The words she said, moved his heart like nothing else in his short life. She called him a friend! No one had ever said that to Takezo, not ever. sure people have been nice to him and offered him food and places to sleep and such. Takezo always figured that was just so they could feel good about them selves more than it was about actually helping him. They wanted to alleviate some sort of guilt over being "better off" than he was or something, He didnt fully understand it to be honest but he knew he didn't like the way it felt. So he would normally just stick around for the food and then leave. This was the first time that someone hadn't offered him food or a place to stay and simply enjoyed his company.
Which of course of much better than the other reactions he got. the passive indifference or the out right distaste. He couldn't stand the way she would be any different. Even her eyes looked at him differently, with out the disgust and judgment accompanied by mean comments. He had only met a few people that didn't out right abuse him verbally or psychically. He had been looked down on his entire life, and this was the start of something amazing.
When he and Blackie started the day, planning there strike on the food Merchants. Neither one of them could have known how it would all turn it. after all, They had done this many many times before. It was how the two of them survived the harsh world alone. They both liked to be able to say that he got everything himself, or with blackie. The less he took from people the better he felt about it and it kept him striving to be better and better. So if you'd have told him that while on a "mission" he was going to meet someone that can change his young life, he wouldn't have believed you.
But as she spoke, so kindly about him but with such causality as if she would do it for any one. Like she was just that kind of person. Like that kind of person even existed? It was a lot for Takezo to take into his immature little mind. What little his brain knew of life wasn't this kind. In his life he got kicks instead of kisses or he'd get tricked instead of treated. It was a hard knock life for him but he never let it get him down because he knew there would always be a tomorrow.
Nope, I guess ya couldn't he said with a broad smile. He didn't even notice that his eyes were watering at the mere sound of her saying the word "Friends" again. He hadn't ever had one before and he could see now why everyone else banded together. Why all the kids that bullied him or kicked his ass always had friends with them. Friends made you feel like you could do anything just because there there.
The pair walked quickly into the park, blending in with many of the civilians that passed by while going about there daily business. If any one had tried to pursue them , they would have had a hell of a time finding two well trained ninja's who don;t want to be found any more. Maybe the kitten licking every possible inch of his little body could give them away, but Takezo kept the little guy warm in his kimono. Looks like were home free, he said and his smile shifted to a playful grin. Partner he finished with a wink.

In Inori's mind, she had done what she would do for anyone; she wasn't one of those people that could stand there and watch someone's misfortune and laugh about it. Nor could she simply sit there idly and not help out. That was just the way she was, the way she had always been, and hopefully, the way she always would be. She had suspected, but not exactly been able to confirm, that he had never met anyone like her in his whole life. That he'd never experienced kindness for the sake of kindness, only care manufactured by people that wouldn't sit around and let a child starve or freeze but didn't want anything to do with him - people that used him as their good did and didn't give a damn about what happened to him afterward. People like that made her sick. She couldn't do anything about them. But she certainly could help Takezo, and that's exactly what she intended to do. Inori knew she would never understand what it was like to be him. She had lived an admittedly sheltered life, with the loving care of her parents and just about anything a little girl could want. She had never gone hungry or slept out in the cold or wanted for anything and knowing that he had just made her more in awe of the spirited Uchiha boy. He hadn't let life get him down, and that really was something. Noticing the tears welling up in his eyes, Inori sighed and pulled him into a hug. "You're a good kid, you know that? It's a damn shame no one's ever cared enough to find that out before." She ruffled his hair, and held him there for a long moment before letting go. They headed into the park, and were lost among the thongs of people swarming over the place. "Heh. I guess we are."words 346 tags takezo notes 346 our broken hearts and twisted minds |

Being pulled into her embrace was more than Takezo could handle. He felt his chest implode and explode in such rapid succession that he was beyond a doubt sure that he was about to meet his maker. His whole body trembled to the furious and rapid explosions of his heart. with out him even wanting to his tony little arms clung to her, pulling her against his body. It had been a very long tine since anyone had embraced the boy, so long ago that he can't tell if it's a memory or a dream.
Takezo buried his face in her shirt for a moment, stifling his coming tears. His his heart wouldn't calm down and if anything the explosions and implosions were getting faster and faster as he tried not to cry like a baby. His little fingers gripped the fabric of her clothes as he chocked back the erupting emotions that were trying to force themselves out. Takezo had thought he didn't need things like this. Things likes hugs, kisses and affirmation were for the weak kids who needed it to excel. He thought he was beyond that and them.
However his current situation had sent that mind set into a whirlwind. He had never had to disappoint or impress anyone and he was being overwhelmed with something he couldn't understand. He wanted her to like him, not only like but be impressed by him as well. For the first time in his short life he cared what someone thought of him. He thought about what she said. How he was a good kid. Two simple words that had never been thrown his way in his entire life. He knew he wasn't the best kid around but this was the first time he ever had someone tell him strait out that he was a good kid.
Bastard,Urchin,Unwanted,Little shit,Thief and Orphan were all names and titles he was used to. Often hurled at him do to simple misunderstandings but when children are involved even simple misunderstandings become large issues due to irrational parents. The single minded protection of ones young is often a very primal force for good but Takezo knew the darker side. He knew what it felt like when mamma bear turned that primal force onto him. For the first time, he understood where that feeling came from and why someone could be so crule to protect.
Pushing himself away from her, trying to his his slowly seeping tears. Though the slight dampness of her cloths told the whole story. Sniffling and whipping his tears away with his back to her. So Partner, Whats next? We ca sunbathe, Blackie loves that. We can do some training, that's my thing. What's your thing? What do you like to do? He rattles off the questions so fast, using his talking to choke down his tears. If your gonna be running with us were gonna need to know a bit about what ya like, even if ya like things ta shouldn't. his voice steadier than before.
