► Appearance

First and foremost about Hishin's appearance is his striking red hair- dyed like the land of the rising sun. In reality, his hair is a striking black. This uncanny glorious physique is from the mix of a Hyūga and Uzumaki. The next of Hishin's most striking features are his Lavender coloured eyes that signifies the Hyūga clan although the colour is usually covered by coloured contact lenses of Hishin's choosing- usually an Emerald Green. Everything about Hishin's is sharpened- a sharp nose, a sharp lined jaw that cuts right up into his ears perfectly and pert lips that are good in proportion, and even when he smiles you can see where the wrinkles will be in his face- only adding flavor to his character. lastly on his ear is a earring- while Hishin would forebid this, it's the last remaining memory of his former teacher, friend and Nidaime Hokage.

Hishin's body is slim, streamlined and hardly muscular- he's not much to look at but that doesn't mean he isn't strong. Hishin looks a bit like a bag of bones if with his clothes on. When you remove that, since there is no actual muscle there and only the default set-The most muscular looking thing about him are his legs- and even then they are long, thin and you can clearly see the separation between all the muscles. Long story short- he's skinny, not unnatural looking but wouldn't exactly get naked in front of ladies to show off. And Hishin's clothing is much different. Through his upbringing in the Hyūga clan he has become fond of formal clothing- Hakamas, Dogi's and the like. Hishin likes to partake in the ritualistic parts of the ancient rites and passages of the Hyūga clan and strives to keep them alive. His battle garments or mission garments usually change out depending on the occasion- he can go in full battle armour if he's expecting a complete skirmish, or more civilian clothing to blend in with his crowd-

► Mental Assessment

Hishin's temperament is based on the alignment of Chaotic Neutral and he can't help that. Brought up with undivided attention, he has been given a levelled head with impartiality and fairness. He's a bit of an individualist at heart but ritualistically has the views of the greater good at heart. But this doesn't make him a good person nor a bad person. It is well known that Hishin will follow his own way and his own advice and prefers to work without the advice of others. Unfortunately, Hishin regards little with the laws of anywhere.

Hishin has no time for people who like to waste time- in all meanings of the word. People who pissball about and can't get things done; forcing Hishin to take action and take it upon himself is one of the key factors in his use as a nukenin. Always having work done to the dot of the i. Beneath this quite calm temperament is a bit more of a selfish side. Hishin holds his own health and welfare above other people. Do not mistake Hishin for an unkind person- he will not trod on innocents, nor manipulate them to get his own way unless the situation calls for it and believes they have the same right to self pleasure and hedonism.

One of the most inherent traits about Hishin is his drive for other people- he does like to help other people and does find pleasure in doing so, being the teacher of youth and others, but his willingness to teach others gave him great renown from when he was inside Konohagakure no Sato and followed him through the world. Hishin is what other people would call a workaholic- but Hishin doesn't see it that way. He is not a lazy person and avoids such opinions from others. All in all, he's a soul that would like others to count on him and he in replace will provide them with his aid.

► Background Information

First and foremost Hyūga Hishin was an accident- for Hishin was born on the fourth of the fourth on a cool evening night, it wasn't too hot- and it wasn't too warm. This was one of the brightest day that had been seen in a very long time- Hishin's name was originally going to be Hinata: but he came out as a boy. With the brightness being the bane of the day, and talk of the night- Hinata was instead named Hishin. Hishin was proposed as a name that closely translates to either 'Sun God' or 'Sun Soul', that could mean the 'Soul of the Sun' a bright soul. The elders could not openly discuss this. For Hiroshi was the Clan Head. He saw it fit as that Hishin would get the best of tuition, being the only child of his own lineage. From the youngest of ages, Hiroshi would pass on the most important of vices- instilling a unique sense of morality and wisdom to Hishin. Although this could not be entirely explained for a baby like Hishin- everything Hiroshi did was in his son's name.

Hishin's progress as a child was not a bad omen; he was incredibly gifted. His milestones were tremendous and there were many happy moments in Hiroshi's life. He was a cut above other children and you could see that. Hishin was slightly quieter than other children, by no means could you distinguish him from others. Just like his father, and his father's father. However, Hishin's life was severely controlled and restricted, not being able to properly interact with many other children - most notably those not from the Hyūga district. He was taught self control, respect, dignity and impartiality so much so that later on Hishin would instill this into his own children. Hishin's life was closely related to that of a prisoner- he would be kept under watch and it was fruitful, because on only a few occasions would the need for guards suffice- attacks from other civilians, or other Hyūga. This would only tighten security for many years to come. From age three to seven- Hishin saw no light of day nor no day of relaxation. It was spent with one of three people- his father, a clan elder or his bodyguard.

On the days with his father, he would be trained not in his fists- but in his mind. His father was absolutely adamant that Hishin have the wisdom to make the right choices in life. It was on this day that Hishin saw the closest to relaxation- standing in stress points, playing Shogi, drinking green tea (which by no means, was Hishin a fan of) and Hishin was becoming the perfect clay. He obeyed without order. It was this very tight security that he would then grow to be somewhat rebellious and in it's own right made him who he is. Hishin had no contact with his mother- the reason being for emotional toughness. His father sought it ideal that Hishin had no crutch or anybody to lean on for advice but himself. Hiroshi was the man in his life who would provide the harsh truths.

On the days spent with clan elders- in the early years it was hard because originally Hishin was quite shy. This wouldn't do- and so the clan elders made it so that they practically removed any coy antics from him. As he grew older, they changed tact- and introduced the Byakugan. Hishin activated the Byakugan at the age of four- but could not actually view Tenketsu until he was six. So until then, he was forced to learn the Jūken without the use of this. This actually helped him greatly throughout his life due to the simple fact- he was learning where the Tenketsu were before he could see them. Muscle memory was the aid in this. Other days it would be spent training the Byakugan; learning how to see as a Hyūga does. With the guards it was simple- they would beast the boy physically. Only doing the bare minimum that would make sure he kept fit but a slender figure. It would not do to be "big" when it was clearly unneeded.

Aged seven, he took the Genin academy test and passed fairly easily- but it was no time for fun or celebration. He was put on a team with two people he didn't know and a Sensei he was unaware of; and with his Hyūga upbringing he had no clue how to act. So it was distant from his group. His sensei was an elite Jonin eventually after Hishin became a Chuunin, this teacher would be swapped out for someone a lot more special- the Nidaime Hokage. Unbelievably, within the first week he managed to get Hishin talking again. Though, Hishin himself was incredibly less experienced his team mates- not through skill. He could best them, but only for so long; where they had experience. While they didn't have much, they still had a lot more. Sure, Hishin had been through all of it as he was younger- but it had never been put into proper practise; something that Hishin would remedy for his own children. His team was pretty alright, nice and so-on. The only problem was, was that his two teammates were older and physically stronger- upon one spar did Hishin use his power of Jūken and wounded his team-mate. Obviously, they in turn hadn't learned how to attack with intent where Hishin did.

Hishin got punished that night, both by his Ryoishi and his father. It wasn't turning out to be so great at all. his Sensei was a lot calmer, though- and his skills seemed unparalleled. Hishin spent two years as a Genin before taking the Chūnin exams- unfortunately for them they had only taken one C-rank mission and so still hadn't quite seen dangerous stuff yet but he passed pretty well with the aid of his two teammates. Sure, they were friends and all but Hishin was still brought up for far longer to be how he was- and they understood that and didn't try to change him. They failed the first time around- because of being inexperienced and lost in the second exam. They began to take on more dangerous missions- so much so that every day Hishin was doing missions both solo or with a team taking C-ranks. It was another three years of doing nothing but learning from his Sensei who was very talented.

Outside of days with his team he was with his clan learning Juuken with his father- who had long abandoned teaching his mind; Hishin could do that himself. Now were the days of all out spars with his father, Hiroshi that he would eventually learn how to hold his own against his own father- but it wasn't going to be today not for many years would be the day he beat his father. Hishin's own Chūnin exam was relatively easy the second time around- the first exam was a challenge of wit, something that required participants to get to the actual second exam- the second exam took place immediately after. It was a maze that filled with water- with no distinguishable marks and you couldn't see through it because the walls were infused with chakra. Probably made specially for fighting against Hyuga- the team would traverse through the maze.

Third and final was a combat scenario- against other people. This was the one that Hishin had most trouble with. It was placing people in a free for all match in groups of three. Hishin was pitted against a long ranged archer- and a Genjutsu user. They had decided cooperatively, as a Hyūga could sense through Genjutsu and see an arrow coming before being hit- they thought it would be best to team up on Hishin first. Hishin couldn't blame them- it was resourceful thinking. Though, the Genjutsu user couldn't do much other than user her other mediocre skills which Hishin had a nice laugh with being that she hadn't took the time to learn anything else- and had limited herself against an opponent like Hishin. Hishin first advanced on the Genjutsu user and since the archer didn't want to get too close- Hishin used the Genjutsu user as a shield at one point, so he wouldn't get hurt himself before knocking her out nicely. Then he slowly got closer by blocking arrows- taking his time until they had all dissapeared. The archer conceded after that knowing he was out of his league.

He made the promotion to Chūnin at twelve years old- quite good. He was now able to take Solo missions- and he did quite a lot. Fighting was very much his thing and he was quite well known for his quick eyes and Byakugan. While he didn't find reconnaissance missions to be that fun- he did enjoy a good battle despite the warning from his father being a main branch Hyūga. Hishin was beginning to develop his own style of personality. While it had been good, Hishin was becoming more and more professional- he loved working as a Shinobi from the thrills of fighting to the joys of training. This is around the time when he and his team had bonded quite a lot and by this time- they were having regular meetings.

This is when the Nidaime had became the Hokage. Hishin could remember standing standing in the crowd as the Hokage hat was placed on his head- and the crowd roaring. That was cool. Hishin first thought about what it would be like to have that same kind of attention. But before Hishin could leave- there was a silence reigning among the crowd. This had turned to a Shinobi only gathering- from atop the rooftops, the Nidaime called for the four noble clans of Konohagakure - The Aburame, Akimichi, Hyūga , and Uchiha- and the two clans that descended from the 'Sage' himself- Senju and Uzumaki, or so it was said. The Nidaime roared that he would be taking on an apprentice, from one of these clans. The clans were to choose their most talented young one- and they would fight.

The coming weeks were in anticipation- within the Hyuuga clan personally there were intertournaments to see who would become their champion and this was where Hishin stood out on top. Nobody could best him and so he became the champion of the Hyūga's. When it was time to call forth the six champions from the clan, and they were put together in a six man free-for-all battle. It first appeared that the first champions to get involved were the Akimichi and Uchiha; both were eagre to prove.

They were also the very first two to be beaten. Hishin was battling against both the Senju and Uzumaki who decided that they would team up- bringing together an unlikely alliance between the Aburame and Hishin himself. They fought off the the two, and as the moment passed where they were the last two standing- with no hesitation did make a strike into the Aburame's neck; but had only knocked him out as he didn't use his famous fighting style. The Nidaime pulled Hishin to one side and had a conversation with him, about his own future and the great things he was destined for.

Hishin became the Hokage apprentice. This was more than amazing- and Hishin was a student of someone that amazing. Unfortunately, this was a secret between Hishin and the Nidaime- and so even his father could not request to ask where Hishin was dissapearing off to. This is a bit where Hishin's rebellious side began to come out; he had more important things to do. The laws and constraints on Hishin had begun to annoy him. He didn't like them.

Hishin spent three years being the apprentice of the Nidaime and became a Jōnin for his efforts. Unbeknownst to many- Hishin was actually taking B-rank missions constantly as a Chūnin, even embarking on a couple of A-rank missions. With the Nidaimei's help- Hishin put one S-rank mission underneath his belt. Sure, he was completely and utterly out of his league, it was a passive diplomatic mission with another village but still! his level- his skill was coming to light now. Hishin was definitely powerful. The training from the Nidaime combined with the continuous missions only served as a reminder of a motto the Nidaime told Hishin;

"He who dares, wins."

So at the meagre age of fifteen, he was a Jōnin. This was unprecedented! In two years, he didn't know this- but he would be having his own child by the name of Hyūga Hiatari- For now though, he didn't know that- Hishin himself was plotting to take over the Hyūga clan. He was sparring with his father; and he found that his skill was becoming that on par with his own father; which was unusual considering his father had over fifteen years on him. It would just prove that he was a cut above others.

He didn't want to be a Hyuga that had to rely on one thing, just like he had smirked at that Genjutsu user only from his memory. So he went to one of the people that he could trust- still a Chūnin- was one of his teammates.

Horishi Hikina. A fiery redhead. Ninjutsu user- and so she began to teach what she knew to Hishin. They would be getting closer to one another while they learned, she after all still had a couple of years on Hishin. He began to learn Ninjutsu under Hikina's watchful eye, and then with Nidaime as it was brought up- the Hokage smiled at him and obliged. His smile returned many a time after that when Hishin was learning. He wasn't going to be ignorant like his father- only relying on the Jūken. It was around this time that he inherited the summoning of Spiders upon one mission where he got lost after completing it and found his way into their Sanctuary. These animals accepted him as their summoner.

Aged sixteen, he had impregnated Hikina- a drunken night out which he wouldn't actually be telling anyone. The first one he told was his father in front of a meeting- absolute chaos ensued. Fury from his father, and Hishin calmly laid down the challenge.

"I want to be the clan head. Prove your worth and your ability."

And so he did. Unbelievably, Hishin's father- Hiroshi did quite well against Hishin's now spectacular onslaught of abilities- it was purely astounding that now Hishin was going to be entering his prime soon; while Hiroshi was far from leaving it. Hishin became the clan leader that day, and nine months later popped out Hyūga Hiatari. There was no debate about the name. He was incredibly proud- so much so that he allowed more freedom to his son than he did have himself. Making sure that he too taught his son in the way of the mind and in the body- that was his light and his soul. It was now that the Nidaime passed away- leaving Hishin without a teacher. He was replaced by Ryoishi- now the Sandaime Hokage.

He had to train himself, too. He still loved working, but the new found time he had was different- it was not spent training or relaxing- it was dealing with clan matters. Hishin had to quickly adjust to the new lifestyle where you had people constantly needing you, wanting you, needing to sign this, that- and while he didn't mind paperwork and got it all done he soon realized that things had so many... restrictions. And so he began bringing about new traditions- that was not took too most kindly.

The next five years were spent in a haze, from Seventeen to twenty two- Hishin was looking after his only child., Hishin was looking back at his life- a child he thought was doing well; and was unbelievably skilled! Even so much more so than Hishin. Maybe it would be that one day Hiatari would take Hishin on and beat him. Were these the thoughts that his very own father had? His father was getting old. On the eve of Hiatari's birthday- his father passed away honourably. Things seemed to pass in a daze but he learned that time did heal all things and Hikina was also a good mother. Hishin had many ideas- things he wanted for his children. But it wasn't that easy. While he wasn't doing paperwork or training with Ryoishi- things were complacent with him. He wasn't able to easily find the balance between being a clan leader, a father- doing paperwork and training. It didn't seem both could harmoniously coexist together.

Sometimes, Hishin needed a break- and so he left the clan elders to run the clan while he would go on missions to keep his blade sharp and wits sharper; even taking S-rank missions.

Aged twenty-seven^[27] he had found that he was beginning to make an international name of himself. He was becoming the cream of the crop- and so was promoted to Jōnin Hanchō; he found quickly that he could not be a clan leader and a Jōnin Hanchō. So he placed his leadership in the hands of the elders, with them acting leaders- like a democracy of the main branch. He was still the leader, capable of making decisions- but very rarely did Hishin need to intervene with their just actions.

With the growing up of his son, he was understandable when they grew into their rebellious stages; he too had it and his father put up with him. He knew they needed to open up their wings and fly; so he let them to it. But of course he did not forget his place as a father and would still be coming around to visit and all said nonsense.

Ryoishi passed away- but instead of Hishin being made the Sandaime, it was Senju Jagannatha. This was an utmost feeling of jeleousy that Hishin had- and it led him to leave Konohagakure no Sato. It didn't make sense why he- wouldn't be picked.

The following weeks went by in a daze- someone who he could truly consider himself closest to was gone. And now he was a Nukenin; somewhat a title of an acquired taste. That was Hishin's opinion, in a way. Hishin's set about making a name for himelf- killing many people. Years passed on, and he allowed his appearance to change.

For now...

He was unahappy. He couldn't see his son, and he couldn't go back to Konohagakure no Sato.

The Gentle Fist (柔拳, Jūken) or Gentle Fist Art (柔拳法, Jūkenpō) is a form of hand-to-hand combat used by members of the Hyūga clan. It inflicts internal damage through attacking the body's Chakra Pathway System, subsequently injuring organs which are closely intertwined with the area of the network which has been struck.

To do this, the user surgically injects a certain amount of their own chakra into the opponent's chakra pathway system, causing damage to surrounding organs due to their proximity to the chakra circulatory system. Even the slightest tap can cause severe internal damage, hence the name "gentle" fist.

Targeting the tenketsu can enhance the havoc and control a Gentle Fist practitioner can impose upon an opponent's chakra network. These special nodes, 361 in total, are key gate keeping interceptions in the chakra circulatory network, thus forcibly opening or sealing them in whatever manner the Gentle Fist user sees fit is a powerful tactical option to have.

The user's chakra can either increase chakra flow in the opponent's body, or disrupt it completely, preventing them from using techniques. Any chakra-based substance can be destroyed by this technique by leaking chakra from the chakra openings in one's hands and molding it into a needle-like shape to slice through the chakra. However it is unknown if this technique can be done by any Gentle Fist user or just those who can see the tenketsu.

Because the chakra pathway system is invisible to the naked eye, the Byakugan is required for this style to be used effectively. Since the Byakugan is unique to the Hyūga clan, it has become their signature style of combat. The ability to inflict severe internal trauma with minimal external force, combined with chakra network manipulation, makes the Gentle Fist the most reputable and fearsome taijutsu style known in all of Konohagakure.

The primary ability of the Byakugan gives the user a near 360º field of vision, except for one blind spot at the back of the neck above the third thoracic vertebra. Upon activation of the dōjutsu, the wielder is granted an automatic 50 meter field of vision around themselves which can then be extended at their discretion. Hishin's vision can grow to just over three kilometers long.

The second ability is being able to see through solid objects, as well as some degree of telescopic sight. It can also see through most barriers, and other things such as smokescreens/mist, differentiate between non-corporeal clones and can see through techniques that would otherwise hide an opponent from normal sight. The distance and the degree of telescopic sight varies from person to person, and can be improved through training.

The third and one of the greatest uses of the Byakugan is the ability to see chakra, chakra flow, the chakra circulation system inside the body with great detail as well as the colour of chakra. It is from this particular ability that the Hyūga Clan are able to employ their ultimate attack style: Gentle Fist. Unlike the Strong Fist, which is focused on external injuries, the Gentle Fist style focuses on internal injuries. Each strike, when placed correctly, strikes along the chakra pathway system, which is the network of vessels that carry chakra.

This network is closely intertwined with the functioning of the body's organs, and so, when the keirakukei take damage, the organs suffer as well. There is no defence against the Gentle Fist, since one cannot train one's internal organs to become stronger. The only possible defense is to stop the Gentle Fist's hits from connecting. Like the Sharingan and Rinnegan, the Byakugan's ability to see chakra and its flow allows the user to detect chakra sealed barriers as well as determine when genjutsu is being used. It can also discern a transformation, and a real person using the eye's ability to see chakra.

Particularly skilled users of the Byakugan can take the Gentle Fist style one step further. Along the keirakurei are 361 pinprick-sized nodes called tenketsu, or chakra points, which only the Main House users can see. When struck, the Byakugan user can choose to either seal, or forcibly open these tenketsu, thus giving the user complete control over their opponent's chakra system. So, with precision, all those points along the victim's body can be sealed, stopping the chakra flow to those areas. Able to strike without force, and yet do more damage to a ninja than some of the most powerful ninjutsu, the Gentle Fist has been labelled as the greatest taijutsu style known in all of Konohagakure.

A member of the main branch is capable of training their Byakugan to such a point where they are capable of seeing a person's tenketsu. However, this is a very rare sight to see, and a very hard feat; especially when doing so alone.
