Mental &Physical BEFORE MY EYES YOU STILL DON'T STOP! ► Appearance Height: 5’1”. Weight: 107 lbs. Hair Color: White. Eye Color: Lavender. Iku is slightly shorter than average, with a weight that’s healthy for her height – leaving her slim but not skinny, with a decent amount of muscle tone. Her eyes are a soft, pale shade of lavender, and her hair is pure white. It is very wavy and hangs down past her knees, despite how impractical that is. Most of the time she wears it braided or in a ponytail. She prefers to wear fancy outfits and dresses whenever she can. Her favorite dress is entirely white, a simple frilled one underneath and an overdress on top; there is a bow on the back that billows out at the end and laces up the front with white or black string. Most of the time, she also wears detachable sleeves that are laced up at the top. Since becoming a shinobi, however, this dress is generally reserved for special occasions; she might care about looking good, but not quite so much that it impedes her training. When she can get away with it, she wears a modified version of the short bottom dress to team meetings and missions; this dress is also pure white, hanging down to her knees, with black lacing up the front. If dresses must be avoided, Iku prefers a simple long-sleeved white shirt and black pants or a skirt. Iku keeps her headband tied around her left arm most of the time, and if she can fit it into her outfit, she’ll wear blue or white roses. Her shinobi equipment is tucked into the many folds and pockets of whatever she's wearing instead of being kept in a pouch or pack. ► Mental Assessment Iku is somewhat of a free spirit: she's creative, loves art in many forms, and tends to see things a little differently than others. She doesn't like to obey the rules and dislikes authority figures, although she does listen - grudgingly, of course - because she likes being punished even less. She considers herself an artist - not just with drawing and painting, but also writing stories, and the 'art of fashion,' putting together beautiful outfits and picking out the perfect jewelry for fancy dresses, and things like that, which earns her a fair amount of ridicule from her peers. Iku is quite the flirt. She believes in true love and all that stuff, but isn't at all interested in it yet. Mostly, she just likes to have a little fun with guys sometimes - but nothing even remotely sexual, because as a thirteen year old she finds that kind of gross. Iku is not, in all honesty, a very nice person. She's quite cold unless you know her well - but getting to know her isn't very easy. She's moody and vain and hard to deal with, almost frustratingly so at times. And she has a wicked temper - get on her bad side and you'll find yourself getting quite the beating. ► likes drawing/painting her twin (most of the time, anyway) expensive clothing the color blue roses ► dislikes losing being turned down rules small children her parents ► positives assertive decisive independent resourceful trustworthy ► negatives bossy flirtatious moody quick-tempered vain ► Background Information Iku was born exactly a week after the attack that left Amegakure in ruins, to civilian parents named Kunio and Michi. They were young parents, both eighteen at the time; he was apprenticed to a carpenter and she was a waitress at a high-end restaurant. They wanted to get married but couldn't afford it, as they could barely raise Iku and her twin on their salaries, and their parents were opposed to the union and thus refused to help out. They struggled on as best they could, but conflict arose, as it always did, and Kunio broke off the relationship to marry a rich woman that was almost twice his age. Michi was left to raise both children, and it wasn't until they were practically living on the streets that her parents stepped in and gave her some money. She accepted it only for the sake of the girls, for her relationship with her parents was incredibly strained. But through hard work and determination, Michi ended up managing and then owning the restaurant she worked at. So by the time the girls were four years old, she was entirely self-sufficient and had moved out of her parents' house into a spacious apartment. However, owning the restaurant led to her working ten to twelve hour days, sometimes more, leaving her little to no time for Iku and her sister. She had to hire genin to watch them almost every day from the time they were five until they turned seven. Of course, the girls didn't spend this time just playing and acting like normal children; they watched the genin train and spar and eventually grew to desire to become shinobi themselves. Realizing that it would cost her a lot less in both money and stress to send them to the academy, where they had competent chunin teachers, Michi signed them both up almost immediately. And so they began to attend the academy at the beginning of the next school year; Iku was a quick study when it came to the book work and written tests, while her sister excelled in the physical aspects. They ended up being more average students than anything. That first year passed quickly, as everything was new and exciting and the girls soaked up every lesson like sponges. Nothing exciting or out of the ordinary happened. The second year was quite different; the difficulty and intensity spiked, and for a while Iku had considered quitting because of it. But her sister wouldn't let her; she quite literally smacked some sense into the girl and renewed her determination. They began to spend most of their free time training, always trying to outdo the other. And the effort definitely showed results; instead of getting trounced in practice spars with their classmates, Iku began to either get draws and even win occasionally. When they weren't training, Iku was tutoring her sister to help her get better grades on the written tests, and they went from totally average to slightly above average. It was the third year that really changed them both; they were pitted against each other in almost every activity, and their rivalry grew. While they seemed to still get along well, it was in fact the exact opposite. They couldn't stand each other any longer. And everyone found this out the hard way, while they were sparring one day. Her sister stabbed her in the stomach and Iku retaliated by very nearly slitting her throat. They were forcibly separated by the teachers, who didn't want to be responsible for the deaths of students. But they pressed the issue, getting more and more violent until the instructors threatened to ban them from the sparring; that was the only option, as neither of them listened to reason. Instead of setting them against each other, they were forced to work together most of the time. Surprisingly, this worked to repair their strained relationship instead of worsen it. By the end of that year, they were an almost unstoppable team, and even the more skilled students complained about having to face them. The fourth year passed swiftly, as there was hardly anything of note. By this point, their mother was practically a stranger living in the same household as they did; they very rarely, if ever, saw her, and when they did they quickly grew frustrated with how mundane she was. Over the years they had grown distant; Michi was entirely uninterested in their shinobi training, which conversely was the only thing the girls wanted to talk about. This inability to communicate strained the relationship further. Their schooling continued at the same quick pace as always, with both girls progressing well. Despite retaining their vicious tendencies, they never again attempted to kill a fellow student in a spar, figuring that it just wasn't worth the trouble. At the end of the year, they both easily passed the graduation test and were placed onto a team together. This team did not last, however; their sensei was convicted for being a traitor to Kirigakure and killed, leaving them without a teacher only three months in. There were no other jonin ready to take on a team at that time, and so they had to study and train on their own until one was found.
