notes: 369/2500 Inori was kicked back on a bench in the park, just close enough to the swing set that she could hear the little kids whining and crying and screaming. Now, normally, she didn't mind children too much - she had kind of gotten used to their antics when babysitting, either for other Clan members or for D-Rank missions, and while she didn't like how noisy and messy and generally sticky they were, she could at least tolerate them - but right now, man, they were kind of grating on her nerves. Not enough that she wanted to go yell at them and tell them to shut up - something she had done on a previous occasion, and gotten verbally thrashed for afterwards - but enough that she was considering vacating the bench and wandering around.
But she'd told Shikaya to meet her here, at this particular spot, and it would be rude of her to just leave when she didn't know how soon the Nara was going to show up. It definitely wouldn't start this friendship out on the right foot. And Inori really, really did want to become real friends with both her teammates, instead of just relying on the fact that their families knew each other and, historically, worked together quite well even without any instruction on teamwork. Real, actual bonds with people meant so much more to the blonde than bonds manufactured out of necessity and nothing more.
Well, the Nara girl had better arrive soon, or Inori thought she might end up strangling some children. Bleh, annoyed was the worst mood for trying to spark a friendship. Shikaya probably wouldn't even want to be the grumpy Yamanaka's friend if her mood didn't get any better. Sighing, the genin stretched out on the bench, sunning herself like a cat. The weather was hot, and so she'd gone even more informal in her dress, wearing just a white tank top with thin straps and short gray shorts. Heh, if she had to wait long enough for her teammate's arrival, perhaps she would end up getting a little bit of a tan.
Of course, as soon as that thought crossed her mind, the girl would arrive, wouldn't she? |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true]it's the purest element and it's so volatile The young Nara didn`t really "hang" out with anyone, she prefer to be on her own but when her teammate had asked to get to know her a little better she had no choice but to really give her a chance. Their clans had been close for many generations and family friends ran through the clans. She was basically going to get no choice but to be friends and see if they could get along. She wasn`t sure if their male team mate would be around for the meeting but she never put it past him to just show up and interrupt any plans, it was kinda an expected. As upsetting as it should have been for any other child Aya found it normal, one teammate always ruining the fun for selfish reasons. What else could true teams ask for?
Neither of her teammates where the same age as her. One was a year older and the other a year younger. Crazy how that happened but it had. She recalled the area that the young girl had asked her to meet up at and she wanted to tuck tail and run the closer she came. It wasn`t for the fear of spending time with another person it was because she knew the amount of children that hung out there. As she moved closer inch by inch she could hear the children voices ringing out among the land, lovely. Upon her arrival she noticed a blonde girl stretching out along a wooden bench. Odd how she was acting like a cat and not a human. She watched for a second raising a brow curiously wondering if she was getting ready for sparing or if she`d taken to long.
She could hear the kids and knew that the girl sitting here this long would have been highly stressful so without hesitation she moved closer. She was wearing a pair of black shorts with a skin tight black tshirt and a red vest undone. She had her dark black hair in a pig tail and her charcoal eyes locked onto the female. "Inori I presume?" She raised a dark brow and looked at her expressionless to hide the growing frustration of the children in the background.

notes: 699/2500 Ah, sunshine. Basking in the warm rays, Inori felt a little of her irritation bleed away. Sunny days always made her happy; there was just something about everything being all bright and cheerful and the sky being a bold, clear blue that just made everything better. She grinned up at the heavens, closing her eyes and just enjoying the sunlight.
Of course, her blissful reverie was interrupted - she opened her eyes and peered up at the dark-haired girl that stood in front of her. At first, it didn't exactly click - the words didn't register in her hazy mind and she thought that the girl was a little kid come from the swing set for the sole purpose of annoying her. She was about to grumble at the kid to go away, but then something clicked. This kid? This short, adorable little kid? This was her teammate, Shikaya, who definitely looked way younger than she actually was. "Oh, yeah, that's me. It's nice to finally meet you, Shikaya-chan."
Inori nearly let out a girly squeal and hugged the Nara - it was just not fair that she was so freaking adorable. Like a little kid, only less immediately aggravating. After a moment she realized that she had kind of been staring, and tried - and failed, for that matter - to cover it up by stretching. "Well, now that we've met up... want to ditch this kid-infested park and find somewhere that's got less people? Or maybe we could go get a bite to eat or something?" she suggested.
To be honest, the blonde hadn't thought much past initially meeting Shikaya. Despite what one might think, she wasn't exactly Miss Popularity in the academy just because she was a pretty Yamanaka girl - even though that was what they tended to be, thus leading to the rather irritating stereotype. Inori didn't really have friends, and didn't even really know what to do now that the younger Nara was here. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true]it's the purest element and it's so volatile Inori was a character Aya couldn`t deny that. She was extremely pretty with her long blonde hair, red eyes and hour glass figure. Aya felt slightly inferior to the female, the girl was only a year older than her and she was already attractive how could the Nara ever compete against the girl. She flinched slightly at the girl calling her Shikaya, "Please, call me Aya. Its a bit complicated." Being a Nara was pretty easy but Shikaya wanted to be own person and sure her father had given her the name beginning with Shika but she was going to do everything in her power to keep an independent name.
Her words where cut short when a squealing sound escaped the girls lips and her arms where around her. A soft flush of embarrassment covered the Nara`s cheeks, she wasn`t use to affection from either gender. When the girls arms released her she quickly hid the blush from her skin looking at her with an unemotional expression. She was good at hiding her feelings and thoughts, it was a little nerve wrecking for the girl to be with another and the affection she had received earlier was taking a toll as well. The girls next words took her mind off of the events and she nodded in agreement not wanting to speak to much, she knew her words often made people uncomfortable.
"We can go out and get some food if you`d like", she looked around at the people in the background. Curiously enough the events of the meeting had drowned out somewhere among the girls little get together. There had been a time when Aya would have drowned everyone out, and now here with this girl she was feeling a bit strange, she`d never been able to get along with other girls for the pure fact that she well so "Childlike" in appearance it frustrated her to no end to see how others would blossom while she was stuck looking like a ten year old.

notes: 1003/2500 Inori noticed the girl's slight flinch when she spoke her name, and though she was a little curious as to why, the Yamanaka figured that 'it's complicated' was going to be the best explanation she could get out of the Nara. "Oh, okay, Aya-chan." Inori didn't really have any nicknames - any that were shortenings of her name, anyway, because if you called someone Ino-chan in the Yamanaka compound, you were going to get a dozen or so people responding to whatever you said. It was a little annoying, the family tradition of names beginning with Ino... Perhaps Shikaya felt the same way about the Nara tradition. At least she had a name that could shorten to something unrelated to said naming tradition.
The blonde also noticed the slush blush that crossed the girl's cheeks while she was being hugged, which slightly amused her. "Ehe, sorry, Aya-chan. I can get a little... overenthusiastic sometimes. I didn't expect you to be so... well, adorable." She didn't know if the girl would take offense to being called adorable; hopefully, the Nara would take it as a compliment, because it was totally true. Inori was just pointing out an obvious fact. Before pulling away completely, she ruffled the girl's dark hair affectionately. She was already beginning to think of the quiet girl as a little sister, or something akin to that at least.
"Yeah, food sounds great. Do you have a preference? I'll eat anything, so if you want something other than ramen or dango, you can pick the place." Inori offered, grinning. Well, aside from the sudden hug due to the Nara's adorableness, this was going pretty well so far. Now she just had to avoid saying something else dumb, and she'd be golden. |
