General Information TODAY'S THE BEST TIME TO GET UP! ► Nicknames Chikai Shinkan - Short Fuse ► Gender Male ► Age 26 ► Home Village Iwagakure no Sato ► Innate Affinity Bakuton - Explosion Release ► Elemental Manipulation Bakuton, Doton ► Military Rank Jonin ► Shinobi Position Squad Leader ► Individual Rank B-Rank Mental &Physical BEFORE MY EYES YOU STILL DON'T STOP! ► Appearance Taichi is, to say the least, a physical specimen. He boasts muscles upon muscles and is probably one of the most fit shinobi in the village. Every part of his body that contains muscles has been trained to their utmost point. He sees the world through light green eyes and sports spiky, yellow hair that defies every law of physics and shoots straight up into the air. Considering that his eyebrows are, too, green it isn't a stretch to say that the carpet does indeed match the drapes. One would think that a specimen of this caliber would be contained in a frame towering well over six feet; unfortunately this is not the case. Taichi stands at barely five and a half feet and as such is often looking up to those he seniors in age. Taichi adorns the traditional Iwagakure shinobi gear that consists of crimson pants, a matching shirt with the sleeves removed covered by a brown flack jacket, and black shinobi sandals. He has his the metal part of his forehead protector sewn into the right side of his jacket. ► Mental Assessment What makes a man like Taichi tick? Is it his experience with others, or love of training? While those play a role in making the man the biggest factor is his Napoleon Complex. Given his short stature it's no surprise that his entire life Taichi had been bullied because of his height, or lack thereof in this case. This caused him to lash out and overcompensate in everything he did (i.e. training until his muscles were a permanent bulge). He is quick to catch an attitude at even the slightest mention of his height and has no problem yelling to get his point across. If one manages not to somehow piss Taichi off they will find a man who cares deeply for his for his village, though not necessarily for the people who reside in it. He aligns himself only with those he deems capable shinobi and has little time for the weak minded. He enjoys the thrill of the fight as it brings out the true instincts of a person though is not quick to jump into one. ► Background Information Birth - Childhood Masaru Taichi's trials began the moment he first took a breath in this world. He was a tiny baby and not expected to survive past the first few months, but by some miracle he beat those odds; unfortunately that would only be the beginning. His growth was severely stunted compared to others his age leaving him shorter than just about everybody except new born infants and in the direct line of fire for ridicule from others. Day in and day out the insults about his size came from all directions which proved to be the foundation for the Napoleon Complex that was sure to develop. Taichi would soon develop a nasty temper and pick fights with anyone who even looked like they had the capacity to make fun of his height. Any attempt from his parents to quell the rage that had built up within their sun was ineffective and they desperately searched for ways to aid their perpetually enraged child. Academy Years Being civilians, Taichi's parents knew little of the shinobi world but were aware that they controlled extraordinary power and contemplated if enrolling their son would provide a suitable outlet for his anger, or in the best case scenario teach him how to channel it for something useful. Initially, Taichi was not too receptive to the idea as he saw it as just another opportunity for people to make fun of him, but the prospect of being able to defend himself with ninja techniques proved too valuable and he ultimately agreed to enroll. As he had predicted, a majority of his classmates often made fun of his height though they were quick to quiet down after Taichi had shown that he was willing to fight to defend his pride. During his time at the academy Taichi took a particular liking to the art of taijutsu as it reminded him of all the fights he had been in and the feeling of landing a top notch kick or punch was too thrilling. He was in no way inept at ninjutsu or genjutsu but had decided then that if he were to ever become a full fledged shinobi that taijutsu would be his path. His academy years did prove a successful outlet for his anger in the sense that he could now formally beat people up instead of wildly kicking and screaming. Genin - Chunin Years At the age of thirteen Taichi graduated from the academy and became an official shinobi of Iwagakure. His parents were delighted to see that their son was no longer the temperamental child that they had come to known, or so they thought. In reality, Tiachi had developed quite the Napoleon Complex and was quick to catch an attitude. However, he would not as easily jump into fights but instead would use the tactic of intimidation to make others back down. In due time he would be assigned to a team and began down the path of mundane missions and training. His teammates were unusually tall for their age and were sure to point it out every chance they had. This led to many an argument and a couple tussles but nothing serious. Taichi actually enjoyed the team he was assigned to as they all seemed capable shinobi and enjoyed displaying their skills to the other Genin. While he found the missions boring and simplistic the training would prove extremely useful and further his skills in taijutsu. Then came time for the Chunin exams, and while Taichi and his squad mates felt that they were ready for the challenge, their sensei did not and held them out. Needless to say they were less than pleased and used this motivation to further their skills so that there would be no doubt if they were ready the next time the exams rolled around. The next year would held no interesting advances until it was once again time for the Chunin exams. This time around the squad would not take no for an answer and were able to persuade their sensei to let them partake. The exams proved rather difficult, even having been left out to train an extra year, and a series of rash decisions led to the failure of the entire trio. At this point their collective psyche was shaken and they wondered if there was even a point to taking the exam again. Fortunately, wise lessons from their sensei would help bring their spirits back to fighting form by the time the next Chunin exams rolled around. During these exams the team performed much better though it was still in no way an easy task. At the end of these trials all three were promoted to the rank of Chunin which opened the door for multiple opportunities in their shinobi careers. His teammates, on the other hand decided to specialize in other shinobi arts and from that moment the team had split. Taichi would continue to train under the tutelage of his sensei and the two were often paired together for missions. Even as a Chunin the shots at his height failed to subside which brought about quite the reputation that spread throughout the reputation. While he would not physically lash out at anyone who made fun at his vertically challenged self, the verbal repercussions were something to be seen. For the next few years this would be the norm for Taichi as he continued to both train and be sent out on missions. On one particular mission that both he and his sensei had been assigned they were tasked with gathering information on another of the five great nations when they were spotted by an interception squad. The fight that ensued proved too great for Taichi and only by the sacrifice of his sensei was the Chunin able to survive. He hated having to run from an enemy, and even more so for having to leave someone behind which led to a spiraling anger that jeopardized his shinobi career. He had lost the one person who was able to help him channel his anger for a good use and was unsure of what to do anymore. He found the answer to be training, and a lot of it. Taichi dedicated himself to every facet of general working out and enhancing his skill in taijutsu, and in time his physique would begin to reflect those efforts. Any missions that he was assigned to returned with flying marks and a skill not often seen from just a Chunin. Jounin - Present Day At the age of twenty-three, after many years of training, missions, and outstanding conduct in favor of the village it was recommended that Taichi be promoted to the rank of Jounin. He accepted the promotion on the condition that he would be able to lead his own team. Needless to say this was met with heavy criticism as his reputation for lashing out had reached the upper brass. Taichi's persuasion skills weren't the best in the world and he did what he could to present a semi-decent argument, and after careful deliberation it was decided that he would receive a team, though not immediately. Taichi could live with that middle ground and began his life as a Jounin. His missions had become exponentially difficult even with a full party, and the level of paperwork somehow also increased to which the man did not enjoy one bit. Speeding up to present day, Taichi continues to partake on missions and a rigorous training schedule all the while awaiting the day he finally gets assigned a team, though he is beginning to think that the higher-ups used that excuse to buy themselves time in hopes that Taichi would forget about his request of leading a team.
