Birthday: October 31
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Village: Kusagakure no Sato
Status: Head Hanchou
Rank: Jounin
Innate Affinity: Raiton
Elemental Affinities: Raiton and Katon
Personal Rank: A-RANK
Appearance Height: 6'1" Weight: 135 lbs Hair Color: Dark Red, Maroon Eye Color: Crimson Haru's physical structure is pretty much like that of a stick. The boy can eat all he wants, but he never seems to gain any fat on his body. The boy can work out all he wants and also never seems to gain any muscle mass. As such he is very slender and very flexible. He is able to buy clothes in the smallest six for people his age and wear them proudly without worry. He can fit into tight spaces without worry of getting stuck. Haru is overall just what people would call, a stick.
Haru's hair is a different story though. Compared to the boy's more tame body, his hair is rather wild. Its lengthy structure sticks up in all sorts of directions and even has the audacity to eternally cover the boy's right eye. His hair also bunches together at the sides of his head to form what many may mistake for cat ears. Haru doesn't know why, but his hair seems to always have a mind of its own and cannot seem to ever be tamed.
For clothing Haru likes to don a sort of vest specially made to match with his gauntlets. He wears a black vest that has two tails that trail down to about knee length in the back and have some sort of buckle loops on them. The sides of his shirt, where the seam would normally be, seems to be stitched together in x shaped patterns with some sort of white thread. For pants, Haru wears matching black trousers that also have the x shaped white stitches. These end at about lower shin/calf bearing slightly the mesh armor beneath. Haru wears close toed/heeled shinobi edition sandals. Around his neck, Haru wears a large black scarf that seems to be four times his height thus wraps around his shoulders three times and still manages to reach the floor, at the ends of the scarf are two large bells.

History On October 31, 543 ARS a small wailing infant was born to two happy parents during a time a war. Needless to say, the young boy, named Haru, was born into a small family in a just as equally small village. The village, plagued by the war effort, wasn't the easiest place to live in during Haru's childhood. With his father being a shinobi, he ended up being called to the war effort in Haru's fourth year. Haru never again saw his father after his departure and during the small boy's fifth year when chuunin arrived at the door step of his family home where he lived with his mother, grandfather, and four house cats, he learned why. His father's squad had been ambushed and annihilated by the enemy. Haru too young to understand the concept of death, simply continued living on his live like the joy filled little kid he was.
By the time Haru turned six, at the encouragement of his grandfather, his mother entered the boy into the academy. At first, Haru seemed to have a bit of difficulty in the academy, but it was mainly due to one reason, the boy still hadn't said his first words. As such, all of the other kids often made fun of him calling him harsh things such as an idiot or moron, or even retard. This often served only to hurt to poor boy's self esteem and caused him to run home crying even in the middle of class. However, he continued going back to class at his mother's encouragement and promise to give him something special if he was able to over come his fear. Haru mutely agreed and started going back to class. He even started to work hard on his lessons, and began to show such improvement that he amazed his teachers. The kid was a genius.
Haru's first year at the academy came and went by in a near flash, and on the last day of school all of the students were put in 1v1 sparring matches. Haru was matched against the very same kid that had heckled him earlier in the year."Let's have a fair fight, um...." Crap, no, he couldn't have actually forgotten his own classmate's name, could he have? Not only this, but the kid was a fucking mute, it wasn't like he could just tell him. So as he mulled over the possibilities of the boy's name as not even their supervisor actually remembered at the moment a small, some what high pitched, voice that he had never heard before spoke up.
"Haru.... Tsukioni Haru." The blonde haired kid looked at the red head with amazement. Did he actually just talk, FOR THE FIRST TIME!? Looking around he wasn't the only one shocked, even the boy's mother, whom had come to pick him up, was surprised. So the boy was just a late bloomer.
Ever since his first words, Haru seemed to be oh so much more attentive to what went on around him. While he still rarely ever talked unless called on in class he seemed to excel much faster than the other students around him. So much that he ended up being placed in an advanced class for his third year of school. Only this is where everything started to go down hill for the boy. He was able to grasp concepts and physical work such as taijutsu and shurikenjutsu well enough, but he appeared to have strong struggles with performing any sort of ninjutsu. He would even stay behind class for extra lessons, however nothing seemed to help the boy improve and while he could perform the jutsu, he could not do it without a strong degree if difficulty. Eventually the reason for this was discovered.
The boy had little chakra for him to use. It turned out that his metabolism burned up an calories that he ate simply too fast for his body to make it into chakra for him to use. As such he was like the running motor that constantly needed more and more fuel to keep him going. At the discovery of this it was recommended that Haru eat more than he currently was already allowed to at home, however there was an issue with this, his mother couldn't afford this new plan for her son. So in the end, the boy's teachers began to take it upon themselves to help the child. They had grown fond of him and wanted to see him succeed, as such they wanted to see if this little metabolism problem could perhaps simply be fixed by the boy eating more often.
Well they quickly discovered Haru had a ravenous appetite, as was to be expected with his extremely high metabolism. So the boy was more than happy to eat until he was content, however he also knew he couldn't. He was often being treated by his sensai and thus, by pure courtesy taught by his mother, he knew he couldn't simply eat everything in sight. So he kept himself under control. Nonetheless, progress soon began to show in the class room. Haru had a bit more chakra for him to spend now, so he was able to perform the basic techniques much more easily than he could have before. Thus by the end of his eleventh year, while most graduated at the age of twelve, he graduated at the age of eleven.
As a genin, Haru quickly discovered that he still had a lack of skill for ninjutsu. As such he and his teacher began to focus more and more on honing the boy's taijutsu and even bukijutsu skills. At this point Haru had also donned what became known as the Claws of the Cat Monster, which was the gift his mother had been saving up for to get him. She gave him this gift because she knew how much Haru loved cats, and the gauntlets somewhat resembled the fore paws of a cat, not only that but she knew the boy didn't have much skill for ninjutsu, thus this would allow him to fight close range with a bit more destructive and protective force. Because of these claws and Haru's blossoming skill in Taijutsu, the kid soon became known as the Bakeneko by his teammates, more as a joke than anything.
In Haru's thirteenth year his sensai was called out to war. Not with his team since everyone was still genin, but with a group of jounin and chuunin. Once again, Haru never saw the man again, learning later that the man had made himself into a martyr on the battlefield in order to save the lives of his comrades. At this point Haru's genin team went separate ways. While the other two went off doing as many missions as they possibly could to help the village, Haru went on to seek out a new teacher, someone that could perhaps teach him something different. This eventually brought him to his grandfather.
His grandfather was already well into his sixties, but he had a fiery spirit so strong that it would put most jounin to shame. Not only that, but he had once been a powerful fighter back in his day and may have at once been deemed as shinobi if only he was part of a village as a child. His grandfather had all of the wisdom of some of the villages wisest shinobi and then some. He even had more gusto in his step than several of the village's shinobi. Thus when his grandson came to him for help he was more than happy to give it. However, the boy would quickly discover, it would not be the help he was expecting.
Haru's grandfather, Hatoku, knew well that the boy was lacking when it came to skill in ninjutsu. As such he decided he would focus on honing Haru's ninjutsu skill and teaching him better how to maximize what chakra the boy did posses. It took the boy a long time, a year in fact, to grasp any of the concepts his grandfather was teaching him, but by the time he finally did he would at last learn how to manipulate his innate nature, Raiton, and by that point the war would also be over.
As the war ended, Hatoku began to push for Haru's attendance in the next chuunin exams believing that his little man was at last ready for the test, and with much persistence on his grandfather's part, Haru was allowed to attend. So with a team compiled specifically for the event, Haru set off to become a chuunin. The first two tests were rather simple for Haru. His sensitive hearing easily allowed him to gather intel from other candidates, and his survival skills he had been working on nearly all his life. However the true challenge came for him in the third test when Haru had to face off against other finalists.
Sure Haru's taijutsu skill was phenomenal, but all of the candidates possessed other skills over him. Some were able to shoot fire balls, and manipulate the shadows, and it caused Haru to become rather stressed out. He simply didn't know how to deal with that kind of stuff. However, thank fully, Haru's match was the last one of the first round, as such he was able to watch and observe as other genin fought, and in the end, develop a strategy. By the time Haru's match came up he had made his decision: he had to win."The match between Tsukioni Haru of the Hidden Grass and Hoshigaki Kisune of the Hidden Mist will now be under way!"
The girl looked him over with her beady little shark eyes. A grin grew across her features revealing her serrated teeth. She knew she had this fight in the bag. Judging by the boy's appearance he was a close range fighter. Perfect for her, she could fight at all ranges with her jutsu supply, not to mention her enormous chakra pool.
"Haru hopes you came prepared." The smile on Kisune's face faded, "Eh? Prepared?" Haru nodded his head, "Yes, you will lose here. Haru must not fail." With that the proctor called the match's beginning and Haru seemingly vanished. The girl looking around rapidly in all directions, could not for the life of her find the boy. It wasn't possible that he was actually THAT fast was it!? Well he was and a swift, yet powerful, upper cut to her unsuspecting jaw ended the match then and there. Haru knew he couldn't lose, and knew his speed and strength would be key to that. Just about everyone was stunned by the boy, whom when he had arrived appeared so nervous, actually had that kind of speed and strength. Already they knew that he could become a great and powerful shinobi, but first they needed to see more. So as the tournament went on, Haru showed more of his abilities as his adversaries became aware of his skill and began to compensate for it. Then, by the final round, it was at last just Haru versus one other boy, his old teammate. "Kurobara Kuroku versus Tsukioni Haru, contestants please stand at ready!"
The blonde haired boy, Kuroku, got down into a ready stand with his obsidian gaze trained on the red headed Haru. He showed no emotion, no remorse, no nothing. He seemed to be so calm and collected that nothing got to him any more. It was almost scary. Haru, however, did not back down. Instead he got into his own, nearly heartless, ready stance by spreading his legs apart about shoulder width and letting his arms hang before him with his claws grazing the ground. Everyone here, at this point, knew that both genin were absolutely serious, and that this match could be extremely interesting.
At the time the match was called, both genin were already off, vanishing with incredible speeds and waging attacks that were so powerful at points that the very ground beneath them would shake if only for a moment. However, Kuroku knew Haru's weakness and he wasn't about to go without using it. As such about five minutes into the match, he started to make a large gap of distance between himself and Haru where he would then start using long range from on top of the wall near the spectator stands. Haru, of course, was easily able to dodge these attempts, but they prevented him from getting close to Kuroku. That was until he developed an idea.
He knew how to walk on walls, his grandfather had taught him, so this technique should be easy enough to pull off if Haru didn't fail. So Haru managed to attach himself to the wall, and in the flury of one of Kuroku's attacks, he created an illusionary clone of himself and then used his incredible speed to get on top of the spectator stands' roof. While Kuroku was busy attacking the clone, only to be surprised to find it be an illusion, Haru was charging an attack. By the time Haru heard the distinct cackle of lightning, it was soo late. He turned just in time to see Haru drop from the sky and plow a lighting ball into the boy's stomach with such force it knocked him down to the ground and caused Kuroku to become stuck in the ground at the waist.
Unable to continue the fight with Kuroku knocked out cold, Haru won. It was needless to say everyone was surprised when they saw the boy finally use ninjutsu. Even most of the jounin and chuunin from the boy's own village didn't know he could use nature manipulation already, not only that but to be able to know just when to use it like he did. It was phenomenal. As such, Haru, and three other genin with exceptional skills including Kuroku ascended from being genin to becoming chuunin that year. Haru was fourteen.
As a chuunin Haru began to depart on more and more risky missions, ranging from C-rank to even A-rank. He even took all of them with such gusto that he continued to surprise many of his fellow chuunin and even some jounin. Haru's nickname soon lived up to gain a decent reputation and eventually people outside of the village even began to take note of the kid by the time he became sixteen. Then in Haru's sixteenth year something amazing happened. A saber toothed cat appeared in Kusagakure.
At first no one knew what to do about the cat. It looked so intimidating, almost like it would tear you apart for even staring at it, but it didn't seem to be doing any harm other than just looking intimidating. With his golden gaze the cat looked around the village as if searching for someone or something, and eventually it then began to speak. Yes, speak. Where is the one that dares call himself a cat monster? It would bellow. At first the villagers were too shocked to do much of anything, but eventually they began to look at one another. No one knew where Haru had gone. He had disappeared as he was known to do every now and then, and no one had seen him for about a week. However just as soon as the cat was becoming impatient, he appeared. Not only did he appear, he was crazy enough to run over to the cat that was as big as a three story building, and hug its fore paw. Yup he was cat crazy alright.
Many of the villagers thought the cat would absolutely tear the boy apart, but no he didn't. Instead the large behemoth actually broke out laughing at the boy's daring attitude, and then suddenly, vanished with the boy in tow. When Haru's sight returned to him after a moment of losing it, he was stunned by what he saw."I can see you are called Bakeneko for a good reason," his thunderous voice boomed as Haru released himself from around his large black paw. Looking all around himself Haru saw nothing but what he would call paradise. There were mountains everywhere wrought with paths easily climbable for a cat, maybe not so much for a human. There were areas high enough that lightning would strike it. Area's green enough to be called forest, and areas wet enough because well.... waterfall. "Welcome Bakeneko, to Shimayama." Haru looked up to the large beast, "Haru's name is Haru, not Bakeneko." At this the large beast laughed again, "And my name is Raimei." Haru nodded as finally he noticed the golden designs ripple across the beast's fur. "Might Haru ask, why have you brought Haru here?"
The beast nudged Haru with his muzzle before speaking, "We are looking for a new partner, and rumors about you, whom has strong affinity for our kind, reached us." After meeting Raimei, Haru was introduced to many of the other cats of Shimayama. All of them being saber cats as well with huge fangs except for the ones that looked like just normal giant cats, except Haru soon learned that those were just babes that had yet grown fangs. All in all, Haru was quite well accepted, even by the elder of all of the cats, and as such, allowed to sign the contract and taught the technique to use it. However, before they allowed Haru to return home, after which he had already been gone a year, they wanted Haru to experience something, grand. One of their females was in child birth, and when the children were born they wanted Haru to be present. While Haru was at first very hesitant with being present during the birth, he soon had to cope with the idea and agreed for sake of maintaining good relation with the cats.
By the time Haru arrived though, the newborns had already been born. There were only two of them, which was rare in the sense of cats and litters, but still they were precious. Already Haru could see they looked like complete opposites and one had a crescent moon on his forehead while the other had a sun on her's. Haru, soon falling in love with them, was allowed to have the two cats imprint on him and even give them their names. He chose names that he thought fit well, Gento-koji and Kinu-koji. He spent about another month with the cats, more specifically the twins, before he had to leave to go back to Kusagakure. By the time he returned to Kusagakure he was eighteen, having spent two birthdays at Shimayama.
During Haru's time that he had spent on Shimayama, not only had he been taught the summoning technique, but he had discovered his secondary affinity, which happened to be for the fire nature. Now that he knew this information Haru once again went to his grandfather to seek assistance, however Hatoku was unable to provide it having passed away during Haru's absence. At long last it struck Haru just what death meant. Stricken with grief at the loss, Haru devoted himself to making himself ever stronger in every way he possibly could. As such he researched ways to manipulate Raiton and Katon, and over the period of the next year managed to finally be able to utilize two more ninjutsu, one raiton, one katon.
By the time Haru turned nineteen he had risen beyond the expectations of many of his peers and superiors. He had participated and performed well in high ranking missions. He now even had a summoning contract. He seemed to be well ready, and thus, he was invited to take an exam to become a jounin about half way through his nineteenth year. The exam was long and arduous, and there were points where Haru swore he failed, however by the time he returned home to his mother at the end of it all, it was not in defeat, but rather with a broad toothy smile across his face. He had somehow managed to pass.
So began Haru's journey as a jounin. While he was now technically able to lead genin students, his higher ups still thought him a bit young for that task, thus he was put on a task force with other jounin to start tackling more higher ranked missions, most of his missions now be B and A rank with the ever so rare S rank. Haru continued to perform well through all of his missions despite now attaining more wounds than ever before from the increased risk. However over time, Haru began to improve even more. His speed increased and so did his strength, and he became recognized as a master in taijutsu. This compared with the destructive prowess of his summons seemingly made the young shinobi unstoppable.
Then came the event that decided it all. At the age of twenty-four, Haru was on an A-rank mission with three other jounin. The four of them were doing wondrous work together and hadn't suffered a single causality. That was until he appeared. An S-ranked nukenin. Haru's team began accumulating wounds left and right. They quickly became battered and bruised and just at the moment when it seemed all would be for naught, Haru finally stepped up and took charge. Haru began to coordinate with his teammates and eventually they started using combination attacks that managed to throw the nukenin off guard.
By night fall Haru's team had managed to survive and push back the nukenin, however, the nukenin got away. Upon returning to the village and reporting on the mission, which had, all in all, succeeded despite the feeling of loss, Haru's squad mates stayed behind after Haru left. Haru didn't know it at the time, but his squad mates stayed behind to inform the Daimyo, Kasumi Genda by this point, of Haru's actions. In the end the decision was quite clear and Haru was summoned the next day with the verdict.
"Congratulations, Jounin Hanchou."
So Haru was pretty much promoted to being Kasumi's second in command. Which was all great and dandy, only now he had to walk on egg shells in order to avoid the woman's lusty tendencies. Still, Haru continued to do what he usually did even as Jounin Hanchou. Which was train to get stronger, take on high ranking missions, and play with his house cats.
