The Boss Has Several.
→ Lately things weren't as they usually were. Not that there was much of a difference, but it was becoming more difficult to suppress feelings of loneliness. Like he was separate from the rest of the world. Was it simply a problem he would have to deal with as an ANBU operative? Or was it deeply rooted in his hidden background? It didn't matter. All that mattered was right there and then. He was changing it.
→ He, the Hanchou's personal lapdog. It would seem that the idea of using this man as a medium for getting to know other contributing villagers appealed to him. There was someone whom he thought might be a perfect candidate for this situation. But how to approach this person... He would have to make-do with the situation at hand. They were both his direct subordinates, so it wouldn't be strange at all. Yes. That is what he was going for.
→ She was his assistant – the Hanchou's. There didn't seem to be much to her; she mostly appeared to be a typical secretary-type who liked her job. At least based on what he had seen so far from her, at a distance. Maybe this wouldn't be too difficult. He had no strategy though. Being the beginner he was at this, he was probably going to stick to talking about work. If things got a little awkward here and there, well... That wouldn't be surprising.
→ Being in front of the office, an unfamiliar sensation of openness was felt. That wasn't something he was used to. There were people here that served the village just as he did, but they did so in broad daylight. In front of everyone's eyes for the most part. He did so with his face behind a mask and his body dipped in darkness. Creeping out of the shadows... Felt like stepping into an alien world.
Would taking it off make this easier?

[atrb=border,0,true]maybe life is nothing more than a curse inside the blessed The days seemed to all blend together. As much as she felt no desire to return to the field, at least the days were easy to keep track of when every waking moment was filled with anxiety and danger. As it was, she simply came in, signed a few forms, placed the seal on a few documents, then turned in for the day only to start the cycle anew over and over again. She didn't hate her job, far from it- she was glad to serve the village any way she could. It could just be very... plain.
Despite her own feelings on the matter, it seemed like there wasn't a single person in the village who didn't know who she was, despite only being a Special Jounin. There was a number of factors behind it- such as her position as Kuchigawa's personal assistant, or the strength of her loyalty to the village- after all, who had sacrificed more than she in it's defense? Natsu placed the pen beside the paper she'd been working on before leaning back in her chair, staring at the ceiling. Was this what she really wanted from life? Fukui had shown her another side to things, but... being around him only frustrated her, and his boundless energy left her feeling exhausted despite him doing all of the work. Maybe she should get out a bit more, but that Jounin was definitely the wrong person to do it with.
The woman hesitated for a long while before moving the form she'd had in front of her to the side, instead reaching into one of the desk's lower drawers to pull out a large black book- part thirteen in a vast series; the village register. Kuchigawa had tasked her with finding a suitable protege to pass her Chidori onto, a plan which was her own idea to begin with. She'd originally sat diligently at her post, pouring over the names and general abilities of each shinobi- the same outline they assigned missions from, but eventually it became tiring. She listed to one side, using her left knuckle to keep her head raised while flipping through the pages with her right. i will fight this bloody war with every strangled breath |
