninja first and was able to quiet his team members and keep them all hidden.
He overheard them speaking and learnt of their crimes. Giving up on the game and putting aside his whole lost issue Kenpachi was determined to bring them to justice in the nae of his Village; in the name of his Clan!
The girls however greatly disagreed to the point where one left to make her own way back to the village. The other girl, who was sweet on Kenpachi (though he had no knowledge of this), stood by him despite his foolishness. So the two stalked their prey for some time. The Chuunin were either dimwitted or waiting for them to make a move for they did not seem to notice the two.
When the Chuunin lay down to sleep Kenpachi and Arya (the girl) leap to the attack hoping the surprise would give them enough of an advantage. However the Chuunin were just pretending. They had noticed their stalkers some time ago and had made a plan to catch them through use of codewords.
The Chuunin were appropriately skilled and a fair battle raged. Kenpachi managed to lure one of the Chuunin into an explosive tag trap blowing one of his legs to pieces. Believing the man to be out of the fight he had continued to fight the man's partner but, in a moment of distraction the downed chuunin threw a kunai at Kenpachi which narrowly avoided going through his eye socket and into his brain for the boy had turned his head away and instead the kunai had grazed across his eyelid and iris creating a deep vertical gouge across Kenpachi's eye that would leave his eye useless for the rest of his life.
Kenpachi fell backward clutching at his eye unable to fight past such a pain. It was then, as he was downed incapacitated by his own weakness, that Arya was disembowelled in front of his very eye by the other Chuunin. Kodaji sudenly leapt upright pushing his body beyond the great pain pushing his body beyond any limit he had ever pushed and, by doing this, Kodaji triggered the release of The Gate of Opening. A technique his father had somewhat secretly been teaching him. You see the Gate responded to intense willpower, the greatest spasm of the brain muscle, and through relentless training focussing on endurance and perseverence he had grown his sons will to such a level that all it needed was one great leap like the kind of willpower one must show to get back into a fight after losing sight in one eye and see.
In this mode Kenpachi rather easily devastated the two Chuunin who simply could not keep up with the boys new found strength and speed. When they were finished the Gate shut and the boy fell to his knees weeping over the bloody corpse of the girl. This was how his Sensai eventually found him. The girl had managed to run into the hiding sensai on her way back to the village and had told the old man everything causing him to rush out at speed. He may have been lazy and careless but he had, of course, no wish for his charges to be killed in a foolish attack on Nukenin.
He was taken back to the village and Arya given a proper burial. His father was very proud of him but the boy did not feel proud of himself. He allowed a squad mate to die because of his weakness and he had also lost sight in an eye due to his foolishness. He vowed to never again let weakness rule his actions. He would fight until the very moment of his death.Recovery Through Training
It took him two years to recover and adapt to his new situation. He was given leave for said time. The village was greatful for his assistance in taking down the rouge Chuunin and knew the ordeal must have been traumatising. Kenpachi did not take this time to heal emotionally but instead to adjust and overcoe his new disability. It was indeed bothersome that he had but one eye. He had to go back to the very fundamentals of taijutsu and re-learn everything. This was easier than first thought when one spent practically every day in training. His father helped a lot but even he had duties he could not abandon. The boy, however, seemed to have all the time in the world.
Remastering the fundamentals actually made Kenpachi a better fighter on the whole. He also took up a healthy amount of sword training too; another thing their clan was known for. His father was a skilled sword master and taught him much. Kenpachi would once wield the sword of his greatest ancestor. The Legendary Sword of Kenpachi would one day be passed down to him through his father when he became the leader of the Clan so, until then, he would need to master as much of the sword as he possibly could.
His father also taught him about the eight gates. It was mostly theoretical teaching however as he advised Kenpachi on the dangers of opening the gates recklessly. The gates were not to be opened on a whim. Not even he would do such a thing. It was true that Kenpachi had never seen his father open any of the Gates.
Between all that some days it felt as if Kenpachi did nothing else and most days that was indeed true. It seemed a century had passed before his leave finally ended and he was returned to the world of the Shinobi.A Chuunin Exam Unworth Waiting For
When he did return however he was just in time for a Chuunin Exam which he entered with a new squad containing the girl who had ran away in the forest and a boy who knew some katon ninjutsu. Both were the same age as he so they were relatively alright for Genin with some steady mission experience under their belt.
The Chuunin Exams were, in fact, rather uneventful. It was clear Kenpachi outmatched every other Genin in the entire event by some margin. He never had to open a gate not even in the final tournament matches where he went up against a mild suiton user. The boy was easily negated by using speed to keep behind him and strike while he was readying his next jutsu. They boy was knocked out in relatively quick time and suffered several nasty injuries a broken collarbone almost paralysing the boy.
Kenpachi was moderately irked he had been made to wait for such a trivial matter. In all fairness the boys skills had exploded since he had first asked his Sensai all that time ago to let him do the Chuunin Exams and his squad mates at the time would have greatly hindered him even if he had been ready for they surely had not been.Stealing The Scroll: It's a Trap! - The Second Gate
It was thus that Kenpachi began his life as a middle-class Shinobi. Life did not seem to change much however. He did missions, trained and resented his Sensai more than ever. His skills continued to grow and grow until he was noticed by the current Raikage of that time. He was approached by the Raikage and assigned his Jounin Exam. He and two members of the Ikazuchi Satsu, Kumo's version of the Anbu, were tasked to steal an important scroll from the Village Hidden in the Stone which, at that time, was ruled by the very first Tsuchikage.
The mission was going well until one his team mates made a misstep upon a rooftop and a slab of roof tiling fell to the floor smashing noisily upon the ground. They had to deal with some alarmed shinobi quickly lest the general alarm be raised and the entire village unleashed upon them. Kenpachi flexed his willpower remembering how he had felt when first opened that gate and released the gate of Opening for the second time in his life.
He took out several shinobi quickly and quietly which allowed the group to progress. When they reached the reported whereabouts of the scroll they were ambushed by Iwa nin who had perpetrated the rumour to purposefully catch the Cloud Village in an underhanded move. They were cornered and outnumbered but Kenpachi fought on until he was tired and beaten. Remembering then what his father had taught him in his theoretical lessons on the other gates of the body he attempted what he had never done before; the release of The Gate of Healing. He succeeded and the rush of new energy gave him a second wind to defeat the remaining ninja and get his team to safety.
Though, technically, they had failed the mission the Raikage of the time saw Kenpachi's resourcefulness on the mission as a great success. The Iwa nin had been killed. No-one would know of the Clouds indiscretion. He promoted Kenpachi to Jounin and offered him a spot in his Ikazuchi Satsu. Kenpachi declined. He had seen the pathetic skill of his companions and believed the organisation beneath him.More Training – Kenpachi Falls in Love - Time Passes
Kenpachi was not assigned a squad right out of the bat. He was considered something of a junior Jounin despite having the skill to take down most Jounin by this age. He was sent on missions with different squads usually as a leader but never staying with one squad long enough to have a team really.
Most of his time was spent training; more taijutsu, more sword training, more theoretical lessons about the gates. Missions, taijutsu training, kenjutsu training, gate lessons, rinse and repeat. He lived the life of a ninja for many years in this way. At some point Kenpachi slowed down; he learned to live his life in other ways. He found love in the team member that had once ran at his foolishness. She bore a son. All was well.Becoming a Leader
On the year Kenpachi turned twenty-eight his father became ill. He was not the great warrior he had once been ageing far into his sixties. He had a minor heart attack one day and was confined to bed for many months. In lieu of their usual training Kenpachi would simply sit with his father for an hour or two every day. Some days the man was even well enough to speak. On those days they spoke of the gates. The old Shinobi had devoted his life to its secrets and he was determined to spill as many as he possibly could before his time came.
His father's health seemed to be returning to him bit by bit until winter hit and the man contracted a deadly cold. Such a thing played havoc with his already weakened immune system. One day when Kenpachi came to visit his father he found their entire clan huddled in that room with the bedridden old man. The Legendary Sword of Kenpachi lay across his father's lap. His father told him it was time to pass on the sword and leadership of the Clan. Kenpachi did not object. His father's word had always been final and he respected that. He did not want to lead but his father was trusting him with such an honour he could not refuse. He spoke the oath which was mostly made up of the redundant practices of the original sons of the great Kenpachi. He promised to honour the body and all that it could do without 'all that hokey magic shit.' When the ceremony was done Kenpachi was the leader of the Clan and the newest owner of the sword that had passed down through their clan for generations.
His father died less than two weeks later. It was unexpected and in his sleep. He had no final words...
Being the leader of the clan brought unexpected difficulties for Kenpachi. There was a lot one did not realise went into the maintaining of a clan. One had to deal with the petty squabbles of clan members and even squabbles with other clans. He had to make sure it did not seem like the Tanzui Clan were up their old tricks which near enough everyone seemed to believe they were.Becoming a Leader: In More Ways Than One
Eventually however leading the clan became second nature to Kenpachi and he was able to do other things with his time even while dealing with all the tricky politics of leading a clan. This was fortunate as he was very soon assigned a Genin Squad. Certain allowances had been made for him over the years allowing him to develop his potential to a certain point before giving him the potential drainers that were Genin.
His squad was made up of two boys and a girl; Katara, Sokka and Aang. Katara was a natural healer and already studying some Iryou Ninjutsu; Aang was something of a prodigy in Fuuton ninjutsu and Sokka was a bumbling buffoon no good in any one area. Remembering the horrible failure of his own squad he took a more persistent approach to their training. Despite not being able to help in Katara and Aang's training he made sure they were putting as much effort into it as he could squeeze out of them. As for Sokka he took the boy under personal apprenticeship.Sokka Knows Pain
The boy was stubborn but willing to learn. He even had the guts to stomach learning in the same way that Kenpachi had. Kenpachi went slightly easier on the boy however. He was not as used to the pain as Kenpachi had grown. He subtly increased the pain of each session in order to increase the boys endurance without scaring him off entirely.
The boy was progressing and Kenpachi was learning too. Teaching another was enlightening to say the least. Kenpachi still could not achieve that Third Gate. He spent some time meditating on this and even opening the gates when there was nothing to gain but testing different methods of opening the third gate. He seemed almost stumped. By the time his father had turned thirty he had mastered at least six.“Witness in blood the dawn of the new Shinobi” – The Third Gate
Sokka complained incessantly about having to do D-Rank missions. He was eager to prove himself and, remembering his own disastrous attempt at proving himself, he allowed the team to go on a C-Rank mission. They were to escort a brew-master from the Village Hidden in the Clouds to the Land of Fire where he lived.
Two days out of the Village they settled down for the night in a rock quarry. To celebrate their good progress the man bade them all to take a drink of his finest liquor. Kenpachi was against it at first but when he saw the gratitude on the man's face he knew it would be a dishonour to decline such an honour. He drank long and hardily though he would not allow his young pupils to consume any alcohal.
Not very long after Kenpachi fell into a great stupor. He had many fitful dreams that night but what he awoke to was a horror even worse than any nightmare. His young charges were dead, brutally slaughtered and pinned to the rock surfaces with kunai, the client was gone and a large message written in red upon the quarry walls read:Witness in blood the dawn of the new Shinobi,
Kenpachi of the True Shinobi Way
Kenpachi ranted and raved. Tore out chunks of his hair but still he found the scene before him had not changed. He did this for some time until he heard a call from a familiar voice. When he turned he was astonished to find a full squad of Kumo hunter-nin lead by his own brother, Korugi Tanzui.
It was then that Kenpachi witnessed the full deviousness of what had occurred. His Genin were slaughtered and a signed confession wirtten in their own blood. This combined with a squad of hunter-nin appearing before anything could be done about it lead to one hell of an attempt to frame him.
Korugi explained his wife had found a letter. A confession in his own handwriting. Korugi had not believed such a thing could be true and had gathered together all of the Tanzui Clan hunter nin and instructed Kenpachi's wife not to say a word about the letter to anyone else. However seeing Kenpachi here like this what he had read could only now be true.
Kenpachi pleaded of his guilt but his brother, though loving, had always bore some modicum of ill will to Kenpachi for being father's favourite. Korugi ordered the attack. Kenpachi would not fight them at first but it was soon evident that the game had been well played and he was not going to get out of this. He opened the gates and through some miracle or subconscious revelation the third gate he had waited so long to crack released giving Kenpachi the strength and speed to defeat his once comrades.
He did not know his newfound strength however and instead of incapacitated his comrades he had killed them outright. Standing in the face of six counts of murder should he return to his village Kenpachi turned his back on everything he had ever known and fled.Living in Disgrace: The Life of a Rogue Shinobi
Kenpachi moved around from place to place. He kept a firm distance from each of the rogue villages. Training now was more important than ever but he could do so only in secret as to never arouse suspicion of his true identity and nature. He took work where he could find it. He lived in inns and hostels accepting hospitality only when he could afford it. He had lived a hard life; spending a few weeks out in the cold bothered him little.
A decade after he fled that forsaken quarry, upon the man's fourth decade of life, he settled down in the Land of Fire. He built a log cabin an a forest far away enough from anything that he finally found safe and began a quiet life as a Hermit. The peace and quiet allowed him to return to his training. He no longer knew why or what he trained for. He had forsaken everything dear to him; his village; his clan; his family. There was nothing left to fight for and yet still he trained. Training soon became his life and his purpose.A Visit From Mother
Five years passed and Kenpachi grew stronger. However all was not well. He had encountered a similar block as before. The next gate would not open. All his father had taught him about the gates could not explain this. It felt as if he was missing some key ingredient. He began to think on the ways he had opened the first, second and third gate. His father had been vaguely correct about opening them but he felt almost as if his father had been wrong too. As if all his father knew of the gates was a vague assumption of the truth; as if his theories worked but were the most roundabout way of doing it like instead of climbing directly up a mountain he was being lead in a spiral around the mountain that slowly increased in height as it looped around itself.
He meditated on this for most of those three years but his biggest revelation occurred when an elderly woman rapped upon his door one morning. His mother had spent her last years gathering information on him. She had never believed her boy capable of such atrocities. When she had found out she had a fatal heart condition she had set out from the village. It was only by luck that she found him as she was passing by a village when a child recognised the Tanzui symbol on a necklace she was wearing. Kenpachi could not abandon the sword of his ancestors and though he usually kept it wrapped in bandages once or twice it had been drawn for one reason or another.
His mother had been quite a tracker once and it seemed she still was. From that tip she managed to find where he was hidden. Despite his longing to see her Kenpachi was furious at his mother for finding him. Hunter nin were most likely on her heels already. He had to leave yet another home.
His mother confessed she was not there just on a social call. She was there to relay his father's last wishes which she had been instructed to relay when Kenpachi seemed ready. As she was running out of time however there was little time for that. She told Kenpachi that there was a secret about the Tanzui Clan nobody knew. It was said that there were nine sons of Kenpachi but there were, in fact, ten sons. The true first born of Kenpachi was known as Zoroki and he had not taken the oath the other nine sons had taken upon the inception of the clan. He believed their goal to be dishonourable. It was said that he was an even greater Shinobi than the original Kenpachi for he knew the true secret to unlocking the bodies potential. A secret which he had passed some of down to the next eldest brother. However when he would not join the oath said brother openly cursed him to exile sending him away from the family and declaring himself eldest and Leader of the new clan. Zoroki left the village that night never to return but it is said he, and his true ways of the body, live on in secret for any Shinobi willing to find and pledge themselves to it.
Kenpachi berated his mother for risking everything just to tell him some legend that was most likely untrue. After all such a man ought to be long and truly dead by now. His mothers reply was that Zoroki did not leave the village alone, he had a wife and son. It would not be impossible for his line to have survived. His father, she had told him, had great hopes for Kenpachi. He had believed him to be the reincarnated soul of their great patron sent to this earth to find and reunite the lost segment of the Clan.
He asked how he could do this when he could not even unlock the fourth gate. Her answer was that his father hadn't either. There was a reason the man rarely opened the gates. It reminded him of his and his ancestors failings. Zoroki had left before teaching the second eldest son the secret to unlocking the fourth gate and that very secret may well only live on in his descendants so if Kenpachi wanted to complete his training, and restore his honour, he had to track down the missing line.Searching for Destiny
That night Kenpachi gathered what he needed and set his house alight. He bade his mother goodbye sharing one last hug with her before leaving yet another home behind him. His mother had brought some of the scrolls highlighting the history of the great, and original, Kenpachi. The true history. His first port of call was the sites of significance in Kenpachi's life. Being his first born Zoroki had seen the most of Kenpachi's life and may have decided to settle down somewhere significant to his father. This yielded little result but to get him noticed once or twice when he happened to be wearing the sword of the very man who was memorialised in some of these place.
This is not the only thing he searches for however. He is searching for the man who framed him or, at least, the man that had given him that drugged alcohol. Yoki Hakarashi had been the man's name or at the very least his cover. He has been missing ever since that fateful day assumed killed by Kenpachi.
He managed to look without incident however. Despite this he came no closer to finding the lost lineage of his Clan. He did not let his faith dwindle; not even when he heard news of his mother's passing. He would search until the very day of his death for this was his purpose. This was what he had been training for...

Special Abilities
EVERYBODY HANDS UP!
EVERYBODY HANDS UP!
► Special Traits
► Physical
Endurance to Pain: Kenpachi has known pain some will never feel in their lifetime. It is the very nature of his life and his training. From the moment he could walk to the months before his death his jounin-level father had been routinely beating him just as hard as he could without permanently crippling him. He dispatched two chuunin at the age of thirteen with the pain of a gouged eye to contend with. If you can unleash some sort of pain he has never felt before than you deserve to see him writhe for everything else (there's Mastercard) you can watch him laugh in your face.
Kenjutsu Mastery: Just like his namesake he is almost undisputed when it comes to swordplay. Some have sworn that the sword of his ancestor has imbued him with mythical skill. The sword however holds no real power. It is Kenpachi's dedication and hard work that has went into his skill, nothing more.
Strong Fist Practitioner: Kenpachi has a firm grasp of the Strong Fist style which contains techniques focused on speed and power.
Lightning God Practitioner: A form created in his home village this is the first form Kenpachi ever mastered. It uses powerful, precise strikes to control and manipulate the opponents inner body creating severe damage when usually leaving little mark on the outer skin.
Three Gates Unlocked: Kenpachi has unlocked the use of the first second and third gates of the Hachimon. The Gate of Opening, unlocked at thirteen, the Gate of Healing, opened at twenty-two, and the Gate of Life, opened at thirty.
The Gate of Opening (開門, Kaimon), located in the brain. This gate removes the restraints of the brain on the muscles so 100% of their strength can be used whereas normally, a person can only use 20% of their muscles' strength to keep them from disintegrating. Unlocking this gate allows the user to use the Front Lotus.
The Gate of Healing (休門, Kyūmon; English TV "The Gate of Rest"), located in the brain. Forcibly increases one's physical strength and temporarily re-energises the body.
The Gate of Life (生門, Seimon), located on the spinal cord. Allows the user to use the Reverse Lotus. The increased blood flow turns the skin red.
► Special
Inherent Taijutsu Skill: The people of the Tanzui Clan are the product of generations of selective breeding. Though the Clan no longer takes such pride it's genetics the intended genes are still very strong in current generations. The genes of course were for the perfect Taijutsu warriors at the behest of the Clan's original goal to create the perfect Ninja without ninjutsu.
Clan Perk: Taijutsu may start at D-Rank instead of E-Rank. However only those of direct and pure lineage may benefit from this. A Character with say a mother of a different Clan will not get this perk.
