Mental &Physical EVERYONE IS A VICTIM TO THAT ATTRACTION, YEAH! ► Appearance Ronri is a staggering individual who towers over most individuals as he stands at six foot six inches. His body is lean yet toned and covered in a milk chocolate skin complexion. One of the more interesting physical features of the man, aside from his height, is his hair. Purple in color, it is twisted into dreadlocks which reach well past his shoulder. He often has it tied into a ponytail with an orange band. Golden eyes are hidden by a thin, clear visor that wraps around his head. Another note of interest is a black tattoo on his left shoulder that depicts the kanji for lightning which signifies that he is a user of the legendary Black Lightning techniques. While most shinobi would choose to wear the uniform of their given village Ronri has chosen to adorn a unique ensemble fit for a man of his position. A black hakama lays underneath a sleeveless white overcoat that usually stays buttoned on the top half to allow free movement of his legs. Black shinobi sandals cover his feet while black braces cover both of Ronri's forearms. Ronri can often be seen with his Kage hat tied to his waist as he finds it a burden to wear outside of official business. ► Mental Assessment While his stature may radiate an aura of stoic proverbs and brooding looks, Rinru is actually a happy guy. He enjoys the simpler things in life and is no stranger to having a good time. While he may not say much because people shy away from him via his height, once they break the barrier they'll find a compassionate fellow. However, this compassion rarely translates to the battlefield as death is a very real option that the man has no qualms about dishing out. His moral compass has a tendency to skew depending on who he has to interact with. For children, Rinru believes that they should retain their optimistic ignorance to a degree and at times will demonstrate a harsh reality to help acclimate them to the real world, especially if they have aspirations of becoming shinobi. For all others, there is little sugar coating when it comes to discussing personal or important matters. Maturity plays a large role in how the man will interact with others, and those who act outside of their age will receive little admiration from him. The game of politics isn't something that Ronri particularly enjoys, but given his position it is something that he has to endure. He dislikes dealing with those who use their political standings for greed and further the corruption of the current world. Though having some experience, the more advanced tricks of the trade often fly right over the man's head at times. His view on sacrifice as it relates to the welfare of the village often prove a difficult situation for Ronri. He is aware that things must be looked at in the big picture but has a propensity to think individualistically when it comes to the villagers that he has swore to protect. There is little he won't do to help a villager in need, whether it be giving advice or just a ear to listen to their problems, which of course becomes problematic when he must make decisions that greatly affect said people that develops relationships with. A constant struggle between maintaining his morality and doing what must be done has left Ronri with an existential crisis that often leaves the man lost in thought hard enough to distract him from work. ► likes

► Background Information Before the Legend During the time when war was an ever present demon every person had to face in some form or fashion there was only one constant: power, and those who obtained it had a higher chance of survival. A certain family in Kaminari no Kuni gathered said power over a period of decades and came to have much influence in political matters, though shying away from shinobi matters. Their influence affected trade, work, and the sustainability of the country as a whole, and in due time came to include certain matters in a ninja village. While they would have liked to gain greater foothold in that village they knew it would only be a matter of time until one of their own took the reigns. Thus begins the tale of a certain man. Bred for Glorious Purpose With the war still over a decade from ending there was more the family could do except welcome a new addition to their ranks. It had been decided well before that he would become the link between the family and a certain village and bring them to ultimate power. He and his parents moved to Kumo soon after the birth to establish themselves in the village. Ronri's early life consisted of nothing spectacular. His parents had taken up careers as merchants and cared for their boy like any normal parents would. It was during this time, however, that the boy met one Gunma Hittou. Though a couple years his senior the two would quickly develop a friendship that soon turned rivalry as they attempted to best each other at every possible action. The age of six proved a turning point for Ronri's life as his family had decided for him that he would enroll in the village academy to learn the ninja arts. While he had no true desire to do this there was no choice in the matter; this path had been chosen for him well before the boy was born. He found early success in his training and would use every opportunity to show off his newly acquired skills to Hittou. The boy had awaken a drive within himself to accomplish great things and knew that the shinobi arts would be able to lead him down this path. There was little Ronri did that set him apart from the others in his class, aside from his freakish height, and the next years, while formative, held little in terms of noteworthy accomplishments. He would graduate at the age of thirteen like most others did and immediately put on a team. With the war in it's waning stages the majority of his teams missions were either recovery or information gathering. The village would not risk its next generation in the throes of battle. Various rumors throughout the village spoke of a treaty that was in the works to be signed by all of the villages, but various snags were holding it up. Ronri wondered why Kumo did not simply crush the others and forcibly take the power for themselves? It would have made things a lot simpler than fumbling over political nonsense. Nonetheless, there was nothing he could do about it at this point except make sure that he had done his part for his village. That ambitious drive had taken another leap. Meanwhile in the shadows, his family was hard at work putting their influence to good use. They were making sure that their pride and joy were assigned missions of prominence yet nothing that would possibly get him killed. Of course attempting to balance that line was a difficult task, but decades of influence in the country had its perks. Ronri never suspected his family of any shady doings as he never really knew what they did as a whole, aside from his parents. The best he could describe his relatives as were nobles. In fact they were all of nobility, having risen to that position not by heritage but my making the right moves at the right times over many years. The End of One War, The Beginning of Another Two years would pass and in that time the Great War had ended with the signing of the treaty that so many had whispered about years previous. Now came the time when all villages tallied their dead, scavenged whatever they could and begin to rebuild their shattered lands. Ronri and his team had been promoted to Chunin shortly after the war had ended. A bit too late to enter the fray but during a time when whichever village could recover the quickest had the greatest chance of obtaining more power. By this time his rival had just graduated the academy though he was still a capable shinobi. Whenever the two had free time they would spar, Ronri's skills besting that of the other boy but only by so much. It was amazing what ambition and will power could produce in an underdog. With his rank increased so did the importance of his missions, and they quickly turned from gathering supplies to weeding out remnants of other villages. Skirmishes would take place here and there but nothing too severe. Tensions were still high amongst all of the villages, but none were too stupid to do something that would incite another war. No, most were still attempting to adapt to life outside of battle which was easier said than done for some. Ronri himself didn't mind fighting, if it was done correctly. He believed that if one were going into battle that they should be well versed in the art of war and be willing to do any-and-everything to achieve victory. Some would think that immoral, but wasn't war itself already an immoral act? Perhaps if Kumo had instilled that mindset the outcome would have been different. Along with the missions came an increase in training. The team had decided to stick together as they had decent a decent relationship with each other and worked well together. Ronri was adept at all but Genjutsu, and took a special liking to Ninjutsu, a fact that had not gone unnoticed by his sensei. Once again his family had begun moving behind the shadows. They were making sure that his name was circulating through the mouths of the village elite which correlated to Ronri being assigned more high profile missions. Again the boy thought little of it. His skills had improved leaps and bounds over the last couple of years so it was only natural for the highly skilled to be placed on such missions. They ranged from escorts to post-war activities. Most of the time nothing spectacular but when things of note did occur they required an above average mind to handle, and this mind belonged to Ronri. His deduction skills were higher than most Chunin and his drive allowed him to outwit the enemy. Of course being overly ambitious had its drawbacks, and it was something that he needed to work on or else a young death was sure to follow. A similar routine would follow for the next five years or so. The endless missions, the continued training, and an ambitious young man developing ideas that would help bring Kumo the apex of power. One Step Closer Those five years of hard work and dedication landed Ronri a promotion to the rank of Jounin, this time without the family influence; though rest assured they were hard at work moving the proverbial cogs in the background. Now that he had a more profound voice in the village Ronri used every opportunity to spread his visage of how Kumo could improve their standing and become a powerhouse even amongst the five Great Nations. Some saw them as simple pipe dreams and only concerned themselves with the here and now. Ronri knew that an attitude like that would get the village no where. It had not even been ten years since the wars end which left ample opportunity for the acquisition of power. He knew, however, that putting these ideas into motion would require more than a voice, results would also be necessary. The man chose not to take on a Genin team and instead opted to work closely with those on the upper echelon of village life. That, coupled along with completing high ranking missions left him in great standing with those that had the true power of the village. Granted, his family had already spread their influence on said people years before Ronri had reached this point in their life. After all, it was their plan all along to have Ronri reach the highest political point in the village so that their true influence could be felt throughout both country and village. It was one of the few reasons the upper crust were so receptive to his words. They were perfectly good ideas in their own right, but coming from anyone except Ronri they would have surely fallen to the way side. During his training Ronri had come across a special technique only known to a select few in the entire history of Kumogakure. It was the Black Lightning technique and it held great power. With his prowess in Ninjutsu already well noted, and a working specialty on Raiton techniques coming along quite nicely, it only seemed right that the Jounin be gifted with such an ability. He soon obtained a tattoo to signify that he was a user of the Black Lightning, a technique that was revered even within the borders of the village. It was a feat that only came about once a generation and now Ronri had been entrusted to wield its immense power. His time at the side of powerful officials proved extremely beneficial for his knowledge of politics and what all they entailed. He didn't care for them as they contained more shady practices than one should be allowed to do, but none the less he had become well versed. Needless to say Ronri was on the fast track to a great position in the village, whatever that would be. Meanwhile, his family was putting the finishing touches on assuring that one of their own would soon hold prominence within Kumo. Their influence on trade proved too great for the village to ignore, even when it came to dealing with something such as this. However, Ronri was an excellent shinobi in his own right and had ample opportunity to obtain the position on his own merit, but his family did want to take that chance. Crown the Emperor Twenty-six was the age at which Ronri had been appointed Raikage. His excellent prowess as a shinobi added to his knowledge of the political system and his ambitious nature were all outstanding qualities for the leader of a village. While some thought that the man was too ambitious in such a delicate time and would cause more harm than good the decision had already been made. After all, this was the perfect time for a village to up its standing in the world, and that could not be achieved sitting idly to the side. No, it was time for a leader who was not afraid to push the boundaries to get results. That was the only way Kumo would be able to return to prominence, and Ronri was determined to do everything in his power to achieve that goal; and such began the era of the Darkest Night.
