[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true] dear lucid, my time is right to dance away while the bullets fly you know they come so close, so close will you fight for your agenda or will you fight for air? The young second wife of the Third Tsuchikage had departed from the village early that morning, before the sun had risen, in order to arrive at her destination before the man she was coming to meet. It had been a strange invitation that she had received - whoever had sent her the message had failed to mention anything about himself. It had contained a date, a time, and a place, and little else. Being intrigued, and entirely sure of her own power, she had chosen to humor this strange man and grant him the honor of a meeting with one of Iwa's most powerful shinobi.
She was secluded away in a private section of a tea house, sipping on hot green tea, and thinking about who could have sent the invitation. As she had been asked in the note to keep the meeting entirely secret and not even reveal it to the Kage - as if she would tell her lousy husband anything he didn't absolutely have to know - she suspected that he was a rogue of some sort, although she could not think of what a rogue would possibly gain from meeting her. If it was anyone with a significant bounty on their head, only one person would leave the meeting alive - that was for sure.
Masumi highly doubted that it would be a shinobi from another nation; they would have absolutely nothing to gain and everything to lose. Since her hatred of the man she had been forced to marry was not known to anyone outside of Chinatsu himself, it could not possibly be anyone wishing for her to spy on the village. To the citizens, and to the outside world, she was a distant but loving wife, with no public evidence to suggest anything different. One would have to be a madman to assume she would turn on Iwagakure without knowing anything about her.
Well, so long as the man arrived on time, she would not be waiting long to find out his identity. words: 337 | tags: inari | notes: 337/2500 | credit: akemi of btn

→ Inshitsu Kitsune no Iwa.
Otherwise known as the Iwa's Sly Fox, gained her name through her usage of rumored Kitsune, and not simply foxes themselves, but mythical Kitsune which had resemblance to the Kyuubi no Kitsune - his soul. He wondered if the Kitsune creatures themselves could answer questions regarding his taught religion and perhaps insight on the validity of the claim. Having grown to an adult, his thought process was mildly spectacle, but from the K.Scroll and teaching left to him by his teachers, it seems highly possible that the entire prophecy held an ounce of unmistakeable truth. Something he planned to clarify today, even if it means using less...civilized methods to get Iwa's Sly Fox to agree.
A few days ago, he sent a letter of invitation to her doorstep that suggested a meeting between them at a certain place, at a certain time, with a certain date and little else. Whether she would take up this invitation out of idle curiosity or ignore it all together was a flip of a coin that can only land upon her grown-personality. He, personally, would take up on the offer out of idle curiosity, but only that, and partially due to him always having an appropriate escape plan if any problems arise between his host.
→ A Tea House.
Commonly the place of relaxation for tea lovers and the elder. It was perhaps his favorite place to venture before the war began, and it was shut off from Takigakure shinobi, and in any attempt to enter could result into a collision of death and discord - something he wasn't akin to contributing in. Whether that was the case before, now it was different, and he could venture anywhere of his own fruition - still with hint of death and discord, but not much - except for his his homeland of course.
He laid on the couch near the entrance near the far corner, sipping upon his tea in a nonchalant fashion. He had been here for a while scouting the area, even placing countermeasures over various locations in the vast house that it was - one can never be too trusting. He saw a beautiful woman waltzing in fitting the description of Iwa's Sly Fox. His eyes scanned her from toe to scalp, however not in a sexual manner, he no thoughts of sexual activities since this entire plan was conceived, further displaying the numerous amount of focus and individual want for this to succeed, if only for a little intel gathering, and her appearance gave no indication he'll be capable of getting any.
→ He waltzed into the Private Room.
He walked in, head first, displaying his crimson eyes and sliver hair, the features known for the Zenko [Small Organization] Leader and the Sliver Flash of Takigakure. "I hope you're enjoying your tea, Iwa's Sly Fox."

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true] dear lucid, my time is right to dance away while the bullets fly you know they come so close, so close will you fight for your agenda or will you fight for air? Precisely on time. Masumi set down the half full cup of tea and took a long look at the man who had just entered. A smile formed on her face, practiced enough as to look real, as she realized just who he was. "The tea is of high quality." she replied in affirmation. "It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Silver Flash." She was even more intrigued than she had been before - the Silver Flash was a very powerful nukenin. Not to mention he had a bounty that was most certainly worth collecting... It was doubtful, however, that she would be able to collect his. He was a tricky man, said to be on par with any of the five Kage; that was not a man you wanted to get on the bad side of, in any situation. Of course, she fancied herself to be nearly on par with that dreadful man she had had to marry, but knowing little of this rogue... That would be a chance she was not willing to take.
"What would a man like you need of a woman like me?" Straight to business, as always - she felt little need for pleasantries and small talk. The fact of the matter was that he wanted something she had - the only reason why he would set up a meeting - and she probably didn't want to give it to him Depending on what he offered her, anyway... Masumi was a person that would go to any lengths for power and money. If he had enough money to buy her off, he would be leaving with whatever he had come to get. If it was some sort of Iwagakure secret that only, say, the Tsuchikage's wife and personal assistant would be privy to... Now, that would be pricy indeed. words: 303 | tags: inari | notes: 640/2500 | credit: akemi of btn

→ Her Violet Eyes.
Those cold, distant eyes that seemed to have the life of a ghost on the hinges of life. His crimson eyes couldn't help but stare into hers, they held a subtle elegance with a tint of loss, and it was freaky to say the least. Those were the same eyes that his master, who never given his name, possessed and looked at him with as the days passed. It brought about a sudden intrusive memory of his past that was quickly pushed to the back of his subconscious, the only time he let his focus slip during the entirety of planning this meeting, and it was during the meeting that it did - delightful.
"Likewise." She knew him. No. She knew of him and that's all. That was his main advantage, but she applied to that also, he knew nothing about her other than the usage of Kitsune-Like creatures. He walked around and sat in a comfy chair at the opposite side of the room as her to get distance, about 16-18 feet worth. His eyes remained focus on her as her words left her lips. "There's many things a man would want from a woman like you," he started the conversation with a hint of flattery, "however, i want one thing: Information."
→ The First Official Question.
"What do you know about The Inari?" His voice and tone turned intense with every word and emphasized the words: the Inari.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true] dear lucid, my time is right to dance away while the bullets fly you know they come so close, so close will you fight for your agenda or will you fight for air? She met his crimson gaze with her violet, head cocked slightly to the side as she watched him. He seemed - transfixed, almost, for but a short moment. Interesting. What had he seen reflected back at him in her eyes?
She nearly chuckled as he took a seat on the opposite side of the room. 'Ever the cautious one, I see." Not that she could blame him. Moments before, she had been contemplating killing him - she couldn't imagine that many of his encounters with shinobi went differently than that. Anyone who fancied themselves powerful enough take on a Kage - most of those having extensive delusions of grandeur - and wanted that dollar sign that hung over the Silver Flash's head would go after him. Such was the life of a nukenin.
"Flattery will not gt you anywhere with me, Silver Flash." she commented as he spoke, brows slightly raised. Masumi did not appreciate flattery like many other women did - there was power in having a pretty face, but it was a power that she had no desire for whatsoever. Those women that would sleep with a man in order to get what they wanted... It was disgusting, to think that a person would lower themselves to copulating with someone for money or information. She preferred straight, logical negotiation - the only way to really get what you wanted.
"The Inari... as in, the god? A kami thought to be both male and female - patron of smiths and merchants, that used foxes for messengers?" She was beginning to get an idea of what he might want. Of course. Masumi held the contract for foxes - foxes that were closely related to the kitsune of legend. Most of them even had multiple tails - Kishin, the king of the foxes, had a full set of nine. "That would be about the extent of my knowledge regarding the subject. May I assume that you have sought me out due to my relation with foxes?" words: 328 | tags: inari | notes: 968/2500 | credit: akemi of btn

→ It would only make sense her answer was that of the common knowledge. The Inari was indeed a god thought to be male and female, and that's because it was. At least, that's what he was taught as a child. The Inari had three genders, male, female, and spirit. Male comprised its the body. Female compromised its mind. Spirit comprised its power and essence. The only reason a spirit remained neutral or in another gender altogether was its very existence that the spirit is neither male or female and has no distinction other than the deeds done and struggles survived.
That was the basis of the Inari religion he was raised upon, but there was more to it than that, and this conversation will surely bring forth more knowledge, at least to his assumption. When she finished her explanation of limited knowledge, Inari were all but skeptical of every word she said, simply due to her being the owner of the Kitsune Contract. It seemed almost impossible for one to not possess keen intelligence on the Inari and the Kitsune's history with possessing all of them at her/his beck and call. It was all too impossible, at least to Inari's assumption.
"You're very sharp," He remarked at her assumption, "That's exactly why i've sought you out. If you could not provide me with decent information on the Kitsune Religion of The Inari, i expected the foxes themselves to be capable of doing so, and by your assumption, i assume your name precedes your capabilities to summon foxes."
[/i] He turned around, looking at the clock that was slightly above Masumi, it read 4:12 P.M, and his face showed a slight twitch of seriousness as his ears perked upwards and his eyes glanced towards the door. Perhaps it was nothing, bus his instincts shouted towards him, but this meeting was far too important to throw away due to paranoia. If he could get her to acknowledged her ability to summon foxes, he can proceed to phase two of his overall plan. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true] dear lucid, my time is right to dance away while the bullets fly you know they come so close, so close will you fight for your agenda or will you fight for air? Masumi's first real impression of the man was not of his grace, or his strength, or anything of that sort - her first impression was that he took his religion too seriously. While she could understand the basic idea behind religion - having some higher power or deity, in most cases believed to have set out the destiny for each person before they were born, or even thought of, to absolve the masses of any guilt they might feel for impure or impious actions and thus allow them to live however they would like with the 'guarantee' that they would go to a 'heaven' of some sort or earn reincarnation despite such things never being proven to exist - she did not understand how anyone could believe so fervently in spirits or deities. Why on earth would one choose to believe that they had no control over their life simply to earn an afterlife that, most likely, they would not truly enjoy? The gullibility of most human beings was dreadful indeed. However, she would not mention anything of the sort aloud - despite not fearing the Silver Flash, she did not feel it would be in her best interest to get on his bad side.
As one might assume, the woman put no stock in religion, myth, legend, any of it. She was the master of her own fate and owed her choices and successes in life to her own doing, not because she had faith in something that could not be proven to exist.
"Yes, of course. I... am not a very religious person myself, so pardon me for not knowing more myself. My summons do speak of the Inari from time to time, however." She assumed he would want to meet one of the foxes; why on earth would he seek out their summoner if he did not? And she had just the one in mind, too; a younger kitsune, one from her personal contract. Those foxes were said to be closer to the 'spirit world' and would, logically, know more about this religion. words: 343 | tags: inari | notes: 1311/2500 | credit: akemi of btn

→ Why? Why did he sense a strange feeling of disturbance. Perhaps it was the abnormal footsteps that rummaged around the outside of their private room, or perhaps it was the time of the clock - perhaps even the clock itself. He had not tried to hide his identity to the owner of the shop due to them being on good graces before, and their brief conversation of his non-loyalty towards Takigakure's forces and as such, no harm to him or his business. This happened a day ago. This could be why he was paranoid, but also being next to Iwa's Sly Fox, a strong shinobi of Iwagkure to be known even in his village, and her political power within Iwagakure herself. Perhaps she would attempt to double cross her?
He calmed down, closing his eyes while she spoke her words, his sense of hearing and 6th sense of chakra sensing as his hands slowly performed the tiger hand-seal.
His eyes opened almost immediately thereafter and immediately went to Masumi. "Well. It seems we have company, yours?" It didn't matter, there was about 5-6 globs, it was hard to differentiate, his sensory skill is new to him and he hadn't put much effort into refining it so it could be more or less. On to more important matters, if it was an army of Iwagakure shinobi, and he was betrayed, it would be as simple as taking Masumi Hostage, which wouldn't be too hard to perform, especially at the distance they maintained between each other, but then again, her own abilities brought about a bit of curiousness. However, due to the particularly circumstances, he'll have to give her the benefit of the doubt, even if it's highly likely she was the one who called reinforcements, but there was one thing that was off: "They were too noisy."
"Well, i guess that's the end of our brief discussion for now. Whether they're your friends or not, matters little to nothing to me. All i want to do is talk to one of your knowledgeable foxes, after that, in exchange...i'll offer Zenko, my organization, services to you as a favor, even to your village." Zenko was perhaps known on a small-scale, and whether his reputation as a powerful Takigakure shinobi gone rogue and created an organization that takes request was wildly known or not, he was sure he could pull in her interest simply by offering his own services.
"We're leaving this location. Meet me at secondary mountain from the north at Yougan Kosui if you wish to accept my offer." After his words were said, he was gone in a puff of smoke instantly, and the doors broke down soon after revealing the cafe's boss in the back of a herd of low budged mercs - pathetic.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true] dear lucid, my time is right to dance away while the bullets fly you know they come so close, so close will you fight for your agenda or will you fight for air? Masumi noticed how paranoid the Silver Flash was becoming, and though she did not show it outwardly, it served as a source of amusement for the young jonin. Paranoia itself was rather amusing, in fact; people lived in such fear of the terrors that their own shadows might hold that they forgot to look outside of themselves for danger. They feared that everyone and everything was out to get them and were so fearful of the possibilities that they never saw when reality was coming to attack them from behind.
Ah, so he had some measure of skill with sensory perception. Interesting. It wasn't until she saw this that she became attuned to the surroundings well enough to hear the distinct sounds of several sets of footsteps. Masumi was not so quick to assume that they were not the Silver Flash's men; a spot of good acting could cover up an ambush well. Yet at the same time, she doubted he had called her here in the guise of a meeting only to double cross her - because if he killed her, he could not obtain the information he wanted. And they were certainly not her men; she hadn't spoken a single word of the meeting to anyone else.
"I have not betrayed your trust, Silver Flash. That I can assure you." she responded after he spoke. "Your offer is agreeable; summoning a fox for you to speak to is no trouble at all." And in return she would get the full power of his organization for a favor or two - of course, she did not intend on doing the village any favors. Oh, no - this was her deal to make and her favor to use. Whether to ask for money or rare texts or the research of notorious rogues... Well, that was the difficult part of this decision.
And then he was gone in a puff of smoke. Things were just getting curiouser and curiouser, were they not? Masumi left her half-empty cup of tea on the table, rolling her eyes. A horde of low-budget, unskilled mercenaries. As if that would prevent her from leaving this establishment. To be honest, she probably could have simply pushed through the group and left - no mere mercenary could keep up with Iwa's Mirage, after all - but they had interrupted her tea time, and that was simply unacceptable.
Two kunai found their way into her hand, each with an explosive tag affixed. One landed directly in front of the group of mercenaries, and the other next to the outside wall farthest away from the woman; they went off near simultaneously, and she escaped the building in the haze of smoke.
A short while later, she arrived at the second mountain from the north at Yougan Kosui, where she had been told to meet the Silver Flash. "I apologize for keeping you waiting." words: 484 | tags: inari | notes: 1795/2500; used two kunai + two ex. tags | credit: akemi of btn
