At her continued threats Nazo found himself over come with laughter, sincere laughter. "Alright, alright, I get it. But Iku the same goes for me. Try to stab me in the back and you'll find yourself torn apart, piece by tiny piece. You've sampled but a small part of my ability already. Do not test me." Those were his last words of warning as he leaned against the opposite rocky cave wall and listened instead of watched, for the end of the storm.
Before long a few hours would pass and at long last the sky would be visible again. Only now it was the dead of night, the sandstorm having eaten up their precious daylight. "Come, the night may be bitter, but it's better to keep moving during it than it is day. Hopefully we'll be to the border by day break." With that Nazo stepped out of the cave and easily leaped up the distance to the mouth of the canyon before landing on the dusty dunes above. He waited for Iku to join him before once again heading east towards the coast. "I should warn you know, we're not exactly on good terms with Konoha. If you see any Konoha shinobi once we near the border, use caution." Those were his last words for the rest of their trip.
When at long last as the first light was breaking over the horizon, reached the shore, Nazo looked to Iku. "Well then, this is where I take my leave. May you have a safe trip back to your home land." With that Nazo turned back towards the dusty dunes and headed out, "Also," he called back over his shoulder, "You may not think so now but, when you get home look in a bingo book for Sabaku no Shinigami. Then, just then, you might want to reconsider allowing me to be an ally." He stopped a moment, "Farewell Iku no Kenshi." Giving her his own form of a title, Nazo then continued on to depart back into the desert. It didn't take long before the man vanished behind the sandy dunes.
"Iku no Kenshi, I do hope you accept my offer," he muttered to himself before a smile graced his lips, "A seven swordswoman could make an interesting puppet some day, hehe." Made by Tosuke of BTN Chakra: 62% Words: 384 Notes: 3341 words total

NOTES 3338 i've been a bad, bad girl ♥ what i need is a good defense 'cause i'm feeling like a criminal Iku snorted. "I might have a temper, but that doesn't mean I'm stupid enough to attack you for no good reason." she pointed out. Especially because he had an impressive amount of control with those damn chakra strings, and he'd already taken her sword once and nearly choked her with a string she hadn't even noticed - he could most certainly do it again, and with worse results for her. Really, she would have to lack even one working brain cell to want to pitch a fit and attack her guide out of this barren, hellish desert.
She spent the next couple of hours thinking and watching him listen to the storm. If he was unnerved by her staring in his general direction - which she very highly doubted - he didn't give any indication. In fact, he didn't even give an indication that he was aware that her crimson eyes were fixed on him. He wasn't very fun to watch, either - he just sat there and listened and hardly even moved. The roaring of the sandstorm outside their little shelter provided the only noise, and it was driving her crazy. But she wasn't going to try to strike up a conversation - hell no. She didn't particularly want to hear him laughing at her for the umpteenth time, because then she probably would try to gut him, guide through the desert be damned.
Iku followed him out of the cave in stony silence. She wasn't going to complain about the late-night travel, because she really just wanted to be out of this fucking desert - and away from the ivory-haired Sabaku no Shinigami - as fast as was humanly possible. Despite his assurance that he didn't intend to lift a finger against her, she didn't trust him for a second, and likely that would be quite obvious to him.
A part of her almost hoped they ran into someone from Konoha. If said person was dumb enough to provoke a member of the Seven Swordsmen as well as - presumably, anyway - a powerful Suna jonin, she would certainly have a bit of fun with the idiot. Or she could take out her frustrations on Fuku when she got back to Kirigakure; he, at least, could provide a decent match for her when she was pissed - not to mention she didn't think she was capable of actually hurting him to begin with, so...
"Thanks for your help." she muttered, rather ungratefully, under her breath. Perhaps she would look him up in a bingo book upon her arrival in her home village, once she was far enough away from all this bloody sand that she could fucking think straight. "Farewell, Sabaku no Shinigami." It's about damn time.
At last, she was free from the desert, and on her way home where she would finally get to see Fuku again. |
