Technique Name: [Nunohebi no Jutsu] | [Cloth Snake Technique] Technique's Label: Universal Technique Prerequisites: Cloth, hemp, linen, or silk bandages Rank: C Type: Ninjutsu [Non-Elemental] Elemental Nature: - Hand-Seals: Bird -> Dragon -> Horse -> Snake Speed of Technique: 4.0x Kunai Chakra Consumption: Low-constant Description: Nunohebi no Jutsu uses precise chakra control to forcefully unwrap the bandages on the user's body (although not completely). The bandages, with the user's chakra spread throughout the material, then bend into the shape of the user's will. This can occur in a variety of ways, but the two predominant methods of the technique are: (1) to force one's chakra to maintain a consistent flow throughout the technique (the bandage folds up and down, mimicking a snake watching its prey), which then allows the user to wrap or constrict their opponent, and (2) to thin and flatten their chakra across the bandage, stiffening it into a long, rigid object.
The first method employs a rope-binding style to halt an opponent's movements. While chakra control allows the user to manipulate the cloth's movements, it only enhances the material's endurance to D-rank, still allowing for the constriction to keep a firmer hold. The second method allows the cloth to be used like a sword, utilizing its rigidity and chakra enhancement to slice objects or people. With the chakra flowing through the cloth, its endurance and cutting ability match C-rank, capable of deflecting blades and slicing hard surfaces surprisingly easily.
If the bandage is five feet or lower, the chakra consumption is low but constant. From five to teen feet, the consumption is medium and constant. Any longer than ten feet usually exceeds the length of a bandage wrapped around a person's limbs, and its larger chakra consumption renders such a trade-off ineffective. Prolonged use of the technique can use up more chakra than the user expects, if they are not careful.
The bandages must remain in physical contact with the technique's user to stay active. Thus, the user should not completely unwrap the bandage in order to keep the cloth minimally around their limbs.
Technique Name: [Kinu Tate no Jutsu] | [Silk Shield Technique] Technique's Label: Universal Technique Prerequisites: Silk clothing, B-rank Chakra Control Rank: B Type: Ninjutsu [Non-Elemental] Elemental Nature: - Hand-Seals: Dog -> Hare -> Horse -> Ox -> Dragon Speed of Technique: 5.50x Kunai Chakra Consumption: Low to Medium-constant Description: This technique uses chakra control to take advantage of silk's durable composition. After forming the handseals required to activate the technique, the user channels their chakra into their silk clothing and spreads that chakra throughout the material's bonding. On a very minuscule level, the threads that keep the silk together become further strengthened by the chakra, which also covers up even the tiniest of pores in the material. This chakra coating allows the user to block an attack of a special nature, such as an Elemental Ninjutsu, or even to block weapons that would otherwise cut through the silk.
The technique's range is limited to the silk clothing, and the amount of chakra consumed ultimately depends upon the size of the clothing that the chakra covers. For example, small gloves require a low consumption of chakra, whereas a cape would require a medium consumption if it extends approximately three feet or longer from the user's shoulders.* In order to keep the shield active for longer than the brief moment needed to block the attack, the user can maintain a constant flow of their chakra into the silk--but this could cause excess lose of chakra in the process.
Regardless of the size of the clothing that is coated with chakra, the endurance capabilities of the silk match B-rank, rendering them very effective against basic attacks of most types. This results from the combination of silk's natural durability and the highly compact nature of the chakra coating the used material.
*NOTE: These examples specifically apply to Daishin. Should other characters want to use this technique, their consumption may change, based on their attire.
