TONIGHT, I SHALL BE HERE. Under the guise of a high ranking mission, Noriaki had called one of his Genin to accompany him today, and though the girl would surely be heartbroken when she found out exactly what the two of them were going to be doing today, there was going to be a valuable lesson learned. Specifically, the lesson was going to be taught to one Ren Natsumi who had garnered the bright idea to steal the Jounin's pants during their outing not too long ago. He'd never forget the stares received by most, if not all of the villagers that day; hell, it would have been more weird to not get looked at while running through the village in a pair of wet boxers and a flak jacket. Not that Noriaki cared or anything, he was quite comfortable in his own skin and had quite the physical physique to match his confidence.
The message he had sent to the girl instructed her to meet her sensei at one of the various supply warehouses on the east side of the village, and there the man would be propped up against a wall. While it may have seemed that they would be gathering supplies before setting off all wasn't true, this place just happened to be on the same side of the village as Natsumi's residence. How did Noriaki come across such information? Well, that's not important but the fact of the matter was that he knew where the woman lived and wasn't afraid to break in her abode to get his pants back, assuming that the woman hadn't hung them up on the wall next to her desk as some sort of memento.
Flashbacks of that fateful day played back in the Jounin's head, the beating he took, the near drowning, the kiss. Albeit, that was a clone but nevertheless Natsumi had gotten a bit choked up and even started blushing, which meant even behind that ever stoic expression of hers that a human did indeed exist. He chuckled to himself slightly while throwing away the thoughts, it wasn't like the two of them could ever be together anyway. Noriaki was a fire cracker, explosive and full of life while the woman was... librarian-esque, not to mention she took everything way too seriously. Breaking out Chidori just to prove a point seemed a bit excessive, and that was coming from easily the most insane ninja in all of Taki.

made by akemi "Now, you be good while I'm gone, Gentou." Rika instructed the little blue jay, who chirped at her, disappointed that he was being left behind yet again. "I know you want to come with me, but if this is really some important, dangerous mission... I don't want you to get hurt. You understand?" The bird chirped in affirmation, affectionately tugging on a strand of her hair before flitting away, most likely to bother her older brother until the genin's return. "Behave, Gentou!" Mischief and the blue jay were not strangers, and she didn't want him getting in any trouble just because she wasn't there to keep an eye on him.
Her highly eccentric sensei had told her to meet him at a supply warehouse - she guessed it was because the mission would have a long duration, or because they needed something special to take with them. And although she was pretty excited - since she'd never gone on a mission higher than D-Rank - she couldn't help but be nervous. Why her? Why not Akaime and her fearsome ostrich, a much more skilled pair than Rika and her harmless little jay? Why a genin at all? Genin getting high-ranked missions was a rarity, and it was never for a good reason...
Still, the girl arrived at the warehouse precisely on time to find her sensei leaning against the building, cool as a cucumber, sporting his triangular shades and lacking a shirt underneath his flak jacket, as always. "Hello, sensei! So, what is this mission you wanted me for?" At the very least she expected it to be something like rescuing a person that was in danger - something exciting, at the very least.
Rika tried not to show Noriaki just how nervous she was; if she did, he might have second thoughts and pick someone else to take with him... That would simultaneously be a relief and a disappointment; she didn't want to face any serious danger, but at the same time she didn't want to disappoint her sensei by not being brave enough to go with him. |

TONIGHT, I SHALL BE HERE. It was only a few moments before the high pitched voice of the Genin pierced Noriaki's ears, and a single eye opened to confirm that it was indeed her. She was right on time, perfect, because an operation such as this needed as much daylight as possible. Flexing his back muscles to lurch him off the wall, the Jounin inhaled deeply before looking to the sky for a moment and contemplating his next move. Was he going to come clean to Rika about how what the two of them were about to embark on was not a high ranking mission, and more an errand to get his pants back? Hell no, that would take away all the fun.
"Glad to see you've made it, and right on time as well." He spoke while shifting his gaze to the young girl. Noriaki noticed that she was without that bird or hers this time around, probably keeping it out of harms way as she assumed that this was a high ranking mission. Granted, having that small bird around would always be a better option than that damned ostrich that other Genin walked around with. I mean, who the hell even knows where to buy one of those things let alone domesticates it? That thought alone was enough to drive the Jounin insane... well, more insane. "Let's get a move on, then." The man added before walking off, not towards the entrance to the village but more so towards the eastern residential district.
He had a hunch that Natsumi would be at her home about now, and if not then he'd be forced to raise hell in the Lord's office. "Our mission is rescue, to keep it short. Normally that wouldn't require such a high ranking but the captor is a very skilled, and dangerous person." Though technically not a lie, one could see where the lines between picking up laundry and amazing ninja mission would be muddled, but that wasn't important at the moment. "I brought you along because I have faith in your abilities, so just stick close and everything will be A-Ok!" Noriaki continued as he flashed a smile over to the girl, it was obvious that she was nervous, all Genin were to some degree. Along with training them in the ninja arts it was also a sensei's responsibility to bring up their mental fortitude. Battles were grueling and the weak were often the first to die, and though that bit of knowledge Noriaki wouldn't impart on Rika for fear of her collapsing all together, she was going to learn that valuable lesson one way or another.

made by akemi Rika was a little curious as to why they were heading toward part of the residential districts instead of out of the village... any high-ranking mission in the village, if that was even possible, would be tackled by any jonin and chunin that weren't already out on missions, wouldn't it? At the very least, a jonin wouldn't be standing around waiting for a genin to show up, he'd be out solving the problem. Something about this whole thing just didn't make any sense. She would have thought they were just picking up another teammate, but that wasn't logical either - why not have this hypothetical third teammate meet them where they were? There was something fishy going on, and Rika had absolutely no idea what it was, and to be honest, she was a little afraid to ask her crazy sensei.
Ooh, so it was a rescue mission! Rika's suspicion was stemmed by her excitement that she actually got to help rescue somebody. And it had to be a somebody, because getting an old lady's cat out of a tree - while very nice and helpful and a good way to get free cookies - would never be classified as a high-ranking mission. The mention of a dangerous and skilled captor... that was what worried her, just a little bit. But that's what Noriaki was there for, right? He could fight the scary person and maybe she could free whoever they were rescuing - maybe that was why he brought her, so she could do the easy part and they could leave with whoever they were rescuing before anyone else would show up to try to keep the person in captivity! Perhaps her imagination was running a little wild, but the danger and the glory of a mission like this could only be exaggerated in the mind of someone who had never even done a C-Rank.
She returned his smile with one of her own, and a little of that nervous tension was relieved. If he had faith in her, then she should be able to have faith in herself, shouldn't she? |

[atrb=border,0,true]maybe life is nothing more than a curse inside the blessed A soft whistle flooded Natsu's small apartment. The sound prompted her to rise from the chair she'd been seated in and head into the kitchen to check on the tea that she'd been making. After a quick peek confirmed that it was indeed ready, she pulled the teabag out and dumped it in the trash, turning off the stove to safely pour herself a cup. With that accomplished, she set the teapot back on the oven, before heading back to the chair, sitting cross legged while holding the cup up to her mouth to blow on it's surface, dispelling the steam emanating from the liquid as it cooled a bit.
Natsu's quarters weren't anything special. There was a bathroom, the bedroom, a den, and the kitchen. It was on the second floor of a building near the edge of the village, which made it a little inconvenient when heading to work, located near the center of the village, but otherwise she found the accommodations adequate. A few trophies hung around the den area. The broken hilt of some weapon wielded by a Nukenin that was rumored to be indestructible; which had proven false when Natsu cleaved both the blade and the man's body with a single blow of her Chidori. A cracked Iwa forebeard protector... her brother's. A badly damaged, modified Taki flak jacket- the first she'd ever owned, which had been a gift from her parents when she was promoted to Chuunin. And a few other prizes adorned the room. As for her own appearance, as she was home alone, Natsu wore little more than a pair of pink cat-print panties and a white button-down shirt with only the top three buttons fastened, revealing her navel.
Deciding it had had long enough to cool, Natsu brought the cup to her lips and tilted it forward... only to jolt upright as the hot liquid burned her lips. She set the cup on the small table beside her and clicked her tongue in annoyance, rising for a second time to get a glass of cold water from the kitchen. i will fight this bloody war with every strangled breath |

TONIGHT, I SHALL BE HERE. Seeing the girl smile assured Noriaki that his plan was pretty much going to go off without a hitch, well at least on his end. Nothing much could be said in terms of how a certain other woman would react when the two would arrive at her door step, though the man was well prepared to deal with whatever came their way. As the two made their way further into the residential district, which sort of coincided with the edge of the village, shielded eyes began to look around for the complex that held Natsumi's apartment. How he had gotten that information wasn't important as there was a decent pair of pants at stake.
"Ah, here we go." The man exclaimed as he neared the building that housed the thief. A couple flights of stairs later and the duo would find themselves a feet feet away from the abode of Natsumi. While he wanted nothing more than to just blow the door down, storm in like a mad man and find his pants, having Rika tag along meant that a more gentle approach had to be taken... at least for now. The Jounin closed his eyes while performing a single hand seal and in the darkness came the outline of a person that seemed to be sitting, surely it had to be that woman. Odd as it was, Noriaki did have decent skill when it came to sensory perception and making out the dull chakra signature that belonged to Natsumi wasn't all that difficult.
"Be ready, things are about to get... interesting." He spoke to the Genin with a slight chuckle. Did part of him feel bad for lying to the girl about the mission? Yeah, but once she saw first hand the ruthlessness that lay within Natsumi it would become very clear why Noriaki had labeled spoke in the manner that he did. A few knocks would come next as the man positioned himself in front of the door with a look that was half business, half I-know-what-you-look-like-under-those-clothes.

made by akemi Things just kept getting stranger and stranger, really, and Rika couldn't help but to be a little suspicious about this dangerous mission. "Sensei..." she began, but then halted, hesitant to even suggest that she thought he might not have been exactly straight with her. After all, what if she turned out to be wrong, and this really was some important rescue, and then she looked foolish for asking him what his true intentions had been, bringing her here? "...never mind." It was best just to wait it out and see what happened, wasn't it?
The apartment they approached was nondescript, looking no different from the various others in the area, yet made significant because it was their destination. Then her crazy sensei got all still, and closed his eyes, and she eventually figured out that he was using some kind of sensory ability which she hadn't known that he possessed. Huh. Well, you learn something new every day, don't you? She never would have guessed him to be the sensory type at all, which she guessed could be one reason he'd developed the ability - just 'cause no one would ever expect it.
"What kind of interesting?" Rika asked, wary. There was good interesting and bad interesting, and while she was expecting the latter she was really, really hoping for the former because it tended to be less dangerous and to be honest she was pretty scared of dangerous stuff.
She was a little surprised that he knocked instead of punching a hole through the door or setting it on fire or something... There was definitely something up with her crazy sensei's behavior, but now she wasn't sure whether she wanted to know what it was or not... And the same went for that weird look on his face, too. |

[atrb=border,0,true]maybe life is nothing more than a curse inside the blessed When Natsu reached the kitchen, she opened the fridge... only to see that she was out of bottled water. She sighed softly, making a mental note to get more of the stuff as she simply took an empty cup from the counter and filled it with water from the sink, taking a mouthful of the cool liquid to soothe her injured tongue. She was just starting to head back to the chair she'd been previously sitting at when she heard a knock on the door. It didn't sound like the short, severe taps that were characteristic of an ANBU agent, so she was a bit suspicious of it- after all, nobody ever came to visit her... and with good reason. It wasn't as though she was a social butterfly.
Without bothering to get dressed, she moved over to the door and cracked it ever so slightly, using just one eye to peer through the crack... Fukui Noriaki. She immediately slammed the door shut and flicked the lock, turning away and heading back to her chair. "Nope." i will fight this bloody war with every strangled breath |

TONIGHT, I SHALL BE HERE. The door cracked open ever so slightly to reveal a single eye before slamming shut, an expected response and deep down inside just what the Jounin wanted to happen. He knew very well that this was not going to be an easy endeavor, not only due to Natsumi being a glorified stone, but because she was powerful as well. It seemed that the route less traveled would be chosen today, and a wicked grin crossed Noriaki's features as the slits on his palms opened and began taking in air. Was he about to use the same tactic as their last encounter? Yes. Did he forget what had happened last time? No, but that was the reason Rika had been chosen to come along. Hell, any of the Genin would have done but her's was the name that had been easiest to remember.
"Stand back, but as soon as I move be sure to stay close behind me, ok?" He spoke to the girl before raising both arms and aiming his palms at the locked door. It was actually pretty funny that the woman thought that she would rid herself of Noriaki's presence by just closing the door knowing good and well that he wouldn't stop in his quest to retrieve those pants. "HERE WE GOOO!!" The Jounin shouted before unleashing a devastating blast of pressurized air from his vents aimed squarely at the poor door, which unless it mas made from some kind of reinforced steel would be blown to bits almost instantly. Along with the bits of door would come dust that had been kicked up that created a small window to move in the shroud, and the man planned to use every second of it. Granted, Natsumi would probably be looking in the direction anyway but that was moot.
Without so much as a nod Noriaki jumped into the abode, hoping that Rika would follow assuming that the blast hadn't startled her too much. The place was plain, nearly empty, and befitting a woman such as Natsumi. The Jounin had taken up position against the right wall of where the door had once stood in a battle ready stance, he knew what was coming next. "You know why I'm here. Return them at once." His voice an odd tone of serious, but that was mostly for show, as on the inside he was rolling around in laughter at having to take such measures to get back a pair of pants.

made by akemi She just barely caught a glimpse of the woman through the crack in the door before she slammed it shut. Whoever was in there really didn't want to see her crazy sensei, it seemed... not that she could blame the woman. If Noriaki had been sent on a mission to find her, she wouldn't have been happy to see him either. So, although it was a little rude, Rika couldn't say the woman's action had been without reason.
"...alright, sensei." Rika hastily backed up a few paces, eying the man nervously. She wasn't quite sure what he was going to do... hopefully it wouldn't involve fire or explosions, because those were kind of detrimental to the well-being of not only their quarry, but everyone else in the building too... but with the way Noriaki was, it wouldn't surprise her too much if he endangered the rest of the people in the apartment building in order to get to his target.
She flinched when he blew the door to bits, ducking down to avoid some of the wood shrapnel. A few moments of hesitation, and then she followed him in the newly-created opening as the dust began to settle. Hanging back behind him, she tried to make herself smaller, less noticeable. If this woman really was scary dangerous, she didn't want to get in the way of a fight. |
