→ Fox Song [Part 1]
"I apologize for keeping you waiting."
→ "Hehe. You barely made me wait more than a few minutes, despite my head start, so i applaud you for your speed. Perhaps it might contest mines, perhaps." They were at the top of the second mountain from the north within the Yougan Kosui, a location filled with ravines, lava valleys, and mountains, said to have been made by a someone of numerous prowess in Doton & Katon, and the basis of that lore was that a Kage created this from pure boredom - only to give him a stage to dance upon. However, as he was sure that the one he had his eyes upon existed, he was entirely sure there was more than one rumor surrounding the unique formation of this location, and perhaps no one will ever know the truth.
His crimson orbs analyzed her body in the most meticulous nature - without perversion - albeit the act itself can be misconstrued as a lustful glare, i can assure you it was not. Then he relaxed suddenly, if not completely randomly, his posture turned from upright and stiff to calm and relaxed. Placing his hand upon his head and sitting down in a lotus position, legs crossed, hands on thighs, almost as if he was meditating. "Lets get down to business shall we?" His vibrant smile and youthful voice brought itself forward, unlike from before where it was stoic and serious. It could seem as if he turned into an entirely different person, but this was the true him, always relaxed, non-paranoid, and cheerful - perhaps a little too confident and arrogant.
Finally, he'll get some answers.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true] dear lucid, my time is right to dance away while the bullets fly you know they come so close, so close will you fight for your agenda or will you fight for air? Masumi was not surprised that the Silver Flash had not been waiting for long - if he had truly been at their meeting, and had not sent a clone of some sort in his place, for that was the first thing to occur to her when he disappeared from the tea house; not that it was necessarily correct - but, after all, she was not the Mirage of Iwagakure for being slow. "Perhaps." she echoed, a small smile on her face. How fast was he, really? Ah, but that was a question that would likely not receive an answer even if it was asked. Rogue shinobi did not often reveal their secrets willingly. "That little disappearing trick you pulled seems quite handy." If it hadn't been a simple clone, perhaps she could fool him into telling her even the slightest bit of information on it - simply to satisfy her curiosity.
And then he was suddenly at ease, apparently secure in his conviction that she would not betray him. Lowering his guard was not as foolish as it would seem - in this case it would pay off, as she had no intention of attacking him. This time, at the very least. At the moment it was still possible for him to prove useful to her, and as such he deserved to keep his life until he was no longer useful.
"Very well - you wish to meet a fox summon, and so you will. Her name is Hakuai. I have no doubts that she will be able to answer your questions; she is a fox of the shrine and quite close to the spirit world." A few hand seals and a puff of smoke later, and a six foot tall pale cream fox with three tails sat in front of the rogue.
The fox turned to look at her summoner. "Masumi-chan, you require my services?" she asked, ruffling the woman's hair with one of her tails. "Oh, did you summon me so I can help plan the ball for your anniversary? You know how badly I want to help!"
The woman stifled a sigh and stretched up to scratch behind the fox's ears. "No, Hakuai. An.. acquaintance of mine wishes to speak to you."
"Oh?" Hakuai craned her head to look for the rogue; she didn't find him until Masumi pointed out that he was sitting down, making the woman shake her head. For being a member of such an intelligent species, Hakuai was not exactly the brightest. → His excitement could not be confided in his body. He exhumed like a child waiting for his birthday presents, albeit he should be more serious at this moment, he wasn't a type for being overly serious in situations that did not need it - unlike earlier which did. Especially when she commented on his trick, he almost blushed read as he rubbed the back of his head, hehe, it was a useful trick, especially in parties.
"Yeah, it comes in handy sometimes." He rubbed his nose in response, and walked up towards Masumi. He was ready to receive whatever came after this after Masumi had finished talking. A few handseals and a slam to the ground caused a poof of smoke and a fox to appear. It was six-feet in height, pale cream fox with three-tails. Amazing. So Kitsune were real. His eyes sparkled with amazement and a tinge of disbelief in this moment. The conversation and how she was acting was surreal, and he wondered what the fox would do when he asks the questions he came to ask. Or to tell them that he was the body of their god? Would they believe it? Would they treat him as a fool and nothing but a fool? Would his life be nothing but a lie upon a lie, or were they ignorant to it as much as he was? He was definitely ready to find out.
"Hello," his tone so formal and filled with respect, "Hakuai-Sama, i have a few questions i want to be answered, if you would be so kind." He took a moment to appreciate the delicate form of the three-tailed fox that was before him, taking a deep breath, his speech began to increase in pace. "One, have you ever heard of a Organization or Religion called The K?" He drew the symbol upon the ground with his hand, it was a K with four tails branching from each end that the K made, symbolizing the four tails pointing towards the 4 corners of the world. "If so, do you know about The Inari and its existence?" He took a pause, and continued, his heart was in this question.
"Does the Kyuubi, the Bijuu, hold some power over your existence or is it connected to any of your known lore / history?"

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true] dear lucid, my time is right to dance away while the bullets fly you know they come so close, so close will you fight for your agenda or will you fight for air? He was exhibiting the excited tendencies of a child already, and he hadn't even spoken to Hakuai yet. Hopefully he would contain his childish glee to his expression and perhaps his words; anything more and she would be tempted to ask her summon to smack him with all three of her tails. Truly, she did not understand why such a simple action on her part had enticed such feelings from him. He was not even really getting anything out of this arrangement, just a chat with a fox - while that was a rare opportunity, it certainly was not anything extraordinary - and she had his organization at her service, if only temporarily. The things a fanatic would do in the name of his religion.
"I'm sure." she murmured, watching his reaction to the appearance of the fox. He looked like he had just received the best gift in the world - nay, the universe - a priceless prize, worth more than could be put into words. She had to refrain from rolling her eyes. She was beginning to rethink her opinion of him as a composed and somewhat serious individual. Indeed, he seemed more like a fool than anything else.
"Oh, you don't have to be so formal with me, uh... what's your name?" She ruffled his hair playfully with a tail, grinning back at Masumi. "But at least someone knows how to respect a guardian of the shrine, Masumi-chan." Her tone was light and teasing, but the jonin narrowed her eyes and said nothing. "Ask away, dear."
The light of comprehension came into the fox's eyes as the man spoke his first question. "Ah, yes, the kitsune religion. Of course I've heard of it. We summon foxes live at one of the oldest shrines to the god Inari, after all. In a way, I suppose you could say we are like the messenger foxes in his stories." Hakuai seemed eager to speak to someone else that had a fondness for religion - unlike the coldly logical Masumi, who refused to believe in any sort of cosmic forces or destiny. "The Inari is my god too, little one." Casting another glance back at Masumi, she leaned down to whisper to the man. "She doesn't have any faith, but let me tell you, Inari is as real as you and I."
She pondered his lat question for a moment, then shook her head. "I've heard of this Kyuubi, but it seems to be an entirely different entity, separate from foxes like me and the rest of those signed to the contract. I'm sure there is some myth out there that connects the bijuu to us, but as far as I know, it would be false." words: 460 | tags: inari | notes: 2675; chakra: 54% | credit: akemi of btn

→ "Zaraki Inari," he replied to her question about his name.
His ears were open to its entirely, as he intensely stayed focus on any and all things this Kitsune - Messenger for Inari - had to say and do, her movements similar to his own in his Kitsune state, and her playfulness resembles that of the legends as she ruffled his hair. Every word burrowed into his mind, every mention of Inari clung to his other belief as he tried to make connections between what he already knew, and what's been said. His eyes traversed to Masumi as the Hakuai emphasized her disbelief in the Inari. When Hakuai finished his last question, his face went from an intense determination to a wondering expression of confusion and thought. The Kyuubi...connection is false, however, there are rumors. Is it possible that even the Kitsune doesn't know? Or is the K-Org truly a mixture of false believers making connections where their wasn't one.
His thoughts continued to spiral in similar mindset of his questioning one. He let out a sigh after a good few seconds, and realized what he had to do. "Thank you, Hakuai-Sama," he still could not have it in him to say any other honorific despite her words - show of the enormous respect he possesses for the Kitsune. "You've answered a lot of my suspicions, and brought forth many other questions i would like to ask, but, i can't ask them now." He stated in a disappointing tone, it was true, what was he supposed to say? "I'm the Inari's Body, and the Kyuubi is the spirit and essence of all the fox god. Separated by birth, lah lah lah." The first thought that he'd suspected to go through Hakuai's mind was his own gullible nature and lies feed to him by others. He wanted to have proof or at least some piece of evidence to back up his story, perhaps this might shine a light upon the Kitsune Religion that they praise themselves.
"I hope that we meet again soon, this time, i can explain everything about me, the kyuubi, the inari, and the K." He had the scroll, he had the story, but...he couldn't read it. It was in a language he was only taught slightly, however, most of it was unreadable due to his lack of knowledge. This was how the Hirashin no Jutsu came about, and he was sure the scroll could reveal more about it if he could study and decipher it longer. He got up from his position, dusting himself off gently, and keeping note of Hakuai's presence as to not get any dirt upon her.
"Before i take my leave, Hakuai-Sama, i do have one question left. Answer it to the best of your ability, please?" He crouched back down, his index finger complete straightforward while his others enclosed. A few strokes his index towards the ground left a symbol that was embedded within the FTG itself, however, just a small fragment, and it was the key to its existence.
"Do you know what this says?" It was also in the language within the Kitsune Scroll, the best he could decipher it was that it meant "Movement" however, it seemed to have a further meeting and it's only a small section, as from what he could tell...it was made of two, not just one word.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true] dear lucid, my time is right to dance away while the bullets fly you know they come so close, so close will you fight for your agenda or will you fight for air? The longer this went on, the more bored with the whole thing the woman became. She had no desire to waste her time listening to a religious fanatic chat up one of her summons any longer, but for the sake of the arrangement, she would allow it to continue. He might not be all that enlightened in the matters of spirituality - enlightenment being the knowledge that there was no god - but he was still a powerful and potentially dangerous man whose bad side she didn't exactly want to get on. Masumi stared at him with cold eyes when he looked up, as if he couldn't believe there existed a person who didn't subscribe to his system of beliefs. Ridiculous. This entire charade was ridiculous.
"You're welcome to speak with me anytime. I'm sure Masumi-chan wouldn't mind too much. Really, you just have to ignore her sometimes. She's a stick in the mud at her best." Hakuai confided, nodding her head seriously, but the solemnity with which she spoke was broken by her wide foxy grin. She had never met a human being that seemed so deeply ingrained in kitsune religion - young Zaraki Inari, a man named after her god, was quite the curiosity indeed, and this certainly would not be the last time she spoke to him if she had anything to say about it.
"I would love to hear more of what you have to say. After all, just because I know something that's different from what you do, that doesn't necessarily mean either of us is wrong, you know." She studied the symbol he drew on the ground with a focused intensity, frowning - peering so deeply into the strange drawing, as if that would somehow unlock its secrets. "...I'm sorry, Inari-kun. I'm not sure what this means either. Some of the elder kitsune might know, though - I'll ask as soon as I am dismissed, and hopefully I'll have an answer for you the next time we meet." Though she was technically one of the elder kitsune, she was much younger than the rest of them.
"If you don't mind..." Masumi interjected, clearing her throat. "If I am gone much longer, my absence will be noticed. Farewell for now, Silver Flash. We will meet again at your leisure." After scratching behind the summon's ears, she said farewell to Hakuai and dismissed the vixen. "Rest assured, I will collect on the favor I am owed soon enough."

→ Hakuai seemed to not know what the symbol meant, but when she informed him that the elders may know, then his hopes were refreshed. If this lead to nothing but an end, then he'll be stuck until he could find a book or something that translated it properly. He got up from his crouched position, gave a slight bow to Hakuai, "I'll be hoping for such a time to come." His eyes went to Masumi as she declared she must take her leave and she will collect upon the debt he now owed, he gave a silent nod confirming her words, and disappeared himself in a shadow outline.
Today was informative, and he didn't suspect this story would come to an end anytime soon.
