? Appearance
Mai is 5'10", with a relatively paler skin tone accenting her features. A tint of read around her cheeks, ears, and shoulders, are not out of place, given her skin doesn't tan, but burns. Dark hair covers up her head, and is usually kept very neat, despite being a missing nin. Flipped up in the back, with bangs set neatly in a swept fashion, and will often tame an unruly bang the moment it's out of position. Strangely, a bow sets in her hair, white and a bit oversized, keeping it in its neat position. She rarely wears makeup, given that overall appearance isn't the greatest of concerns to her, not even having to dress up for public meetings. Moving down, she normally wears a tightfitting strapless top, though non-constrictive, with a black and white design. She wears a veil top around her neck, that covers up much of her neck and bare collarbone. On this, the plate of her former home of sand on the neckpiece. Accompanied with an attached dress bottom. These are of a simple black and white desgin and worn withfull length tights. Simple boots of a dark colour cover and protecther feet. Accessories are simple, with a pair of earings made of an indistinct black metal. Detached sleeves, or armwarmers, cover much of her otherwise bare arms. A ring sits on her middle finger, and over hereyes is a prominent bit. Both eyes are wrapped and covered over with bandages. To cover herself during travel, or weather, a long black travelling robes with a large collar, that hangs to just above her heels, is what is employed. Accompanied by a wide-brimmed hat to keep rain, sun, and snow off. Each one of the personalities has a different style of wearing these clothings, though rarely change out of this basic set.
? Mental Assessment
Mai's psyche is variable, and frightening to those few with the ability to sense, or see, chakra. The reason for this, is that she has 5 seperate, and distinct chakra wavelengths inside her, all coming from a different source. The reason for this, is her mind is split into 5 distinct personalities. Mai, is the 'main' one if such a term exists. Quick to annoyance and delves into a cold anger, sher prefers to be left alone in most circumstances. Abi, is coniving, clever, and always working an angle. Abi is noted to be the most cruel of them all, but probably the most intelligent. Ron is a womanizer in a woman's body,but thankfully he isn't interested in his own flesh. Mae is psychotic, even viciously attacking leaves blowing by. Despite this Mae does have problem solving, and a general intelligence. And the final, is one that doesn't have much of a name, that wanders in a trance repeating 'Circle, Circle' almost like a zombie with the dishelved movement. Each personality has its own quirks, and own chakra wavelength, making her very strange to sense, due to this. As Mai is the predominant personality, much of what is filled out is under hers.

? Background Information
[/justify]Born to a caravan of merchants, the life of such was to be promised to Mai. The desert was to be her backyard, as the merchants wandered the deserts on their paths to buy, sell, and make money, with their primary trading partner that of Sunogakure, in order to supply them with crops and otherwise, that can't be grown in the desert. Alas, as such things go, an unspoken promise isn't kept, and Mai didn't grow up a merchant. Their guards were overwhelmed by a group of bandits. With enough sense not to whimper, Mai survived due to her adopted sister, Mina, hiding them both beneath a recently slain body. The survivors, few more than the two, moved into Sunagakure, welcomed with open arms to the remnants of their long time traders. Mai, and Mina were both among this group, and due to their tiny ages, became citizens, rather than a type of immigrant. Mina was the first to decide to join the academy when she turned 5, wanting to never fall prey to an attack like that again. When Mai was 6, she was allowed to join into the reindeer games of the academy, but by then, Mina was 10 and graduated.
The academy wasn't easy for Mai, for a few reasons. The others, the multiple personalities, were almost always present in her mind, and schooling performed many of the triggers. It didn't help that each one had its own name, aside from one of them. In this time, Abi was oft in control, the most methodical of them, though Ron reared his head, giving her a reputation as a freak due to flirting with girls. Even young Ron knew what he liked early on. Still, she scraped by the classes, each one of her personalities calling each other friend. As Mai would have it, being a trainee of the Sand, and being discovered to be able to form the lines, she was taught to use the secret arts of puppetry. Despite being entrusted with the training, Mai didn't exactly pass her first time. Or second time. She did however, graduate to a genin on her third retake of the test. By then, Mina had graduated from a genin, passing the Chuunin exams. Once again, she couldn't really be reunited with her sister, like she'd hoped for joining the academy.
Being a genin was alright for Mai, but she had become that weirdo in the group, partly thanks to her unpredictable nature, what with switching between Mai, Abi, and Ron frequently, as well as one that emerged, well never really wasn't present. For lack of better word, Circle. In a trance of sorts, capable of very basic things, while speaking 'Circle, Circle'. Her workspace is oft covered in a number circles, drawn, scratched into, or made out of objects, varying in size; from tinty to huge.
Her teammates thought her weird, but she didn't really care all that much. Mina was a friend to her, as were herselves. There were some incidents, some involving Mai, or variations of Mai. One thing stuck around, is that she didn't like her teammates much, often finding them a burden, but more annoying than anything. And as time went, and they grew better at their skills. And then the chuunin exams, the first real appearance of Mae, a killer personality hidden inside that multi-subconscious of her's.
Locked away in an all out team battle, a sort of scavenger hunt, using tracking skills gained through the time of a genin. Of course, there were other teams from the large villages. The rules were very very little, and it was only suggested that there would be no killing. Seeing as how Mai didn't get along too much with her own teammates, they were dealt the short end of the stick, when it came to the teamwork aspect.
Mai quickly took things into her own hands. Or maybe I should say Abi, whichever you prefer, and led her own search into the woods. By the time she found what she needed, it was much too late to pass the exam, for reasons other than time limit. Upon finding the dark crystal in question, Abi met back up with her teammates, Teammate, in peril. It wasn't that the boy had died, it was that because of that, that they had failed the exam, due to it being a team event. Abi blacked out, but Mae gained full control, for the first time in a long time, the only other moments, were to tear apart neighbourhood dogs and cats.
It wasn't pretty, and Mae was covered in not only the assailant's blood, but that of her former teammate's as well. Luckily, there was little investigation, Abi resuming control after Ron wrested it from Mae. Abi is the type that could lie her way through life. Barely any physical signs, if any in the first place. Mae's existance was kept quiet. Possibly a blessing in disguise, that she had failed the chuunin exam, though it may not have mattered.
Mina, her adopted sister, had wanted to wait to join a squad with Mai, but was forced to go on by a family that adopted her. And then, wanted to wait as a chuunin to join in on missions, for her little sister. With Mai failing the first exam, and out a team, Mina asked her foster family, if she could receive tutouring. Not fond of the strange girl, and suspicious of the happenings in the Chuunin Exams, it took a bit, but the elder caved in. After all, Mina was due to take her jounin exams soon, at the tender age of 17.
Mai was taken aside for training along with her sister, and Mina adamentally held off on taking her jounin exams, in order to stay with Mai. Training further in her puppetry, as well as a special ability discovered, either a hidden kekkei genkai, or something specific to her, it was hard to tell when it came to orphans. Mina didn't mimic these, but try as Mai might, she could not win. That was fine though, she was just glad to be back with Mina, all of her was glad to back with her sister.
Mai earned the Chuunin rank, the following year when they became available to take once again, and went straight back to practicing with her sister, only this time, she had more than just 'watering Mrs. Nesbitt's garden' as a mission, albeit in the desert, carrying the water from the well did get annoying. It was easy to see why Mrs. Nesbitt often requested this of the trainee ninja.
Mina, still refusing to take the jounin testings, despite the confidence of her own, instructors, and her family's advice and pressings. Even Mai couldn't convince her, but she didn't argue when Mina proclaimed she wanted to wait. Even as just chuunin, they gained a nice little reputation, completing their missions, whether it be bandits, or a little more. In this time, what was to be just an escort, turned into an s-ranked mission, beyond the supposed capabilities of 4 chuunin, as the pair were paired with another pair.
War was always unpredictable, and the beginnings of such, were no exception. Running into the elite guard or another village, they were to be easily overwhelmed. Blocking the way for the enemy to follow, the two sisters opted to stay behind, and cover the rear. Hold them off so the other two could get word out. In the action, the two sisters were quickly separated, and their battles went a very different way. Held up by someone in line for the Kage of the village, Mai had her hands full with justone, while Mina, was off on her own, with the rest of the 6man squad.
Mai's, Abi's, Mae's, Ron's, whichever, you prefer they switched a lot. The battle was a lot of talking, and threatening. Their opponent, declared Mina to be in grave danger, if Mai went to aid her, having more backup. Thta didn't stop the two from fighting, and in the end, it was something of a stalemate, leaving Mai physically exhausted, and her chakra near absolute zero. She showed up at the village, forced to move at a normal pace, nearly dead from exposure, and chakra exhaustion.
Mina had already made it back, and was hailed in great regard. She had conquered over 5 of them, and was given the title jounin. Unable to make it to Mina's small celebration of mission accomplished, and overachieved, Mai wasn't sad about that, social parties weren't any of her thing's. She was happy for her sister, disappointed that shewasn't a jounin, and happy she was alive. Debriefing afterwards, is what made her sad though.. Mina was praised, while in the same room as her adopted father, their superiour. Mai wasn't even taken aside, to be berated for derelict of duty.
Why couldn't Mai be accomplished like Mina. Why had she not even succeeded in killing her target, whom was the same rank, as the 5 Mina had been able to take out. Why was Mai a disappointment to the village, when Mina was a paragon? He left after that, leaving the sister's alone. Mina was about to console, when Mai lost it, her hand striking out against the hard wall where she lay. A crack of her wrist breaking, was testament to how much it bugged her. Mai informed Mina what she really wanted. She didn't care about not ranking to jounin, or that he'd berated her, and definitely not that she was constantly in Mina's shadow. She wanted Mina's father, to love her too. to have a family.
It wasn't long, until something happened, that would forever change Mai. You see, her chakra always came off as a very unstable output, a presumable danger to her, and those around her. Mina's father, was the assassin hired, and one of only 3 people to know that Mai was a legitimate target, and deemed a threat. The other two, were the councilman whom hired the assassin, and Mai. When unmasking the would-be assassin, she demanded who sent him, the anger rising in her. Receiving the name, Mae took over, and hunted the councilman down.
It was relatively easy, but Mae, brutal and inefficient as she was, it wasn't a pleasant death, or discrete one. Mina had discovered the trail, unaware that it was an assassination attempt on Mai, confronted her. After a short skirmish, Mae unleashed a fire attack, previously unable to use the element, Mina was caught completely unawares, and received several severe burns. Mai wrested control in time to pull back the power, if just a tad, to not kill her sister, though she didn't have time to find out. Mai fled when response teams came across the scene, of a hero severely injured. Naturally, she was listed as a priority target, due to her mastery of puppetry techniques. Her body would betray secrets.
Mai didn't do much, as one would expect. Enough to become wanted in many others, but not enough that many but informed or bounty hunters would know her name. Regarded as an a-class in most circumstances, Mai isn't completely obscure. In fact, she worked as a mercenary, as many missing nin did, for some sort of income, usually paying more than being a highwayman. One such man, found her skills to be of interest to his own research. A proposal, partnership, that Abi accepted in consideration.

, Jonin17, etc. If going for the S-rank Nukenin
spot, you will have 21 points to spend. All your stats
are at E-Rank, you can channel one point into a single skill
for a single rank up. An example would be putting 1 point in
Ninjutsu, leaving only 16 points left, and Ninjutsu Skill at
D-Rank instead of E-Rank. Follow this basis when upgrading
