Along with this, she was perhaps one of the only shinobi in his village who could stand her own against his strength with her raw power. For quite some time, the two have been partners of sort in the combat field and in political maters, which made it no surprise that he wanted her to take office after he lost the spot. ➤ POLITICAL STANDPOINT: Underneath the drunken child-like demeanor she displays, Kotone is a very political person at heart. She has a great number of viewpoints on how things should operate, and what's the desired outcome of her village dream. Like most sane leaders, Kotone wants nothing more than just the best for her village. To live in a world with absolutely no enemies is her true goal in terms of happiness, but with the current times, that is far from possible. With that being said, she plays her cards right. She knows just how corrupt everyone is, even herself, and because of that, she trusts no other village to the extent that she actually should be able to. She doesn't want war if she can prevent it, but she wouldn't hesitate to send her shinobi to the front line in order to protect and preserve the pride of her village. As it is now, she allies herself with those who share the same ideals as her, and her opposition is anyone who tries to threaten the Cloud's happiness.

The only thing that changes to distinguish casual and formal wear, is what's being worn underneath. Typically, Kotone wears he battle uniform, which consists of a black, kimono-style blouse with no sleeves, held together by a golden colored obi that matches her pants. Kotone was born in Kumogakure. Her mother and father were both regular shinobi, unknown to the mass public due to their generic fighting styles. They were both tokubetsu jounin, and specialized in their own art. Her mother used genjutsu, while her father focused only on taijutsu. Her name meant life essence. She was given it by her father due to the fact that her mother died only a few moments after her birth. Whether he was playing on words or not, she still doesn't know to this day. Given her mother's death, Kotone's father was left to watch over the child by himself. He promised on the first day that he would take as great care over the girl as possible, in honor of his now deceased wife. Taking good care of Kotone for Kao was a bit different from what Kotone's mother would have called taking care of her child. He meant it in the form of which, he would make sure that she amounted to a shinobi kunoichi, just like her mother had been. He wasn't sure if that was what she wanted, but he would make sure that it happened. Kao wanted his daughter to surpass him, and since he couldn't exactly use anything sufficiently but taijutsu, that's what he would focus her time on. He wished he could teach her genjutsu, so that she could become her mother in a sense, but that wouldn't be possible, due to his lack of knowledge in the subject. He didn't start any actual training due to her young age, but he helped her with basic things like walking and running. Kao enlisted Kotone into the academy at the age of four. He wanted her to get a start on her shinobi life early. Kotone couldn't call her time in the academy too difficult nor could she call it easy. For simplest terms, she was a middle student. There were some subjects that she could easily pass in, and there were others that she had to idea how to execute. She always put all of her effort into whatever she was doing in the academy, as means to impress her father. She was aware of how hard he was trying to advance her skills, and because of that, he wanted to make the job easier. She made some friends in the academy too. There was one boy that she had a big crush on. He was one of the top students and always delivered perfection to displaying his skills. Kotone wanted to be like him in a sense, a perfect student. She felt as though at her level, she was no where near his level, and would never be able to catch up any time soon if she didn't work hard. Unfortunately enough, four years passed and her level was still far more inferior to his. She had mastered the academy techniques and was knowledgeable of everything taught throughout the four years, but he was already a step further than nearly everyone else in the class. That made her lose hope in even the thought of asking him out. It was fear of being rejected or embarrassed. それは、ことになっているかを正確に exactly what it's supposed to be. Eight, and now a genin, she was placed into a team of four. Three rookie genin, fresh from the academy and a jounin sensei to lead over them. The people who she was placed on teams with was fine with her. The class was told prior to graduation that the teams would be composed of a top student, middle student, and one of the lower students. With that being the case, Kotone hoped that she would be paired with her crush, but that didn't happen. Luckily enough, however, her team had a good friend of hers. He was one of the top students, but definitely not the first ranked. She admired his strength too, and with him on the team, she knew that they would be able to go far and train hard. She figured that she could use him as a stepping stool to becoming stronger and matching the skill level of her academy crush, who she figured she would never get over. At the same time, Kao started what was called weight training with his daughter. He hadn't placed off his promise to his wife for the time being, but now that Kotone was out of the academy and ready for the ninja world, he felt it was necessary to prepare her even further. He started with a small amount of weight. Kotone would hold five pounds on each of her limbs: arms, legs and abdomen. This added twenty five pounds on the girl. Of course this made it a lot difficult for the girl to move normally, it was actually nearly impossible for her. The amount of weight that was present made her move slower when walking, and prevented her from running at anything that could be considered fast. It took her nearly two weeks to adjust herself to the weights. She was never allowed to take them off, no matter what she was doing. As her father put it, they became a new extension to her person. Taijutsu would be all that she focused on. Her father was her only teacher in the sense of training her. Sure, she had her sensei and her teammates to teach her different things, but she only learned different techniques from Kao. After adjusting to twenty five pounds, she was bumped to fifty. Her father explained to her that in order to become stronger in the art, she needed some restraints and something to restrict her normal movement. It took a little bit more time this go round to get used to the weights, but after a month, she was at average speed once again. Kotone was promoted to chuunin at the age of ten. Her and her teammates were split apart, and she was placed as the replacement leader of an advanced team. In the two year gap that passed, Kotone and her former team completed a total of ten D-Rank and fifteen C-Rank missions. Along with this, Kotone's weights increased immensely, and she had learned taijutsu techniques from a few different styles. To go along with this, it was found out that she was born with a rare condition that made her a prime user for taijutsu. She kept this team for a year, and after that, she was placed as a solo kunoichi, who performed missions at the whim of the Kage. While she was becoming strong, she still wasn't a match for her father, who was still below average to a normal taijutsu master. The two began to spar one on one with no holding back. They battled to test each other's strength, and fought to win, as that was the only was to make her grow stronger. ことが起こることができます Things can happen... Kotone fell into a big depression at the age of thirteen when her father died. This forced her into a habit that proved to be no good for anyone: drinking. She had heard from different people that drinking could take pressure off of anything, and she really needed to calm her mind from the death of the only close relative she held in life. Surprisingly enough, it did ease the load that was on her shoulder. This was sadly the motivation that pushed her to continue drinking. Upon overdosing on the alcohol, she was placed into the hospital, as she had fallen into a coma. This lasted for a couple of months, and by the time she had awakened, it had been just over a year later. This didn't stop her from working, however. She was told by the doctors that her body managed to heal after the year long term it had to recover. As soon as she was released from the hospital, she went back to training. As time increased, so did her prowess in the art of taijutsu. With drinking, Kotone began to develop naturally to Suiken, the drunken fist. This was her main style of fighting for a good few missions. The style was very rare to see, and because of that, it was nearly impossible to combat due to the inability to guess the opponent's future movement. She was a wreck, and sometimes, she couldn't decipher what was enemy and what was ally. Because of this, she was sometimes sent out on solo missions against a small amount of enemies with backup behind. This continued for a few years. Throughout this time, she managed to receive some help and was able to beat her small addiction to drinking. This allowed her to actually work with the suiken style while sober, letting her learn the actual basics, movements and techniques to the style - which were a lot stronger than what they seemed to be when actually drunk. Kotone was also promoted to jounin due to her great ability to fight and command while drunk or sober. She proved herself to be a capable taijutsu user. As some time passed by, she became the closest subordinate to the Nidaime Raikage. Being the best taijutsu kunoichi, second only to her leader himself, she was the perfect candidate for his partner on the battlefield. She could easily match, and even surpass him in terms of physical strength alone, but when he used his kekkei genkai, that's usually when he got the best of her. It made for a great combat duo, giving them the nicknames: A & B. それは未来に影響を与える that affects the future. When the bijuu hunt came, Kotone just about turned twenty five. By this time around, the woman's face was renown by the entirety of the Cloud Village, along with whispers throughout the other major villages. After all, no one in the world at current time could say that they possessed strength equal or even pass her, at least not naturally. Her raw strength on it's own could bench the full weight of the Raikage himself with one hand. Just before things got heavy, Kotone was told to take back the shinobi who had come along in the bijuu capture. The Nidaime foresaw the unpleasant future ahead, and while he was a man of battle confidence - never letting his shinobi quit until the very end, he was a caring and prideful man too. He wouldn't just let his shinobi die on an effortless attempt. Along with this, he appointed her as Sandaime Raikage, in case he didn't make it back alive. So that was it. Kotone left the Nidaime alone with a squad of medical ninja and immediate backup, while she commanded the rest of the shinobi who had been appointed back to the safe confides of the village. When the Raikage was returned brutally hurt, her suspicion grew. While she knew that he had just fought a bijuu, she wasn't exactly positive that that was the only reason for him being hurt. Along with that, half - if not three-forth of his backup didn't make it either. When the Nidaime did die some time later, Kotone was promoted to the position as Sandaime. After some analysis and question, she declares war on Sunagakure officially, believing that they had something to do with the death of someone who wasn't only her leader, but her companion too. Her suspicion from the time before got the best of her and blinded her in whether doing such was a good idea or not. But she was positive that only good results would come back after finding out that Konoha was also declaring war on the village.
